I do not think so. You cant tell from the picture but the skull does not have the same bridge as a javelina. Also the teeth in it are alot different than any javelina I have ever seen but there are some weird things out there. But the gap on the roof of the mouth is almost twice as wide as any javelina I have seen. Could possibly be a javelina but I am 99.9% sure it is a domesticated or feral hog skull.

My thoughts exactly on the pig........How far off the road was that skull Christian? I have found where locals have dumped butchered carcasses of goats and pigs before and even dogs and horses in that unit because of the proximity to towns. Looks like you've had a good start to scouting, best of luck! JIM> I know what you mean about the skull being busted up. It looks like someone shot it in the head possibly? The only thing is that I did find it around 1/2 mile from the nearest road. Unless a coyote or something picked the skull up and carried it up there. Not sure but I did find a bunch of tracks on a ridge nearby to where I found the skull so there are some up there I think. I also found 3 elk skulls that had the antlers sawed off.

Ok here is a picture of what we called "The Boardwalk". During the first week I was there it was my job to build this thing. It is right at a 1/4 mile long and it took me 4 days to build it. The only reason I had to build it is so the clients didnt have to walk through the swamp or walk the 1/4 mile. We would drive our little Suzuki Samari's over this also.

This is just one big ol' beaver dam. It was about 120 feet long.

Since I will be gone this weekend hopefully picking up some brown antlers I figured I would make one last post before I head out. These 3 pictures are of mushrooms found around the lodge. The first 2 are just so bright and stood out for good pictures. The third picture is of a huge mushroom. These things were everywhere and some were close to 12 inches across on top! And before I get any smart allick comments none of these mushrooms were eaten

Here is the first successful guide trip I was on. Everybody is probably getting tired of seeing this but this is the best picture I have from it. It is Troy and Jim and I think it turned out great.

I am shooting 3 or 4 days a week. Shooting 50 to 75 arrows each day. I am confident in my shooting just want to make sure I have a good arrow/broadhead setup.

Coues do have small home ranges. I have seen several of the same bucks walk and bed down within 100 yards of the same place multiple times. In fact the deer I go this year I watched him bed under a mesquite in October and then again watched him bed under the exact same tree in November and that is when he met his maker. Just keep tabs on that area and try to locate deer in there on a regular basis and study where they water, where they eat and where they bed. You should do good this year.

I second the Remington model 7. I have this gun in a .243 and it has taken 1 javelina and 1 mule deer. Great gun but for oryx I would go with the 7mm-08

Ok this is a funny story. The first picture is of a mounted wolverine. On the wolverines snout ther are to marks. Those 2 marks are from a small black bear that broke into the lodge and latched onto the wolverine. As the black bear was dragging the woverine out the door the owner shot the black bear and he is in picture number 2 right now

Have only seen 1 timber rattler in my life but have seen enough other rattlers to last a lifetime. Why would you post a picture like that? Those things creep the heck outta me
