only shows spring results online, not Elk/Antelope.

Here's a tom that we caught a couple of weeks ago. This tom weighed about 120lbs, and had a gut full of Javelina! As if the smell of a dead lion wasn't enough...fill it full of stink pig and ewww... stinky.. This pic is from when we first came up on the cat. The dogs are on the opposite side of the bluff (see pic below) This pic is from when we got around to the side where the dogs were. This is my cousin Donnie (left) and Jeremy Fenn (right)

That's a heck of a deal! Is he for hire?

Great looking lion guys. Congrats! Tyler

Well I don't know if it was you taking the pictures in the post by azlongears "spring tom" but whoever was taking those pictures did a great job!

Josh, Clay, Thanks for the replies. Josh, you guys get any fresh snow up there this week? We were hoping for some down here in the high country, but didn't get any. A little bit of rain lastnight, ran a track for a little while today, but didn't end up catching him. Can't wait til we do though, it's a big track! Cheers, Tyler

Awesome, then you got some great dogs. We have Siren (Redtick with one eye) Goose the Leopard Cur, and Irene, a really small Bluetick, and we got a pup half brother to Siren, his name is Cash all from the same guy. The others are 2 redbones (copper and jess), and another redtick mix (named Cedar) that we're training. Tyler

azdogman, If it is the same dog that you bought, hunted for a while and took her back, THANK YOU! She's caught more lions by herself than most people catch with a whole pack in a year. I can see how she wouldn't fit into some poeple's pack though....Thank goodness ours isn't one of them. azdogman, what kind of dogs do you run? Tyler

Mr. Jonathan, That is a redtick hound. We currently don't have any Walkers. We have 3 redticks, a bluetick, 2 leopard curs, and 2 redbones. I would only recommend getting any breed of hunting dog if you're going to do just that...HUNT THEM! I've got hundreds of pictures...I'll pace myself in posting them...

Sure. Here's one of him where we found him. Something interesting about this lion was the big scar across his nose. We originally thought it might have been another lion that did it, but upon further inspection, it actually looks like it may have been a deer antler that ripped through his nostril. The taxidermist that we took him too said he's seen it before. There was also a hole in the side of his lip that looked like it might have been another tine that punctured through. Who knows...

I'm in the process of getting pictures of all of our dogs up, but this is one that has Goose in it. Not a great picture, but you get the idea. The girl in the pic is my cousin's 7 year old daughter. She goes with us quite a bit. The guy is my cousin's brother-in-law. Goose is on the left, and Siren is on the right. If you've ever seen the movie El Gato, you may recognize Goose, she has her 10 seconds of fame eating on a dead calf that was killed by a lion... cheers, Tyler

Bill, I'm not exactly sure what her breeding is. She came from one of the best lion hunters I know of though. She's super athletic and can keep pace with a mature lion in some of the rockiest terrain imaginable. She's able to get herself into places that other dogs won't even dare go. She can jump from rock to rock and is very intelligent. She knows just how far and how fast she can push a lion, and her endurance is remarkable. The best part about it is she's only 5 years old! We have made countless memories with her and have many, many more hunting memories to go!

Clay, thanks for the welcome. Much appreciated. I'll be posting again soon with the story of another bruiser that we caught 2 weeks ago. It was intense! Nothing like bluffing up a big 'ol tom and staring him right in the face! Gives me the chills, just thinking about it! Cheers, Tyler
