border patrol agent held at gunpoint in u.s. by mexican military
Kilimanjaro replied to russd's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
You guys are suprised because??? This crap happens ALL the time!! Its only that this one made the news that anyone has even mentioned it! -
Mr Hungarian pa'tridge, you really know how to get under my skin.. But you live in some unbelievable country.. rarely do you hold well for a point.. even if the pups are well mannered.. and when you do hold, it's never for too awful long!! who's honoring who??? the land you inhabit is sometimes SO damned windy that a pointer can't even get his tail all the way up and I can't keep the camera steady!! WHEW!! I've gone after you many, many times with the intent of doing damage to your local population, but I rarely find you alone.. Often, all I see of you is your rear end going mach 10.. luckily for me and the mutts, your prairie breathern are much more well mannered. and sometimes on those same trips, I don't even see you at all!! (This was yesterday's hunt!! I went out looking only for Huns, and came home with a limit of Sharpies!! dang you Huns!!) But once every now and again, redemption is mine!! They say that chukar hunting is all about revenge.. I can honestly say that his cousin the Hun is now on that list as well!! But as much as I love to hate you, how can I not love the challange you put up every round we go at it!!! You are a truely worthy advisary!! Gents, watch yerselves around Mr Hun.. He'll getcha!! Hope you guys enjoy the pics!! And have a Merry Christmas!!

Good call! I'm still in line for one of those bad boys as well! -
Up until this past Jan., I had'nt had a dip in over 2 years.. then with all the CRAP I was dealing with with the move to MT and back, the housing market blues, blah, blah, blah, I broke down and bought a can one COLD night up in MT. And I've been going again since then. I've decided to start weaning myself off the stuff here in the next two weeks..I'm down to only one dip a day right now. That way when I go to Africa for 3 weeks in 2 weeks from today, I'll already be halfway to quitting and I wont take any with me over there and that'll give me the opportunity to kick the habit for good. They dont sell the stuff over there, so without any way to get some, that will be a perfect time to stop. FOR GOOD THIS TIME!! I tell ya, the stuff is hard to quit.. Not so much because it's an "addicting drug" as the whole thing is addicting.. the habits that go along with dipping, the cravings after a good dinner, after a good morning cup of coffee, or when your sitting behind the Swaro's on the side of a hill, etc. are harder to break than the actual nicotine addiction itself. That and the damned stuff tastes SO GOOD! But I'm done. Its a usless habit that does me no benefit whatsoever. That and I dont want to go down like that. Thanks for all the posts on this topic. It's really fueled me to kick the habit once again.

Now THAT'S a set of trail cam pics!! those are awesome! -
Dang man. First off the guy welcomes him aboard. Second he offers some advice possibly to post the topic somewhere else. Last, he welcomes him aboard again. I don't think the guy was trying to offend no one. I know he has been a good contributor to many discussion. How would it be to offend someone else and run him off? Just like you say, you say potato, he says potatoe. Don't necessarily think he was playin' billy bad a**. Ya know what.. you're right. He has been nothing but a good guy here on the site. Coues7, my apologies. I guess i slept on the wrong side of the bed last night and when I got up this morn and read that, i got a little fire under the collar. No harm meant, bud.

Dude, what the he!! are you talking about the pictures of the rifle was taken on a shelf/nook at the end of my hallway. I've tried to convince the wife that the rifle would make the perfect piece of art to be displayed there but she's not buying it. It SHO' looks like area on the side of a shower to me ,but hey, I'm just going off what I see in the pic!!

WHAT A BUCK!!!!! That is a beautiful coues. thanks for sharing him with us. Great pic as well!! -
So whadya know... this turned out to be a good ol' regular conversation here on CWT regardless of wheather or not you dip at all.. dang "bandwidth wasters"... Good onya guys!!! You make me proud!
-
yep...tasty, tasty manure in a can. All this talk has me wanting a big ol slobberin' dip right now
-
everything in moderation... too much work, no excercise, stress, drinking too much, over eating, bad diet practices, driving too fast, weather, crazy people, can all kill ya too.. a pinch or two every now and again wont hurt ya in the least.
-
Great looking mount buddy!! Thats a great buck as well!!
-
From the looks of that first pic, it looks like you've taken to showering with your new toy as well!!! Now Larry, we all know new guns are fun and all, but dude, there's a time and place for all that fun!! Showering with it isnt going to help out your groupings any!

