Whats the story between highcountrycoues's coues there. Also that is one of the neatest lion pics I have ever seen. -
I said it once and I will say it again. All the youth success is awesome. Great job getting it done.

I am not a fan of the diaphram calls. I would like to stay to a tube call of some kind. I appreciate all your input guys.
-
I have spring break from March 9 to March 18 and will be up north looking for sheds for at least 5 days.
-
Thanks for the info Jim I am sure I will be stopping by his booth and try to talk to him about calling.

If you think about it every number that you pick that is 20 to 29 will come out to 18 every number between 30 to 39 will come out to 27. If you look at the numbers every 9th number has the same symbol. Thats how they do it Took me 6 tried before I figured it out. -
ROTFLMAO!!! I missed your comedy Lark.
-
I have tried that one and it did bring in a bull only it wasn't an elk

That sucks for him but I cannot even imagine poaching an animal that is just a terrible crime. -

I wish I could be down there but I have an interview on Saturday and have previous obligations on Sunday.

Not sure about 24b but they were going crazy in 31 Saturday morning and the rut in 36b wasn't kicking in good until the third weekend in January so my guess would be they are still rutting.
-
Well we were in unit 31 same as last year but it didn't go as planned. We left later friday morning and weren't able to start glassing til noon. Got up on the same perch as last year and started glassing. Continued glassing for about 2 1/2 hours and then it started to snow. Here is a pic of the area I was glassing. We then made our hike back to camp and watched all of the 25 feet we could see in front of us. We sat in the trailer planning for the next morning. So this morning we woke up and made the hike in. Glassed from sunup to 9 in the flats only turning up a jackrabbit. So I decided to turn and glass the juniper hills behind me. Glassed til 11:30 and turned up 27 deer 8 of them being bucks. Out of those 8 bucks 1 was a spike, 2 were forks, 1 small 3x3, 1 80 class 3x3 and 3 100+ bucks. I was only able to get a picture of 1 buck because the country was thick and they were rutting hard chasing does all over the place. This buck was busted off on his left side right before where his g2 was suppose to be, but on his right side he was a 6 point including eyeguards. I figured if he matched he would be around a 105 class buck if not bigger. But when I went back to my dad to move closer to the flats to glass again he hurt his back so we had to call it a day and a hunt. Here is the buck Here is a picture of the country where I found all the bucks and where they were.

It was his first ammendment right to say what he said but he just worded it wrongly. He made a mistake that he will never be able to take back and we lost a great writer and outdoorsman due to it. One of his articles about a coues hunt in Arizona back in 1993 was what got me involved into coues hunting. He will be missed by me and many other outdoorsman. -
Great story I am looking forward to hearing about Kads's stories in a few year.
-
I agree big time. It is one of my many resolutions this year. ARIZONA GUIDE that is a great buck sad to see him fall to a lion. Hope he spread his genes around in that area.
-
Big congrats to your son. It is a great feeling harvesting your first big game animal.
-
Man those boys are off to a great start and with a 350 yard shot to boot. Not many adults can do that!
-
What I learned is to scout more than 1 general area! I learned the area very well after 2 scouting trips and had seen alot of deer including a good amount of bucks. I just kept going back to the same area. If I would have expanded my area I would have known alot more areas that I could glass and hunt.
