    Swarovski tripod

Has anyone on here used the Swaro tripod before?? I'd like to get some input on it before I plunk down the mula.. Is the weight just too much to deal with? While I'm looking for a heavier tripod model, I don't need to own one made of cast lead! I'm mostly wanting a "heavier" model to use in conjunction with The Claw for the upcoming muzzleloader hunt. I currently own an Outdoorsman, but its a smaller model and is far too light to be used in that manner, although its a GREAT tripod for packing in the hills! Also, how is the head that comes with the Swaro tripod? Is it worth using, or just buying the tripod without the head at all.. Open to suggestions guys.. Thanks!

    Swarovski tripod

Thanks guys.. I knew they were heavy (7.5lbs), but wantedto hear some of the other good/bad things about them as well before I decided.. Shane, I think I will let Cade set me up with the Bogen with a fluid head with The Claw as well.. That'll be a nice set up for sure. Cade, if ya read this, PM me with some info if you can! Thanks guys for the reviews and opinions.

    The Claw

Sounds good Cade.. I will see you at the ADA dinner with full intentions of winning that bid!! Should I get out-bid, looks like I'll pick one up from you the good old fashioned way! Either way, I have full intentions of owning a CLAW this summer.. Thanks again!

    The Claw

My gosh, what a BULL!! THAT'S what I'll be looking for with this tag!! Looks like I'm gonna have to get The Claw.. Been wanting one, now I have the perfect reason to buy it. I'll be in touch very soon, Cade.. I'll be starting to practice with the muzzy in ernest within the next couple of weeks, and would like to get to know the in's and out's of the claw as well during this preparation time period. And thanks for the kind words as well! Eric, thats a great price for sure!! Any upcoming events where Cade and his guys will be setting up in the near future?? How 'bout the ADA dinner in June, or maybe the SCI local chapter dinner here in early July?

    Rattlesnakes are getting more active

I came within 2 inches of stepping on a blacktail in Mexico last month on the coues hunt.. After Chef had missed it by an inch or 2 as well!! Only reason I didnt step right into him was he gave a sluggish rattle after Hector roused him a bit with his boot.. Close one Amanda!! I saw my uncle get bit in the shin on the opening day of dove season about 10 years ago.. He was walking out to pick up a dove, and stepped right into the middle of a 5 footer that was streached out in some knee high weeds.. It got him mid shin area.. He said it was the worst pain he's ever experienced in his life.

    The Claw

It is, but I was referring to the break-open style of ML'ers.. That one is an inline.

Gunna buy a new pair of boots.... need advice.

I was in the same boat as cmc.. I tried a pair of kennetreks on when I was at the Dallas Safari Club show in Jan. and they were great... I shoulda just bought them right then and there.. But I didn't. Now that I am in the market for a new pair, I'm finding out that the closest place to Tucson is in Flagstaff that carries them, it looks like I'll be ordering them. They are a great fitting boot. No places in PHX that carries them IN STOCK?? I'll be there this weekend to get frontstuffer supplies at Cabelas and I'd like to try a pair on again before forking over the cash if at all possible..Anywhere in the valley? Tried the Meidel boots as well a few years back.. Just didnt fit my feet right.

    The Claw

How would this thing work with a muzzleloader.. more specifially a break-open TC?? I'm kicking the idea around to get one of these to take on the elk hunt.

    draw results

Got to confirm online yesterday that I will be indeed hunting rutting bulls in unit 27 with a muzzleloader in hand come end of September. Can't believe it! This the 1st elk tag Ive ever drawn.. Never taken a bull. I always told myself that I'd hold out until I get a great tag..and this was the only permit I put in for every year.. Well, I got in in 7 years, which is ALOT earlier than I expected! The hunting Gods have smiled upon me in 2009 for sure.. Gonna make the most of this tag and go for the big boys..

    They are up!!

I wonder who you'll be helping?? I gave it a few days to let the pandamonium die down so I wouldnt have to battle the phone lines..got in within the first few trys and it paid off in dividends to be patient for me.. Guys, I drew my dream tag for bull elk!! I'm still on cloud nine! Unit 27 early season rut muzzleloader hunt!! Chef, I need ya there buddy!

