Question on Match Grade and Ballistic Tip (Accuracy)
DesertBull replied to Stallone A.'s topic in Long Range Shooting
The match bullets will kill dead as stone. Just because the box does not say "hunting" does not mean it is not effective. Thousands and thousands of animals have been killed with a SMK, Amax, Berger Hybrid, etc. Hit a deer / elk in the guts with a "hunting" bullet or a "match" bullet. Makes no difference, its still a gut shot. -
You are not going to find a kit that has everything. You will need to buy things that are caliber / cartridge, specific to measure seating depth, head space, etc. Most kits won't have a case trimmer.

What powder for .308 win?
DesertBull replied to DesertBull's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Agree but right now I don't know for sure what powder I will be using long term so don't want to commit with 8lbs. After I settle on a powder then a big jug will be ordered. -

Unfortunately it's probably the scope. You might have tightened the rings too much. I did that once.

Seems like the 7LRM + 180 grain bullet is custom made for H1000 or maybe RL25

He probably voted for Obama too. -
.308 based (.243/.308/.260/.7mm/08) Don't care about condition of stock, barrel etc. So, if you have an old Savage or Stevens sitting around rusting and gathering dust, turn into a couple tanks of scouting gas or new boots.

The angled is steadier and easier to use with a camera but as mentioned you have to adjust your tripod if you switch from binos to spotter
