Thats real funny ... My truck could go clean over a lower S10 and still have room to spare with ease!!! And BTW, we'll either be in a silver F150 x-cab(Rich's truck), or Kevin's charcoal grey F350 FX4 with TX plates... We'll be there

    What will you aim for?

We're headed out in the morn to set up camp and do a little glassing in the evening. I think my minimum will still be the same as last year.. 90" or better. But I'll be looking for those Booner bucks I've seen out there time and time again!! Only time is gonna tell!! Good luck to everyone and we'll see some of you in Arivaca at the Grubsteak on Sat. at 8 PM!!

    Illegals on your Hunt!!

Its like someone else said earlier. problems start at the top. If you are that mad about it, call your Congressmen. Don't blame the BP. We just do what we are told to do from the high-ups in DC. I promise, it would be alot different if we could do what was supposed to be done. But when your hands are tied behind your back, there's not a lot you can do. You just go to work, do what you can, and you make it your mission to get home everyday at the end of your shift. It all BP Agents took the job personally, like some do, you would get so fed up with all the BS that you would quit within your first year. You just do what ya can, and deal with it tomorrow cuz God knows, they are syill going to be out there to catch another day.

    Illegals on your Hunt!!

I want to thank all of you for the kind words of support for me and the Patrol as a whole. Thank you. Its good to hear fro people who actually support the BP. Sounthern Az doesn't have the best reputation for supporting the BP and its mission. Mainly because it disrupts alot of the residents' of their income.. illegals and dope. But hey, we can't keep everybody happy!!! I am proud of the job I get to do, and for the most part, love doing it. It is a great paying job, the opportunities for advancement are almost endless, and if I may say so myself, its just plain fun to get paid to go out into the desert and hunt people!! That is why I joined the BP. I get paid to hunt bad guys. We are all aware of whats happening out there. The problem doesn't lie just in our laps. We are just dealing with the byproduct of a corrupt govt. Mexico cannot and will not take care of its social plight and therefore, these people are swarming over here to make a better life for themselves. The majority of these people are just wanting a better way of life for themselves and their families. The sad part is, the gangbangers, the drug runners, middle easterners, and every other exotic you can think of are what makes the border a dangerous place. They have taken over along the border and the Mexican Govt has turned the other way and let it happen. Sometimes the Mex Govt IS THE ONE WHO IS ORGANIZING AND DOING ALL THIS!! I have seen it with my own eyes. With all this said about Mex and its crap Govt, Washington also has its own set of problems and screw ups. They have the ol' " lets look the other way and maybe the problem will just go away" syndrome. Immigration is not on Washington's priority list of things to fix. Because they aren't in it everyday like everyone who lives in Sou AZ, the immigration problem gets thrown into the stack of "honeydo's" to be done later. Until it becomes a priority, the problem WILL continue. And the BP will continue to fight a losing battle. The only reason you are seeing the issue of illegal immigration right now an a national level is because there are a few men and women out there who have had enough of all this and decided to bring the nation up to speed as to what the heck is gong on out there. They call themselves the MinuteMen. Yes, they may be a pain in all our butts.. ie. they are out in the desert during hunts, they are CONSTANTLY CALLING THE BP when we are trying to work , BUT, I for one think that what they are doing is ruffling enough feathers on both sides of the border that it is finally being seen for what it is: A HUGE PROBLEM. I thank them for that. I really wish I could share some of the stories I have on this forum, but its just not a smart thing for me to do. I hope I can meet alot of you at the dinner this weekend and I will tell you how it really is out there. Just remember, you are not alone in the desert in Southern AZ when you think you are. To think about it may give some of you the creeps, but its the truth. There WILL be illegals out there... And drug runners, and coyotes, and so on. Be careful and watch your 6. But by all means, enjoy the desert and the hunts that we ae fortunate enough to have. Don't let this deter you from enjoying YOUR state and its great outdoors. Just be vigilant and mindful of whats out there.

I'm thinking a Sat. night dinner and a few brews would be nice!! So, Sat it is, I guess. Any objections to Sat.??? Maybe at 8 pm.. That would give everyone enough time to get out of the hills. Its getting dark around 6:30 now.