    Swarovski doubler

Dont do it!! It is the only thing that Swaro made that isn't worth the box it comes in!! Ive looked though them before, and they're worthless.. You see them for sale all the time because folks buy them and realize they've been duped! Save your cash, friend...

    mormons and big love

After I say this, I'm done with this thread.. Bird dog, the reason some folks on here have to use passive agressivness as a technique is for the survival of the post!! I for one, wasn't knowingly using any passive agressive techniques, but had I said what I REALLY wanted to, I would have been tarred, feathered, and then banished from the community for hurting too many feelings!! Biting my tongue is hard for me, although "arguing" on a webite such as this is like stepping into a boxing ring and then taking 50% swings with those oversized gloves on!! If folks here were allowed to say what they REALLY wanted to, it'd be a bareknuckled alley brawl!! But that wouldn't get anything accomplished but pissing eachother off severely. You can tell what people are trying to convey in their statements..with or without the "padding".. It was all of our's responsibility to keep this as civil as possible, and to that we all have been successful. As I said, I'm through with this thread, but I stand by everything I said and have no reason to apologize to anyone.. I never disrepected anyone, nor anyone's beliefs anywhere on this thread. Nor have I seen anyone else disrepect anyone on here. To state hard fact or ask for hard fact is not slinging mud (athough some make it out to be). I'm off to scout for my 27 muzz tag!!

You're right!! A bunch of you SHOULD be ashamed of yourselves!! I agree 100% with that statement!! So let's now see how many will fully agree with Mr Coues n Sheep, and yet despise me for saying the EXACT same thing word for word!! Its a two way street, folks...

    mormons and big love

You have GOT to be kidding me!!! As it has already been stated, the bait was in the original post.. If anyone took the bait, I'm guilty as charged. But enough of this "fight" starting.. Let's get back to the original origins of this thread. The thread started by the original poster who took it upon himself to "inform" us non-mormons that the show Big Love is not a truthful depiction of actual mormon practices. Correct? No one made him post that. And once that was out there, I, along with many others, replied. No one in any post was "trying to start a fight" or to degrade anyone's personal beliefs. He (the original poster) even directed the original post TO us non mormons, in an effort to try and educate us as to the "real" LDS and the FLDS, etc... Go back and read it!! But the truth is, as Mr. Jonathan elloquintly backed up with cold hard FACTS, is that polygamy IS in fact a part of the (recent) history of the religion. Am I right? And there are branches of that very same religion that STILL practice the original teachings of the LDS religion!! AND THAT IS WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT, PEOPLE!! It seems to me that polygamy is one of many dirty little skeletons in the closet of the LDS religion. And if you are to bring it up, man, watch out!! You guys get ANGRY!! But hey, it was a mormon who brought it up in the first place, guys!! We didn't ask for a history leasson from him! He took it upon himself to put it out there so we all knew that the show was "wrong".. And then the ganging up began in ernest..

I respect this site just fine, thank you very much. I'm glad you're done though. I'm growing tired of you trying to throw dirt on me under the guise of this topic. I'll say it one last time. I've never disrespected anyone on here. If YOU took it that way, that's your problem.

Your skin seems mighty thin on this subject... That's your opinion on the matter.. I'm OK with that.. But that's MY opinion on it as well. You wont ever change my perspective, just as I wont yours.. Only difference is is that you sound as if you're TRYING to do just that. My comments were just that. Observations Ive noticed when the mormon religion is included in disscussion on here. Here's another OBSERVATION for you. Ive never seen the Hindus, Catholics, Islamics, Protestants, Presbyterians, Buddists, etc on this site get into this kind of "disscussion" over their religions on this site.. And yet Ive seen this kind of "disscussion" brought up on more than 1 occassion on here in the past.. Again, thats MY observation! Thats why its best to leave the disscussion of politics and religion to a face to face talk. Then again, I've got all day..... This is one topic where my red blooded Republican self leans out to the liberal side.

Hey Brian, thanks for unlining those words I wrote. I musta forgot to put the emphesis.. Glad you caught that... So, fill me in on what I stereptyped in that comment? I was mearly commenting on what Ive seen in the last 5 years when the odd arguement or disscussion of religion comes up on here. So what's stereotypical about that? All you did by doing that is re-enforce what I said.. When the LDS religion is even mentioned, the members of that church go onto the offensive on this site!! GUILTY AS CHARGED!! Relax dude.. Nobody is bagging on your beliefs here!
