***SOLD*** McMillian SA stock for Rem. 700 FS
L Cazador replied to 452b264's topic in Classified Ads
Does it include bottom metal in the picture? If so for what caliber? -
A brand I forgot to mention in my post is Fowler. They are American made and a great value. I recently added a Fowler .0000" readout anvil micrometer for checking head expansion on my brass. Great tool to monitor chamber pressure.

I use a barrel stub made with my reamer for measuring bullet base to ogive for sorting bullets and cartridge base to shoulder datum for measuring headspace and setting my dies. With that said I wouldn't trust any caliper but a Mitutoyo or a Starrett that measures to .0000". '

That's partially correct! The case stretches whether you anneal or not. And it's not just the neck that stretches. Brass flows forward and backward not only stretching the entire case but also thickening the neck and making the primer pocket shallower. On my competition brass it's not unusual to run my neck turner and take two or three ten thousands to restore the neck tension I had before. For my competition brass I discard any brass that starts showing irregular neck tension or otherwise starts throwing shots out of the group. The number one culprit in neck tension is actually not work hardening but the accumulation of carbon in the neck!
-
Sorry not completely correct. After several times shot and then resized the brass becomes work hardened and brittle and loses it's elasticity and spring back. Annealing softens the brass so it springs back more like it did when it was new. Some brass like Lapua will go ten to twelve firings without annealing but it all depends on the composition. I anneal with a mapp gas torch, 5-6 seconds on the neck, and turn on a wooden dowel with a drill and then drop on a wet towel. Turn down the lights so you can see the neck turn red. A properly done piece of brass should be bluish not pink or red and should not go past the shoulder body junction.

To know for sure if you're pulling the rifle or disturbing the rifle while pulling the trigger try taking a video of yourself or have someone watch you while you do a dry fire. It won't hurt your rifle to do it several times just don't dry fire with a rimfire rifle as it can break or damage the firing pin. When you can pull the trigger without disturbing the rifle you will be able to execute a proper shot. More than likely what is affecting your long range results is your wind reading ability. Practice in the wind with a wind meter and several wind flags and deploying a chronograph while you doing it is even better. Even the best trigger isn't going to help improper shooting techniques!

Brand? Where are you located? Price? You really don't think we're going to fall for this?!!!!!

Herters is made by Sellier & Bellot for Cabelas. Great shooting in my 40X Rem!

Juan Come On? LOL!

They don't know how many you have or what kind! I don't think they can pass anything but a tax and that is going to be difficult. However the tax thing already has a precedence so that may be a shoe in thanks to all the people that agreed to that! It started with the people that agreed and bought the tax stamp for silencers or class 3.

The best part of the hunt is when you get one! LOL! Couldn't resist that! Turkeys aren't like a lot of other big game hunt's. The first two days or the last two days of the hunt are just as successful. I think that's you're asking? Decoys and a mouth call are best chance of harvest! I forgot weather is next best thing! Good luck!

17 Fireball and 17 Remington are not the same. Check Grafs I saw some there recently.

Hodgedon LiL Gun and AA1680 have both worked well for me with Hornady 60g. flat point and Winchester 75g flat point. Flat points are needed in a lever rifle with tube magazine. Both of these powders give a good fill ratio as compared to Win 296, 4227. AA1680 being a better choice for the heavier 75 grain bullets. In a bolt gun things will work differently but be aware that most of the older bolt guns are rear lug.

Is the handle removable? What condition? Twenty inch HBar? Box and paperwork? When Joe takes over it'll be worth twice what it's worth now. LOL

I'm wondering if someone installed a small diameter firing pin (.062") in that bolt. That would really aggravate the situation instead of making it better.

you guys been smokin the funny stuff? This ad is from 2015, hee, ho, ho, LOL -
I've got two 250 count packs same lot number., 500 count total. Will trade for 2K primers CCI or Federal current manufacture or within the last 5 years. I'm in Tucson.
-
Yep what stomp says. Use large rifle primer pocket brass. That primer flowed into the firing pin hole. If this is new brass it will have excess headspace to begin with. Once fire formed to your chamber it will be a better fit. I hope you're not starting load work until you have fireformed brass first so I'm assuming this has been fire formed.

Contact the your state Bar Association. They can consult free of charge and recommend a lawyer in your area.

That's a one brick of 1K limit. Not a case which is 5K. And they were gone this afternoon!
-
thanks for posting that. I think that's a very credible video and it also answers what's happening to primers and powder.

Will this affect my accuracy??

A popsicle stick with 400 grit wet or dry sand paper should smooth that down.
