Yes got 2 bull tags and an antelope tag on ours!!!!!! You just have to call them and ask if you have any pending charges on your account. Had one for 90 and one for 270..... wool hook gonna be a busy august and September! !!!! Good luck everybody!!!!!!! Holy crap my dad just started yelling at me while I was typing this and he drew a Sept bull tag too. Crazy hope we got the same unit..... Wow! Congrats! Is your name JR?

They post quick but if they follow the pattern they have in the past you need to do some math to find out if you drew. If I remember how it works......look at your current balance and available credit on your Cabelas card. If there are no pending charges the available balance will be the credit limit minus the current balance on your card. Ok thanks. Nothing yet...

Anyone got a hit with a cabelas visa? I never use this card so I have no idea how fast transactions post.

First game of the tournament and I already lost 1 billion dollars. good thing the tournament started. It'll help take my mind off the draw.

Yep! Between this and NCAA brackets production is way down! Haha

What's the craziest thing you have done while out hunting?

You guys don't happen to drive a dodge with Montana plates do you? 😜 -
Still rutting where I live. The last two days has been the best that I have seen so far this year. It's been all small bucks until yesterday. Finally found a couple big boys chasing tail. Just couldn't make it happen.

I love that smell! Haha! I'm not sure you did anything wrong. They just normally win about 90% of the time. At least that's my case. Keep giving yourself these kinds of opportunities. It'll workout in your favor eventually.

Thank you for doing this flatlander. I have 4 points for elk. How about early archery bull for the first and second hunts in 11M. Also unit 8 early archery bull. Thanks!

With the 2014 elk/antelope draw coming up in a few months I've been doing alot of research on some units that I may or may not consider for my second choice on the application. I've got 4 points going into the draw so my odds of drawing an early archery tag are not great but after looking at the bonus point analysis from 2013 it looks like I may have a decent chance at drawing some units that are probably considered to be sub par compared to the more well known big bull units such as 9,10,1, 23, 3A/3C etc...The unit that has most caught my eye is 11M. Because of the decent draw odds and success rate from 2013 I am leaning heavily on putting this unit down. My question to you guys that have had this hunt before: what is the quality of the rut during this hunt? I'm speaking of the second hunt mostly. I'm not setting my goal on a 400" bull although I realize a stud was killed out of here a few years ago. what I want is to be into bugles and a chance at a 6 point bull probably 300" or better. Does this hunt give me this opportunity? Also considering units such as 6B, 7E, 4A, and 4B. So what are your guys' thoughts?
-
I will continue to wait out an early archery bull tag. I realize that I'm not in the bonus pass with only 4 points. I'm just hoping to better my odds in the 80% pass so that's why I was asking about the quality of the 11M hunt. It looks like this unit has a good balance of decent draw odds and decent hunt success.

Sweet glass! I too have them in the 15x58 ED and they are some deer finding machines! I've also looked through the 56's like the ones for sale here and they are also very good glass. Someone needs to snatch these up.

Another prime example of just how great CWT forum really is.

I grew up in mule deer country and thats what I spend the majority of my time hunting. Ive never even killed a coues deer and have only been on one coues hunt but this is the only hunting forum I even look at. Its the best forum for ALL types of hunting. Being on this site has definately got me wanting a coues buck real bad. -
Glassed up a group of does that had a stud 4 point with them as well as a decent 3 point. They weren't chasing tail just yet but those two bucks were not getting along real good. Every time they got close to each other that big buck would chase that smaller one away from him. Of course I blew my stalk dang it!! I was in unit 20C.

12x50 swaros! I can dream can't I?

It's an older Remington 700 30.06. He's had it forever and it's never done that. He shot a small bull last night. It was a tough hunt an he couldn't resist. Plus it died close to a road.
-
So far this has been a really tough hunt. We are hunting outside the ranch and we are seeing tons of hunters and very few elk. Opening evening we had a shooter bull glassed up. my dad was getting ready for the shot just needed the bull to step out, he clicked the safety off and the gun went off!! Holy crap that was scary! That was the last elk we saw. So is anyone else having trouble locating elk in 10?

My dad has the late rifle bull tag starting this Friday. He's driving up right now and I'm going to meet him after some turkey tomorrow. Hoping he gets one early in the hunt so I can have time for my 36a leftover coues tag.

The Buck I Never Dreamed Of
kennyazman replied to tsquare602's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Not only is it HUGE but it's also freaking cool looking too!! Perfect buck man congrats! -
It all depends on which unit you were wanting to go to. There are some archery hunts that the draw odds arn't too bad. These units are not as well known for their quality bulls like some of these other more popular units such as units 9,10, 3a/3c,23,1, and 27 but that doesn't mean they arn't in there. If your wanting to get drawn more often and hunt the "lesser quality" units such as 6b,7e, 11m, 4b, and 4a you can probably draw those a lot more often than the first group of units I listed and all of those hunts in the second list are still good hunts. Check out the draw odds portion of the hunting regs and you can use that to help you decide.

My second great buck.....same spot as last one!
