I graduated high school only two years ago and if I had anything below a C my dad would not take me hunting, granted I knew what I was doing enough I would take myself but I had to work so I could afford my gas to go. But before that bad grades equaled no hunting. If your son is already hooked on hunting, make him get his grades up. If he isn't I would say to take him hunting. I would let him go on one hunt but not the other if his grades are bad. So he knows your serious, but still gets to get hooked on hunting. I had a deer hunt my senior year my dad wouldn't let me go on my senior year because of grades, and I couldn't take myself cause my truck was running poorly and it was either fix my truck and have no gas money, or get my grades up so I could use my dads truck and have gas money. Needless to say my grades shot right up

I know I'm gonna get called bs for this, but I know a spot I can find coues usually every trip or two around 2k feet... never expected them in there and was hunting mulies, I see them quite often now. Its usually does and a small buck or two but I did see a monster in there rutting those does this past january

I shoot the viper mildot with turrets and have zero problems touching 1000 with my 6.5x284... idk how much adjustment you would need with your 308 but I have a 20 moa base and can reach 1000 with some adjustment left on the turret

I went on a hunt with my gf before we started dating, so I thought I would impress her by haulin butt up mountains and hunting very hard. Well her and her sister weren't too impressed, but mad at how fast I was moving as they couldnt keep up. Havent made that mistake again haha lucky for me she already enjoys hunting and wants to go everytime I go out. But I slow the pace wayyy down and she enjoys it alot more

Did you guys ever find the rest of his right antler? That looks like a fresh break. My first coues buck broke his main beam in the same place as your when he was tumbling around... luckily me and my dad foud most of the antler and we glued it back on. Would never know he broke it besides it still missing about 1 in of the main beam

You should try the new berger hvld's if you want more velocity... not sure if you are shooting the accubonds because they hold together but I've heard these new hybrids are awesome! Supposedly getting better speeds because of the lower bearing surface. And my bergers bave performed flawless for me so far

It is an electronic scale. I recalibrate everything everytime I use it but idk what's wrong with it. The scale I borrowed was accurate and consistent but mine isn't

I took my gf to the range the other day and noticed that my groups had opened up in my 6.5x284. I thought maybe I was gonna need to rebarell soon but I was checking my bullets when I got home and noticed that the bulleys were seated anywhere from .001-.01 off from each other and not uniform. I checked my die and everything is set solid nothing can move on it. So is my die going bad or am I doing something wrong? When I run the case up to seat the bullet I don't push harder or farther than I should.

Well I found the problem. I checked and did everything mentioned and all that was perfect. Found my scale was off and my powder varied from .1-.4 gr off from each other by conparing it with anothee scale. Time for a new scale then...

Awesome thanks guys! Ill check all that stuff when I get home. And I was measuring oal and not to the ogive. I know all my primers are fully seated. I do have 850 rds down the barrel and my groups only opened from 1/4in to 1/2 in but when Im used to 1/4 in it seems like a lot haha. Thanks for the tips!

Get a chevy 5.3ltr. I bought a 05 silverado recently and have a 6 in. Lift sittin on 33's (for now, goin to 35's soon) and with a throttle body spacer, cold air intake, custom true dual exhaust, and programmer I average 18 mpg around town. Have zero problems pulling a trailer and have had 15, 000lbs behind pulling roll up garage doors it goin 75 up and down hills no problem. It does great off road and have zero overheating issues, but I may throw an electric fan on soon just for kicks and giggles. But personally I would probably stick to diesel

well i am gonna get a new backpack and can't decide between 2 packs. the dragonfly and j34. i have an older model just one and love it but want to get a new one. i like the size of the dragonfly but like the design of the j34. i want to be able to do day hunts without having something too huge but also want to be able to fit my 6.5 in it easier cause it has a big stock, 50 mil objective lens and turrets. my current just one fits it but i have to fight it so get it in the scabbard. i am gonna get a new stock soon so that will help but i have to wait a while cause its on back order

Well what are you gunna get this year before coues season starts back up? Its only over for a month and I'm already wishing I could still go out. For me I'm gunna get a new stock for my 6.5x284 cause the one I have on right now is a little too heavy for coues climbing. And a new pair of boots... so what's on your list?

i picked my first trail cam i set up today, it was out about a week and a half. all i had were some pics of birds, but there were fresh javelina tracks on the trail i set it on. at least they looked fresh cause they werent there before i set it up and it had rained in this area after i set it up. so they had to have passed by it. there are a few pics at night where there is nothing in the picture. but what did i do wrong? im gunna try a different spot cause i know the javelina went past but didnt really see any deer tracks

i put it in my backyard for a night and was getting good pics of my dogs running around before i put it out, to make sure i knew how to do it correctly. its on a trail leading to water because the water is all down through this wash, there are 2 giant game trails that come together and meet to a spot where the fence stops and the cross there. the fence crossing and trail are in my pictures, maybe i had it too high for the javelinas. and i have infared

just so people know bfg no longer makes this tire, and only does the km2's. but they are a good tire, but i wouldnt call it 75% tread left...
