Price drop will be in the valley next 2 weekends $550

Every load/rifle will be a little different but you should have no problems getting the 175 and 180s to stabilize out of that gun and the 197s will be iffy but I would bet the 197s will be ok as well. The 197s are pretty heavy for the 7RM in general and the 175- 180s will probably carry energy further. I've loaded 175-180s out of 1:9.5 and 1:9.25 twist with great results. With the 223 my 1:9s have shot everything I've run through them but a 60+ gr bullet will be best. I like 69 gr match kings, 60gr vmax and 75 gr ELDm.

If your bullet is not jamming the lands. It is probably a headspace issue. Too tight. Need to set the die to bump shoulder a little more or the chamber needs to have a little more cut out of it.

The ejector mark on the brass is a sign of high pressure. But that doesnt seem to be your only problem. Hard to tell without looking at the gun but almost looks like your bolt face needs squared/refaced/cleaned up on a lathe. I would back the load off first and try that before doing anything drastic. Because you definitely have some pressure signs...Also had good luck with Todd at Southern Express

Sounds like a hot load or your ejector may be have a dirty plunger. Post pic of the case marring.

New 6.5mm 156 Berger Elite Hunter
SHOOTER replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I killed a coues buck with one last year. 520 yards entered behind the last rib exited in front of front shoulder. 156gr with MV 3000 fps . The deer didnt take another step. Lots of internal damage. Quarter size exit hole. Would use them again with confidence. I know a couple of people that used them on bull elk this year with good results. -