Looks like 36B to me.. Ahh, reminds me of work!!! Oh wait, thats cuz I'm down there every day working in that crazy place!!!
  12. I'm a supporter of our President, but even I had to laugh at this one!! Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed." "OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!" His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands. Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

    Camping situation

I think we are going to be camping off of either mile post 14 or 16 to the west. We will be in a 5th wheel with TX plates on it. There will be a silver F150 x-cab, and possibly my silver F350 with TX plates. I will let ya'll know for sure though... It should be a good time. I can't wait.
  14. Well, I just got back from our annual pronghorn hunt and I must say that we had the best year yet. The day before season opened, we videoed a buck that we all decided was a shooter. That night we all decided to draw straws to see who would get a crack at him. My buddy Kevin was the was the lucky winner of the straw draw. The next morn, he was in the same draw and Kevin ended his hunt in the first 20 minutes of opening morning. He was a super buck!! He ended up grossing 84 3/8ths as is, and would have grossed 85 4/8ths if he hadn't broke off. He is 17 5/8ths on his longest horn. What a buck... Now to my hunt. We spent the remainder of the opening morn caping and quatering Kevins buck. We started my hunt at around 2 PM. We saw lots of up and comers but nothing that really piqued my interest. Late that evening, we found a buck with a big group of does that we got close enough to that we could get a good look at him. We both thought he was right on the 80" mark. I thought it over and decided to pass because it was just the opening day. Nothing else was seen that day. That night, I kept going over that buck in my head and kept thinking he was better than what we thought he was. I decided that if we could find him the next morn, I would take him. Well, the next morn, we found him in pretty much the same area. They were in a bowl that had a hill off to the east that we used as cover. We circled around them and snuck up the hill to where we thought they would be below us. We got to the top of the hill and sure enough, they were right at 220 yds down the hill. The bad news was that they intantly saw us. They started getting antsy, and I decided to take the shot. The .223 WSM barked, and I had my 05 buck. He was a pleasent suprise to all of us. He was ALOT more massive than we had anticipated. And longer too! He was 16 7/8ths on his long side and ended up with a gross score of 83 2/8ths as is. Had he not broken, he would have grossed 85 even. Not bad for a buck that I passed on the day before!! It was a good goat hunt to say the least.... Here is Kev's toad.. And here is mine...

    Back from our goat hunt...

Well, I guess I'll let the cat out of the bag. We are taking these caliber of bucks in Texas. TX is often an overlooked state when it comes to quality goat hunts. But, if you can find a ranch in the right part of the state, and that part of the state gets ample rainfall at the right time, you can and will find B&C quality heads out there. Now, lets all keep that juicy tidbit of info under our hats!! Here are a few pics of some of the bucks that we took last year. The quality was just as good this year as last. This years goat... 85 gross had he not broke, 83 2/8ths as is... My 04 buck... 82 4/8ths gross... Mass is everything on goats!!! Here is one more look at Kevins buck from this year... 85 4/8ths unbroke, 84 even as is... And here is his 04 buck.. he was an amazing looking goat. He looks absolutely huge because he just doesn't hook back in at all.. 83 6/8ths.. And here is a pic of Kevins wife's buck she also took last year.. 82 4/8ths.. Her first buck...

    Back from our goat hunt...

Casey, ask and you shall receive. Here is a pic of Kev with my Swaro 15's on the tripod and his Swaro 15's around his neck. Man, I sure am glad I saved enough scratch to buy those binos and tripod. i went ahead and bought a brand new set. I got a great deal on them. And Casey found the tripod setup for me. You can't ask for a better setup for coues and goat hunting. I can't wait to use it in a few weeks on the coues hunt. Hopefully, there will be a Booner in the FOV on opening morning..

    Just some shed pics

Here is a few pics of me this morn holding a set of sheds my buddy found on his lease down in Mx. These babys are MASSIVE!! They pretty much have everything you could ask for in a Coues... Mass, bladed beams, split G2's, and kickers. They are a really good find. He has several pics of this buck on the hoof as well.... Enjoy...

    Just some shed pics

Any guesses on what he scores? It is a really hard rack to judge, just on the fact that he is really massive, has a split G2 ( broken), and a big kicker on the other side. I never really thought to score them as sheds, but what would you guys think he'd go???

Here is a pic of those same sheds on the form getting ready to be mounted.... I think it'll come out nicely...
