7mm 140grain bt 3198 muzzle Longest kill shot coues 700,620 ,550, 420on Mullie 700yrd deer ran 20 yards left the 20 back to where he was then crashed in a bush dead. Energy at that range was 1444aprox but shot was just behind front shoulder mid body. On my dec hunt I plan on taking any shot out to 1k granted the wind is not crazy(15mph plus)

IMO I think what ever range u can be accurate to. Some many people get caught up on ftlbs witch is important , but with good shot placement ull get em down. My 7mm only claims to have 987ft lbs at 1000yrds but I plan on putting it to the test. A buddy off my smoked a white at 740 with 22-250. Granted it didn't knock it off it's feet like a 300grain 338 would be got the job done! I strongly beleive that accuracy will far surpass ft lbs.. Ex. A 9mm pistol witch a lot of us trust our safety of our lifes on only has 1300vol with like 400ft lbs but would kill just about anything with a good shot. My 2cents

Interesting. I'm not familiar with these silver tips. Do the shoot like the BTs? Yes !! My 7mm shoots 140bt and brothers shoots 140 ct and they both shoot great! I know he took a wt at 690yrds with those CTs and it knocked the crap out of that deer!

We shoot a lot on nosler bullets with great success .. The balistic tip and ct seem to work great for our 7mm 300ultra and 2250.

Ok so I have leupold vxiii 6.5 x20 x50 lr with varmit reticles and I ordered a turret for it. I got it on fri and went out to shoot today with it. Wow!!!!! Really accurate and they payed attention to all details on my load and it shoots great! I started at 800 cause my varmit reticles got me out to 700 before so the turret was to get me the rest. 800yrds one shot hit. Jumped to 975 one shot hit! Cranked to 10 witch is 1000yrds shot. Little low one click. Bottom of target, one more click to center and money!!!! I don't know why after having this scope for 3 years and this load I waited so long! Very impressed . At 1000yrds my bullet drops 244inches and with out a turret there would be no guessing . Lol 7mm 140 grain nos bt 64grains imr 4350 at 3198fps muzzle Thank you leupold for making a great scope and turret is very good quality !

Ok so get the concept. That means u have to a have a different drop chart for every temp and elecations? Cause bullet drop will constantly change granted those factors . There for ur MOA at 600yrds at 2000elv with differ from 600yrds at 8000. So the question to you is how can u find out all those balistic charts? Rcbs software?

I don't fully understand MOA but I would love to know it! Anything that would help in the freild for more accuracy I am game for! I'm not narrow minded and I would like to hear more about it

I ordered threw leupold so I assume they cut them here. Took 3 to 4 weeks like they said it would. I tried to stay as medium as possible on all aspects in elv and so on. Set at 5k elevation 65degrees cause I figure oct morning is about 70 at lowest and dec mid day is 70 so that's a happy medium. Granted temp can vary alot depending..

Turret was 65dollars shipped and I'm a one load type of guy. Why change something thay shoots extremely well! Only hunt deer bear and other smaller game. Archery elk. Half inch and 100yrds .Imo I believe if ur gonna shoot long range, u should have the best possible set up you can have and the most constant way to do so .. It more ethical if ur gonna shoot long range, to have precise accuracy. I'm very aware off my drop chart I have it memorized for the most part. I appreciate the debate on it!!! I don't know everything and that's why I lie this site cause it brings things to my attention that I wouldn't normally know. That's why I wanted to get a shout out on the turret.

Do you have High turrets? No I have high turrets and all I did was gave them my info and they sent the new engraved turret to me. 3 Allen set screws and turret was on.

It cost very little and I did it all over the phone! Very simple!

The way I see it is. It's better to have then not! Just cause u have 20x doesn't meen u always have to leave it there. A simple twist in or out will fix zoom problems. But having a 9x max then trying to make a 700ytd shot. Possible but a little more difficult! The differce in high power is, with a 9x max u am for body. With 20x max or more u can place ur shot on the shoulder, behind or where ever u Want it truly makes a huge difference!!!! I have taken a deer at 620 with a 9x scope then one with 20x at 700 and it constantly surprises u how close they look at 20power!!!!! IMO scope magnification = better accuracy with ability to have better shot placement.

Are u shotting a fmj full length with 125 field point? U have a good draw length and don't see how that would be the issue.
