Highlands Bible Church, Scottsdale area, Pinnacle Peak just east of Pima. Great place for a sinner like me. Good message, good singing and good folks. I am so thankful for God's grace and mercy!

Great job! Love the color of his antlers. Also the character of his mass and extra point. How was the feed overall down there compared to last year? Also how was the rut, strong or spotty! Love your buck!! Congrats

Benjamin Fogelson AZ Coues Buck
Jay Scott posted a topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Got this in from JSO Blog follower, Ben Fogelson: Applying for the fall draw I never thought I would be writing this story now. I had decided that I was going to put in for a premier Arizona trophy Coues whitetail tag, thinking I would be waiting up to 10 years. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the words “draw success. My tag started December 9th and ended December 31st. However, due to school I had to wait till the 15th to begin hunting. Scouting was difficult because of a full school schedule so I scouted maybe three times before the hunt. I hunted a few days with my dad opening week and saw no big bucks. A couple friends that had been wanting to come help me on the hunt were getting jammed up with work and other obligations. I headed back down on the 22nd and 23rd to hunt a few mores days before Christmas. I saw a few smaller bucks and one decent buck. Now, I cannot tell you how many people had told me that the week after Christmas the big bucks begin to go crazy and start coming out of the wood work. Thursday the 29th we woke up usual time (6:00am) and met with my other friends who drove down to help us with the remaining of the hunt. We started glassing and saw a few smaller bucks but nothing worth chasing. Just before we were going to call it and head in for lunch we glassed up a small buck feeding. We ran off to sneak in for my dad to get a shot at the buck when a bigger buck reveled himself. The moment had finally come, it was all starting to unfold. We were a good distance away from the buck and got all our optics on him. Taking one look through the spotter I knew he was the one. The buck bedded down under a mesquite tree, which triggered the beginning of our stalk. It only took us 10 minutes to get into position for the shot. The buck was chasing a doe 250 yards up the hill. My first shot I missed low and then at 275 yards he presented a perfect quartering away shot and down he went. My dad followed up, “He’s downâ€. All the way up to him millions of things were going through my mind. Making it up to the top I looked over and saw the buck pilled up at the base of a small juniper. I went over to him and pick up his rack and was in disbelief. All my hard work had paid off in the end. I am very appreciative the have harvest such a beautiful trophy animal and to have shared it with my friends and my dad. He scores 93 7/8. My biggest to date. " Great Buck Ben! Thanks for sending! Great questions and sorry for being so vague. Yes the price includes food, lodging (see attached pics), transportation, shotgun permits, and guide. It is an all inclusive hunt. The only thing that is not included is gratuities. Hunters can ride with us down there or take there own vehicle whichever they prefer. We all caravan together. We handle all of the crossing, paperwork, import/export of the guns and turkeys. Thanks for the inquiry. BTW, the accomodations are fantastic! The house even has wireless internet if you need to take care of business or log onto CWT.com while we are down there. Feel free to email or pm us if you have more in depth questions as well. I can be reached on my cell phone at 602-803-0223 or Darr at 602-284-1722. I am headed to Sonora in the morning so I will be gone for a few days but will be happy to answer any more questions when I get back. Click here to see more pics

We would like to tell our friends at CWT.com about our upcoming Mexico Goulds Turkey hunts in the Spring of 2012. We have two great Goulds ranches that are loaded with turkeys. We took three hunters last year that harvested 7 birds in 2.5 days. Check out our pictures and videos from last year’s hunt. We are offering two Goulds Gobblers per hunter for $2250.00. Additional birds available, call for details. At this point, our dates are fairly flexible but looking around the end of April to first part of May for peak gobbling action. Please give us a call if you are interested in completing your turkey slam or just want to have a great hunt. Go to this link Should be a great time!

Welcome to Colburn and Scott Outfitters!

Actually it is ironic that you ask that because Darr and I are working on a archery program for one of our leases in Mexico right now. I will get back with you once we have the details ironed out. Should be a great setup. -

Jay Scott replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Sponsor Spotlight
Thanks for the welcome! Well it usually takes 13+ points for a non resident to draw the archery elk units that we like 9, 10, 23. Late Rifle elk in unit 23 usually takes around 9-10. So I would say you are gaining on it! Congrats on the recent archery coues buck. -

Thanks Allen! That $20 bucks will be in the mail for the compliment! We are excited to be involved here at CWT.com. Looking forward to hearing about some great hunts and sharing on some of the topics that are discussed here. Allen saw that you shot a pretty good buck on your hunt. Congrats! -
Joe Slaton with Motherlode Turkey calls has provided this video. Always awesome stuff with Joe! It's time boys dust off the calls and tune them up. Gobble time is just around the corner. Listen hard to the hens. View the full article

Again Respectfully: Guys, who is gathering information and looking at all the variables and who is just firing off accusations and pointing fingers and calling names? I for one am gathering/learning as much as I can before making my decision. I am also not going to start "mucking" this debate up with stuff that is not relevant to this topic. Is anyone else gathering intel like I have been? Lets get to the bottom of this. Come on guys we are all in this together. I dont know much about AZSFW but I know there are some very smart/wise/old veteran type guys involved and some guys who have dedicated more volunteer time to preserving wildlife and our hunting tradition than this whole discussion board put together. I am not taking sides (yet) but I urge you to gather facts and make a very informed decision based on actual facts rather than knee jerk reaction. Maybe start with this: positives for wildlife and negatives for wildlife...........
-
Respectfully, in situations like this I have found it is best to read thru everything very clearly and make sure to have an absolute understanding of what is being proposed. Then create a list of questions or things that need to be clarified in order to make a decision as to whether the proposal might be good or bad and why. Personally, this is the first I have seen of this but think there could be some very positive things that could come out of this for wildlife. I am going to do some research and get to the bottom of the pros and cons. One thing I know for sure is that we need way more money for our wildlife that what we have. I think it is easy to get emotional over things like this but I am going to try and get a full understanding before I make my decision.