Sounds like everything that coulda gone wrong did!! Sorry boys!! Tough break with everything that went wrong.

Checked the cameras today
Kilimanjaro replied to thegunsmith2506's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
You mean your cameras were still there?? Great bull, BTW. -
You say potatoe, I say potato... I dont remember your name on the Mod. list. Let the guy post whatever he feels like posting. If you dont like it, don't read it. There's lots'o crap posted these boards that "wastes bandwidth".. Doesn't mean that it can't be posted. Personally, I consider snuff on a hunt esential gear.. Wouldn't be caught on a hunt without it. JHAM357, dont worry about him.. you'll learn that on these online boards, alot of times there are too many "chiefs" and not enough indians. As for me, I like plain ol' regular Cope.

Overkill?? um, YES.

maybe I will switch my XL to a large then!

I know 3 (make that 4 with Jim being bit as well) people personally who've gotten bit from a rattler. One of them is my uncle. Got tagged on the shin when he bent over to pick up a dove on Sept. 1 of 2002. I was right there. Doesnt mean I want to exact revenge on all the snakes in the world. Just wrong place at the wrong time. heck, a co-worker (a retired chief) of mine got bit on the priairie's of MT and DIED 2 years ago! It was his own stupidity. He shot the thing and decided it would be cool to pick it up. Tagged him and he died that night in the hospital. Again, wrong place at the wrong time. I see snakes ALL the time. I work in the desert at night in some of the most snake infested places in this state!! Ive come close to stepping on lot's of them! I grew up in west TX where snakes are probably more common than even here!! If I was to get bit, would I go out on a killin' spree? No. And dont get me wrong.. Ive killed a number of them as well.. But only because they were near my home, near the dogs, etc.. not just for the fun of it. If you're trollin' to get me in a pissing match, you've got it. But regardless of what I say, or what you say, we arent going to change each other's mind. No matter what you try to tell me as to your "reasoning and logic" is behind killing every snake you see, I am going to disagree with you.. I am passionate about hunting more than your average hunter, and do ALOT of hunting, but I cant stand that crap. Killing something to just let it lay and not do anything with it at all. What if someone came on here bragging about how they went out and "blasted" a few deer just for the heck of it? I bet you wouldn't stand for that, would ya? I just don't understand the logic on the boards on how you can go out and blast the heck out of a snake, wolf, lion, gila monster, or whatever the topic may be and be praised!! It blows my mind. Nice shed BTW!! That is a nice desert muley for sure!

What did the graphics place come up with on the front logo?? BTW, I'll take an ash XL. I told you at the picnic that a long sleeved tee would do good on here!! They haven't said yet. Said it might take until Tues to rework that one and get it back to me. you are going to take ash? not orange???? Was that Large serene green shirt too small for you? This time you want XL? I think these run larger than the others, but I am not sure. Go with the sizing chart linked in the first post to determine size. Amanda I already have an orange one!!! I tried the orange short sleeved one on and it fits good, I'm just worried that its going to shrink when I wash it. Hence the XL on the ash.. Should the ash XL fit, trust me, I'll be getting that orange one as well!!!

I'll be the first to take Grong Orange to Africa then!!!
-
any of those small logos would be good for the front, Amanda.. I think we are all in agreeance that most folks on here like the skull logo on the back of the shirt with a small logo on the front... And it sounds like we ALL like the coueswhitetail.com down the sleeves. Make some up!! I want to be the first one on here to go global with the CWT logo!! I'll take one to Africa with me when I leave in a couple of weeks!!
