Mogollon Taxidermy does it again!
Jay Scott replied to Jay Scott's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Thanks for the compliments! I am always happy when I get something back from Clay! Coues Sniper your right its official score is 130 5/8 net non typical, 133 5/8 gross. -
Thanks for all of the positive comments about Michael's bull, he definitely deserves a bull like this with all of the time he has hunted these awesome animals. I believe this bull probably was lost and found himself on the wrong side of a barbed wire fence. He definitely has some serious character. The rut was tough this year and the bugling was down. I think it is due somewhat to a severely dry August and the cows didn't cycle on normal time. Also the dark moon I think played havoc with all of us elk hunters this year. Take care and lets get fired up for Coues season. Good Hunting to all!

To hunt, or not to hunt in Mexico
Jay Scott replied to swcouesfanatic's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
sw- I am sorry you guys had a bad experience in Sonora. I have found a good rule of thumb is to never stay in any town longer than you have to and to make sure you are hunting a ranch that you can lock the gate behind you and stay right on the ranch. IMO, once you lock the gate the odds of anything bad happening go down dramatically. I would recommend to always stay on the property you are hunting. There are some great outfitters as sponsors of this site you might check them out. I just went to Mexico with Brad Fulk of Rio Sonora Outfitters turkey hunting and felt completely safe. Take care and good hunting! -
That was an awesome video! Great shot and awesome display of patience waiting for the bird to get in the right spot. Man he acted like he had done that a hundred times. That was neat to see him keep his cool until it was time to let er' rip. How old is he? That is great to see the kiddos getting out there!!
