I haven't "been in the field" for over a year now.. .plain clothes and unmarked trucks are the only way to go... sorry to hear about your incident. But, its just like anywhere else in life.. you'll find an ahole under every rock if you look hard enough.. Especially in any LE type profession.. I know, I gotta work with them everyday.

super cool pics Doug! I bet that was a trip to be remembered!

good words to live by... -
I knew somebody on here would appreciate them! The senoritas sure did!!
-
What am I doing?? Well, I'm in the gym 5 days a week, and run 3 miles on the same days.. That way when season rolls around, I'll have long since been ready. I do this mostly for my climbing habit though.. it just happens to benifit my hunting as well. As soon as it cools off, its back in the mountains again.

Nice find Amanda!! -
I see them almost everyday down in the lower 36 units while I'm at work.. I also used to see them in south TX when I would frequent that part of the state.. cool birds! We used to call them Mexican eagles, even though that isn't they're true name. thanks for the pic! Did you take it on the Rez?? Looks like an imm. bird.. The fully mature ones are really brightly colored and easily seen from far away.. The white on them gets really bright. Cool pic! I always try and get pics of them, but either don't have my camera ready, or they fly off right when I get ready!! I want to take a pic of one on top of a saguaro.

Do we have any Head Bangers??
Kilimanjaro replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
The Squizz or Octane (Sirius) are the best on sat. radio!!!!! Octane is good, but I thought you said HARD??? If so, you gotta have channel 27 put in the lineup.. Heart Attack is the real hard stuff on Sirius!! I can only take it in small doses.. The three best on Sirius are Octane, Alt Nation, and Faction... the Aussie dude Jason Ellis on Faction in the afternoons is the funniest dude I've ever heard on the radio! -
not so many hunters....
-
Agreed!! He is an AWESOME looking little bird.. I've never seen one that looked like that.. thanks for sharing the pic!! I am a bird fanatic and love to see new and different species like that.

Bull, for a second there I thought you were showing us a report from one of Casey's classes.. that writing looks just like his!! Casey, you know I had to.. -
You outta see the roads in the TX hill country.. You literally can't go a 1/2 mile without seeing a dead deer that had been hit.. It really is beyond belief in some areas..

Kilimanjaro replied to AZP&Y's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
another cool hike Doug.. I've crawled all over those mountains and still haven't seen a bear.. I have seen the Gould's a few times though.. Nice shed as well! -
Classic.. congrats on the summit!! I really like that hike.. I've done it twice now since moving here to AZ. First time was to add another state high point to the list, and the second was a training hike for Mt Rainier this past spring.

Draw Results Available Online
Kilimanjaro replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
drew Oct. muley hunt in 30B.. I'll probably be eating this tag in favor of a more flavorful hunt up in MT this fall for private land WT.. But, should that hunt fall thru because of unforeseen circumstance, I've still got this one to go on. another sheep point in the hat... -

Does anybody know of any cabins I could see about renting next weekend in the Alpine/Greer area?? I am wanting to get the heck outta the heat and do a bit of fishing and relaxing in a nice cabin in the cool mountain air.. I would like to try and find a place that is really nice.. I looked online and found tons that are "run of the mill" places, but nothing that really piqued my interest.. The Red Setter Lodge looked really nice.. I was thinking maybe there.. Any ideas guys?? Are there any that you could recomend? And maybe a place to wet a line and catch a bite or two?? thanks!
