    Hunt Report

Coues 4X4, I only spend about 65% of my time laying around with the sombrero on, taking siestas en la playa... The rest of the time, I'll be in the hills... See, ask Daryl... that danged rock is a bit of a hike to get to!! But its worth it for sure.. Pretty nice view from up there..

    what sucks more

the best memory I have of road hunters is.... We were mountain lion hunting with hounds in NM one year and it happened to be archery muley season.. We were headed up a well maintained dirt road that leads up into the hills, roading the dogs getting them ready. Along the way, we pass a slow rolling MINIVAN that had no less than 6 "bowhunters" crammed in the back, all camoed uo, with even their faces painted!! They had the side sliding door wired open so they could get off a quck shot if need be.. bowhunting for the big 'un!! Hard Core hunters.. I had never laughed so hard in all my life!!

    Check this Monster out

I'm thinking that this dude is full of the CACA... looks almost like a mid western WT that he brought to the desert to take a pic with and post it saying he found it in AZ.. I'm not buying this one.

    My Alaska trip

WOW!!! Thanks Amanda for the amazing pics! Alaska is such a wonderful place... And thanks for the Ptarmigan pics.. I love those birds.. beautiful.. one of these days I would love to hunt all three species with the mutts.. i hear they are a great bird to trian dogs on because they are basically unhunted and will hold great for pups.. and they are just plain beautiful to look at!! Again, thanks for the great pics! Glad to see you had a great trip.

    Hey Scottyboy IA ????

Naw... not any busier than any other times.. if anything, its a tad bit slower than usual because of the NG down there now.. Just keep that peace maker in the pack and have 'er ready just in case.. Other than that, go out and enjoy yourself. Plenty of Coues to been seen and hunted. Any ideas on where you'll be?? Maybe all of us Nov tag holders need to get together for an evening.. have a few frosties and maybe a plate of fajitas or somethin' delicious! Let me kow!!

    OUTDOORSMANS TRIPOD

Daniel, got the tripod today! Thanks bro.. hope I am looking at a 120" with it in a couple of weeks!! Thanks for the great deal..
  14. Made a morning with Firstcoues on Fri and took the kid out on his first Scalie quail hunt.. We loaded up right at daybreak and I took him to a few of my "secret" spots that are always good for a few Scalie coveys.. Well, it didn't take long. Got a few few good points from the pups and Casey was successfull in getting a couple of birds.. After that, we went to a diff area and got into a bunch of Gambels... none of which are dead because of our shooting! By that time, it was getting really warm, so we took the pups to their favorite swimming hole and let them cool off abit before heading in! All in all, a pretty good morning! This is what you call "nailing a single down to the floor!" "They're in the ocotillos Dad!!" Casey with a couple of his very first AZ Scaled quail and a couple of hot and happy bird dogs! And a couple of rare and elusive AZ swamp boogers.. they are only seen when there is an explosion of duckweed growing on stock tanks..

    My Nov. buck

here is a pic of the "weener" buck I've been watching up until now.. He may look like a photoshopped TX buck, but don't be fooled!! That my friend is 100% pure AZ coues..Gauranteed!! I took that pic thru the Swaros last week while out scouting.. I've got him patterned in the last few weeks..He's staying in the flats..I hope all of those Oct hunters don't spook him up into the hills.. You know, it just gets too hard to hike around those hills.. If I take him, I'll probably just do a horn mount to hang my caps on.. You know, with all the points and all, it should work out nicely!! So, don't be shootin' my buck!!
  16. been on every hunting site now bout 100 times over.. canned lion hunting at its best.. wish that cat woulda tore that "hunter" a new kulo..

    My Nov. buck

You know this!! Actually, I don't have anymore pics of that particular buck, BUT, I do have pics of another buck I've been keeping tabs on for awhile.. I took this pic from my trail cam that I hid next to the Industrial Sized... make that TEXAS sized super duper protien feeder I hauled (on my back mind you) into the remote canyon where I'm keepin this dinker.. It ain't no step for a stepper.. I think I'll just end up shooting the buck in my first pic with my rifle and then come Jan 1st, I'll just go ahead and put this cull down with my bow. Again, don't be fooled by the pics.. I took this pic in the nastiest, manzanita covered slopes I could find to put my feeder.. ahhmm.. salt lick.. So, don't be hunting my bucks!! Gentlemen, I do trust you'll keep a tight lip when someone tries to pull any info from you about these bucks.. they're already spoken for!!

    hunting solo

Casey, or you could just not hunt alone!! Not only could all that stuff mentioned above happen, but its just plain BORING to me!!! I always liked having mi amigos or my old man there on my hunts.. makes for a more memorable hunt to me.. Besides, those deer get awful heavy carrying out all by your lonesome!

    what sucks more

and I thought I was the only one there for awhile!! BTW, I know to never ask for ANY info from you guys on here... I'd be relentlessly persecuted !!! You guys do have some really valid, and annoying points about those road hunters as well though.. Lazy slugs!!
