Ive got Casey's right now.. I gonna give it a workover at long distances at LITTLE antelope in Africa in 2 1/2 weeks.. Casey's gonna wear out some monkeys and jackels while there with it too. If I like it (and I already do), I'm buying one when I get back and putting it on my 300WSM. I like the turrets WAY better than the B&C Leupold I have on it now. Much more precise and takes almost all the guesswork out.

Congrats on the sheep permit!

Question for Bill Quimby!
Kilimanjaro replied to Snapshot's topic in Hunting and Outdoors-related books
I want to sit down when I'm older and jot all my memories and experiences onto paper and bind them up too, Brent... I think it'll be great to be able to put all that down onto paper instead of just having it float around in my head, just as Jimmer said. -
Advise... Learn the virtue of patience!! This is my 11th yr of trying for a tag.. And I suspect I've barely cracked the surface. The rifle tags are as hard as drawing a sheep tag. If you REALLY want to hunt a Bezoar Ibex (that is the species in NM), save your coins for a few years and go to Turkey and chase em' on the home range.. The billies they are shooting there are just insane. I'm hunting Mid-Asian Ibex next year.. Best of luck with the draw!! If you do draw, you are in for the hunt of a lifetime!

Will do, Bobby. PM me the number you'd like me to call you on.

Good luck Gino.. I hope you get to chase a dagga boy of your own while there.. I've got til Oct 7th to get back to Zim for another go round with nyati! This plainsgame trip we're going on next month is just pouring gas onto the fire. It will be a blast with all the guys going, but I am ready to hunt buff and elephant again. 6 more months. Have a blast!

Have a good one and drink one for me while you're at it!

I'll be there again this year, Bobby... If there's another muskox hunt on the auction block that goes like last year's did, it is MINE!! I am still kicking myself in the butt for not buying that hunt at the price it went onto the auction for last year. Pm me if you need another vol. to help with setting up, etc.

Mexico's a dump of a country.. We ALL know that. It always has been, and until the policies change, it always will be. And the only people Mexico can blame is it's very own Mexican citizens. That country is corrupt from the highest of the high, to the lowliest of peasants. Sadly, the Spanish curse is not only alive and well in Mexico (as it has always been), but it's thriving these days. That said, it's one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world and I would live there in a heartbeat if it was a safe, 1st world country. The Mexican Pacific and Sea of Cortez coastline is my idea of heaven, that and with the seemingly endless hunting opportunites around every bend in the country. I'm all for an onslaught of reverse immigration.. Let's swarm them with a south bound wave and take them over. They can have the frozen north.. Lord knows theres enough of them already here. I could handle a life of relaxation in Guaymas, Mazatlan or Puerto Escondido.. I'd live a happy man living on ceivche and Tecate by the ocean with the sound of waves coming through my bedroom window at night.

I've already started seeing them at work regularly.

Since myself and my out of state buddy didn't draw, does AZ send HIM back his tag app refund and AZ 2010 license to his residence, or will they end up sending it to me since I was the "primary" on the app? Just curious.. I have never put in with an out of stater. We weren't quite sure how it worked. Thanks! Any guesses on when the refunds will be out?
-
Im in the Sierritas quite a bit working.. I'll keep my eyes open out that way.
-
Thanks.. He sent me money, and I just paid for it all with one check, including his AZ licsense. From the sounds of it, the refund will come back to me and I'll just have to send him his non res half.

No kidding.. AZ isn't the only place to chase elk.. Head up to CO or ID and go hunting!! 6 years is nothing compared to guys with max points (or very close to it) and not drawing..

Broken wheel Coming to terms with taking someone's life is something I did LONG AGO. Some Mexican who thinks he can come over here and get away with this is certainly worthy of a free bullet courtesy of your's truely...and I would not lose one second of sleep in doing so. The world would be a better place sans stains like this turd. To rid the world of him and those who mirror him and his likes makes it a better and safer place for ALL of us. I say feed him to the buzzards and worms. Too bad the rancher didnt get one into his gut in the mayley. -
How long has it been since you been drawn for bull elk

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on this bastard and have a bit of "me" time with him. -
I've had to go with the syn socks and moleskin route to wear them.. It works, but I think its kind of a pain to have to always have moleskin on hand just to wear a pair of boots. I think i'm going to go with the molded insole before I give up on them for good. Like I said, they feel good and I like the fit, but man, those heels kill me without moleskin!

Dude, that Tecate girl on your left in the pic is SMOKIN HOT!!! I've never been on that side of the Sea.. Looks cool.

I love mine, but the damned things continue to give me blisters on my heels if I do any extended uphill. I've worn them to death and the things just won't "fix" on the heel. Any suggestions with this problem? The fit feels great with the Kennetreks, but the heel problem just continues to rub me the wrong way, no pun intended!! I've done the Kennetrek and Meindel routes, both with worn out heels in the process. I may just be a Danner guy and have to come to terms with it. I continue to go back to them and have never had an issue with any Danner boot. But then again, I wear them everyday whether at work or hunting.

Sorry Amanda. Losing a pup is tough. They're family. I dread when my 2 go. Best medicine is start fresh with a puppy! Your pup had a good life. That's the best any of us (human and dog alike) can ask for when our sand runs out.

Let's all hope NOT.

Sounds way worse.. What a cluster. Makes Mexico seem like a well oiled machine. I'll pass.
