Cape, flesh, salt, shipping back and forth plus the tanning cost of $60 …$300 is worth every penny especially if you want to include time at the tannery and today’s shipping rates are ridiculous. Get it now ready to mount it’s a more than fair deal …to me at least.

Is the road to hawley open?

You can expect same or better accuracy by switching to Lapua brass. Winchester brass will get the job done but is junk compared to laupa, adg,Petersen brass.Lapua brass is arguably the best brass you can buy and is worth every penny. Just load it and shoot! In my experience with higher end brass I haven’t noticed much if any accuracy difference from brand new to fire formed brass. Just be be careful and adjust the powder charge accordingly for the new brass. I have seen up to 130fps difference in the same load/bullet but using different brass.

I’ve seen it before. Scope came back from leupold and was supposed to be good. it was the scope rings almost like they put the scope is some sort of a bind. Talleys did it. Went back to the rail and leupold rings problem went away. also seen plenty of vx3s that wouldn’t track worth a poo or return to zero. I love them for a non dial rig but wouldn’t trust them if I planned on dialing.

Thanks guys. They are good dogs to have around for the kids and family.

My perfect coues rifle is a rem 700 based short action 7wsm with wyatts box shooting 180 Berger’s 22” fluted barrel + brake mcmillan game scout trigger tech trigger nx8 or mark 5 3-18 rolls in just under 9 lbs scoped

You’re right. I don’t think the equipment is the issue.

I’d like to see these sub 6# rifles run 1000 yards. 😂

There are quite a few on here. What you need in St.Johns?

I kinda fell for the 300prc for all the same reasons you mention in your original post. I already knew how good the 300win was I just thought the 300prc would be that much better. After dealing with finding components and the other issues I found. I wished and recommend staying with the ol faithful 300win. Some people like to throat them longer and if they do they usually run an extended mag box. (Wyatts box) This does help get a bit more case capacity back and in theory some speed. I have seen saami 300win chambered rifles run 200+grain bullets just as fast as my 300prcs with no mods and loaded under factory mag length ( under 3.700” oal on Rem 700) 215gr Berger’s and most of the 200+ gr ELDs are your friend in the 300wins. Every 300win I have shoot seems to shoot these bullets very well and get them out at very respectable velocity. 300win is an oldie but goodie. Even better since you reload.

300 Win has been proven for a long time. Dies brass etc are more available. The belt is only the gunsmiths problem and it’s still isn’t really a problem. The 300 win will run with the 300 PRC all day. I’ve seen factory chamber 300wins shoot faster than the prcs before hitting pressure. also The sammi sizes on dies and chambers are off and cause sizing issues and bolt click and stuck cases in chambers. I’ve seen this personally 3 times 3 different rifles. 2 300prcs One was a 6.5 PRC. There are a few good threads on LRH about this issue. It’s real. I ruined a bunch of adg and hornady brass sorting these problems out and eventually punched my to a 30SM now I have no more problems. After all the wasted time and ammo I would have just gone with a 300 win.
-
If your going to run only factory ammo. A PRC is not a bad idea. If you reload go 300win. I have owned and run both a lot and I will not buy another PRC.

I spend a lot of time in 15 and the deer hunts are extremely tough and the amount of deer is very low.
-
Nice job! Stallion or Rhodes? I’ve had the opportunity to hunt both the last couple years both were good but stallion is always my favorite. As much of a rat race as it is, it is always a fun time on the WSMR and something I always look to.Congratulations to you both!

Got any more pics of them?

Something is definitely weird if the lights are connected to the outlets. The outlets and lights should be on different circuits. Is the breaker that feeds this circuit 20A or 15A? You need to find which side of the gfci ( line or load) the problem is and go from there.
-
Do you have anything else plugged on that circuit that could be tripping the GFCI? You could unhook the load side of the GFCI and see what side of the outlet your problem is on.
-
I would replace the gfci in question first.

I’ll take it if you can ship. Text sent
