I am not willing to scrap anything constituional. I am sick and tired of watching these criminals get coddled by the media, and the legal system. As well as getting reduced sentences, or plea bargains, or whatever slick little loophole, and stall tactics the defendants lawyer can come up with. As I read in an article, 150 years ago this terrorist would be swinging from the gallows in less than 60 days. We know have MSNBC, the mothership of all nutjob liberal media stations, defending Muslims. Saying that it is not Muslim/Islamic religion that makes them do it. Really? Since 9/11 - Radical Muslims, have, or attempted 21,000 acts of violence, and or, terrorism across the world. Our founding fathers were pretty smart guys for writing what they did. Alot of people tend to foget that the Constitution was designed to keep us safe from tyranny and federal control. Thats one reason why liberals hate it. I agree. That s why the Constitution says you are guaranteed a SPEEDY trial. Luckily, with a trial, MSNBC, the White House and the other propagandist won't be the judge and juror.

exactly why we need a trial, with cameras in the court room and open to the public. One of these guys was convicted of domestic assault while here on a VISA and NOT deported.

Once proven guilty (not by neo-con, douche bags like you) in a court of law, they have the right to be executed. Maybe you took home economics and wood shop in school instead of Civics and US history? Didn't you have to pass a Constitution test in order to graduate? You cannot be more Conservative than to require a strict and verbatim interpretation of the Constitution. The lefties love to claim it is only a guideline and is a "living document" that they can re-interpret on a whim to suit their needs. Personally, I believe they are guilty too, but still a citizen and still under the jurisdiction of the Constitution. Swift trial, swift justice. I could care less how much it cost. What I absolutely do not want, is for him to be hidden somewhere where his motives will be kept secret because it will be better if the people did not know. If ya get my drift. If you want the truth, a public trial is the best bet.

how do you know they are a terrorist or murderer without a trial? Certainly not by snipetts on the TV or a 1,000 word article written in the NY Times or WSJ. The media in this country are a joke and completely agenda driven.

I am saying all US citizens are guaranteed a right to a speedy trial by a jury of their peers and to be represented by an attorney. That has NOTHING to do with loopholes, it is one of the very things that this country was founded on. I could give a crap less what some judge or politician did in this century to strip away that basic American right. We don't prosecute people in this country in the press or by what limited info we have been feed by the media.

AZSHTR - My post about the right to trial by jury was not meant to be taken as a response to the other question about citizens being denied their rights. I do not believe the people of Boston were FORCED to stay in their homes. At least not from what I have read. In fact, when watching live reporting, I saw people out, driving, etc.

They did not read this guy his miranda rights. This tells me they are going to stash him away somewhere without a trial so that the media and others can't talk to him. Sorry, but he is a US Citizen. Since they took him alive, he has a right to a trial by a jury of his peers. Now, I would hope that if convicted, he would get the death penalty, for sure. We can't scream about the 2nd Amendment being compromised and turn around the very same week and tell the Gov't to squash someones rights to a fair trail.

In my opinion, one of the reasons they are so bent on gaining control of the guns is that the economy is about to take a HUGE dump. The bank bailouts were just a band-aid to a much larger overall problem.There is not enough money in the world to pay off our debt + entitlement obligations+ gov't guaranteed pensions. It does not exist. You can tax 100% of the entire country, it won't pay the bills. There will be a day of reckoning regarding this. It is soon approaching.There are many economist with no political leaning one way or the other that are saying that it will not be able to stay afloat the remainder of Obama's term.
