    now that was funny Ultramag!!!
  9. Here are a few pics I took yesterday out in the Mearns hills.. It was a horrible morning for getting out in the hills, but still better than being at work!! The wind was FIERCE, it was extremely dry with NO humidity in the air for the mutts to find any scent, and it was just plain dusty!! But, we went anyways.. it was just the family on this hunt... the Wifey and I with the kiddos out for the day to get out and get some dirt on my brand new pickup, and find a covey or 2 of birdies for the pups... We only ended up with 3 coveys by lunch and 2 birds to show for it (my POOR shooting!), and we decided that was good enough and to call it a day.. Each dog had one covey find of their own and I stumbled into one.. We still had a great morning hunt in spite of the adverse conditions! Here I am walking in on the first covey of the day.. Here is Penny with a hard won bird.. She pointed this covey solo, and on the rise, I barely managed to get a pellet into this bird.. I watched him go down, but I could tell he was barely hit.. Penny stayed on the trail of this bird till she caught him halfway back up the side of the slope! She caught up with him, and brought him back to hand! I was so proud of her, and the bird was so flawless, that I decided to keep him for a mount.. wife was really proud of her little girl!! What a beautiful bird... my all time favorite game bird. And here is Virgil's covey find of the day with Penny backing and your's truely walking in.. I snapped this shot of these girlies after we woke them up from their mid day nap.. I wish I could have gotten a shot of that buck Casey and I saw last week!! WOW!! thanks for lookin' guys!!
  10. thanks guys!! you guys just let me know a date and we'll do a hunt! I'm headed home to TX for Xmas this year on the 21st.. gonna do a bit of Bobwhite hunting and maybe even a whitey hunt as well if I can find the time.. I'll be back on the 27th.. After that, we'll plan a Mearns hunt down south!! Hopefully, we'll get some moisture down there and then the dogs will have the advantage! How cool would a Mearns hunt in the snow be?? I would LOVE to do that at least once. BTW Doug, the new truck drives like a dream!! Hurts the pocketbook though!! I can't wait to point it east and hit the highway and head to TX for a few days! Thanks for askin'!
  11. Doug, are you sure that this wasn't Casey?? Remember gentlemen, ALWAYS remove the laser bore sight BEFORE firing the rifle.. It could lead to some minor damage if not done correctly!! I think I found another candidate for this year's Darwin Awards..

    Mearns Hunt with Scottyboy

Had a good time this weekend.. Got into plenty of birds and the mutts did really good, considering the dry conditions.. I believe we had 16 coveys for the 2 days. Not too shabby!! Got to hunt with my old man again, Casey, Doug, and one of my best buds, Rich. Here are a few pics I snapped over the course of the two days... 1st covey of the '06 season!! And Penny NAILED them to the ground!! Virgil honoring.. Casey with a mess of Mearns from the first days hunt.. A mature male with Casey's O/U.. I like that combo.. nice guns and Mearns roosters. Does it get any better?? messin' around with the camera.. i like how this pic came out. A few birds from the second day's hunt.. INTENSITY.... TEAMWORK.... right after I took this quick snapshot, I was trying to move on in and get a shot. Ended up busting my butt and right when I fell, the covey split!! That hillside was STEEP! here is what Mearns country does to a flat-lander who lives at sea level in TX!! My Dad was ahuffin' and apuffin' this entire weekend!! But he made it! I took this pic from the top of the canyon, looking back at him.. laughing while he was suckin' wind!! I thought it was funny, but he didn't at the time!! I'll be headed south from now to the end of season about once a week.. this is what I live for out here in AZ. thanks for lookin!!

    What's Scarier?

I gotta get to work now... I'll check in on this fasinating topic before I head out into the desert tonight for another fun-filled evening of catching all the illegals I can!!!!

    What's Scarier?

Go back and read what you've just written.. What you have just written was called a "senario".. if you need me to read that to ya a little slower, I will. I know, it's kinda hard to grasp for a "slower" person like yourself, but you can do it.... BUT, its just that.. a made up "what if" story.. Well pal, what we are dealing with is not make believe.. it's real.. sorry to pop your fantasy bubble.. wake up and smell the trash in the deserts... I love how whenever the subject of immigration is brought up and a liberal gets wind that you are white and oppose what is going on, you are automatically deamed a "racist".. the said name of "Juan" was used in place of the more commonly used name of "Joe".. Ever heard of the saying "Regular Joe??" I have been around ALOT of Mexican Nationals, but cannot recall one of them EVER using the name Joe.. not even once.. But Juan?? Yeah, I've heard that one a few times..BUT, because I decided to instead insert the name Juan into the saying, I am now the Grand PooBa in the KKK... real mature.. lets all sit around and call people racists. You're surely gonna win this war on immigration all by your big bad self with that winning attitude.. WHAT A TOOL!!! BTW, the only white robes I wear are called Ralph Lauren boxer briefs.. sorry to disappoint you.... but the wife LOVES them.. I think if you are looking for a more like-minded group of guys to yak with and cry wolf with, La Raza or Humnaos Derechos probably have a chat forum on their website as well.. But I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the vast majority on this site have the same outlook on this as I do, for the most part.. We'll see ya out in the deserts while we're hunting and you're out filling up the big blue water tanks.. come and say hi.

    What's Scarier?

cry me a freakin' river!!! an illegal here in this country is just that...an illegal.. I don't give a dang why he's here... and anyone who gives them charity like that is should be held in contempt of the law as well.. tell your girlfriend thanks for contributing to the problem.... You say that she is "helping" them to become legal residents? I got some news for you and her..They don't care about becoming legal residents!! All of the legal residents I know did all of the work that was required to become a resident way before coming into this country...not AFTER they already illegally entered into this country.. Why do you think during the ralleys, they were all PROUDLY waiving their MEXICAN FLAGS?? Because they have no loyality towards this country!!! Because all they want is to come here and make that cash and send it back home. They could care less about becoming productive members of this society.. its all about the money.. I always ask the groups I catch what they think of Pres. Bush... and I always get the same answer.. a resounding BOOOO! And then I ask the same of their beloved El Presidente Fox... YEAHHHH!!! They have no interest at all in becoming a citizen here in our country.. they just want to make the money and send it back home..if you think otherwise, you are a fool and have been lied to so many times that you are actually believing what you hear.. And another thing, how does your girlfriend know who she is dealing with?? Does she just go on the faith and honor system.. Last time I checked, I couldn't tell the difference between a regular Juan, a dope smuggling Juan, or a child raping and wife murdering Juan just by looking at their faces... Does she have an FBI fingerprint database to run records on all of her " good and kind hearted people" so she knows who she is dealing with?? If not, then how the heck are you gonna convince me that all those people she is "helping" are just regular folks looking for a better life.. there is ALOT of people coming across our borders with more sinister pasts than you'll ever know.

    Got My First Buck

Christian, like I told you when I saw your buck, you did a great job this hunt... congrats on a great deer, especially your first! and thanks for helping us glass that one morning. Even though we saw a ton of deer, we never did see any shooters. And I'm dead tired from this hunt!! Had to have walked at least a good 30 miles in the hills..

    2006 Kodiak Alaska Trip

Great pics Doug.. and congrats on the deer.... BUT, I think the best trophy you got on that trip was the Harlequin ducks.. I could go up there and JUST do a duck hunt for those guys!! I have always wanted to do a sea duck hunt..
