I'm thinking of buying one of these but have concerns about how durable they are. And they are pricey. Any advice before I go out and lay down a bunch of money on one? Are they worth the money?

Same here. 40 years of Copenhagen ruined my mouth. I have a mouthful of crowns now thanks to it. My dentist told me it is acidic and will eventually eat the enamel off of your teeth. He explained to me that is why I had 13 cavities in the teeth that had constant contact with it. Had a horrible sore throat for about a month when I quit. I was told that was the nerve endings coming back to life that had been anesthetized by tobacco. Finally switched to herbal snuff to get free from it 7 years ago. I still miss it when guys like Slim open up a can and shove a big old dip in their mouth.

Ryan, I am in the same boat. I have done a lot of research and the disc-o-beds seem to get the highest marks. However, I have a couple of friends that swear by air mattresses. For the price they carry an extra just in case of a puncture. I am giving this some serious thought just to see how it works. A floor liner would have to be a must I would think to help prevent things from getting under it and puncturing it. Also I would want a DC air pump or a manual pump. DC pumps are on the www for around $20 http://www.target.com/p/coleman-comfortsmart-double-high-airbed-with-built-in-pump/-/A-14348119?ref=tgt_adv_XSB10001&AFID=shopzilla_df&LNM=14348119&CPNG=Sports&srccode=cii_10043468&cpncode=35-200324739-2 I have self inflating mattresses and 4" foam mattresses. I would be packing one extra with me the first couple of times out just in case this didn't work.

Here's one of those "almost too good to pass up" deals from Cabelas. My 450 took a dump and I needed a new one. Couldn't pass this one up! Over $350 dollars off of their regular price. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Garmin174-Oregon-550T-GPS/709096.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3D550t%26x%3D15%26y%3D4%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=550t&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products

I had one point when I drew it for the rifle hunt. There were 4 of us on the same application. None of us had ever applied for antelope before. At the time there were 50 tags for the unit and the 10% bonus pass was in effect. We were tag #'s 6-9. It's still my first choice for archery antelope. 2 years ago I had enough points to draw tag #1 for 18B archery antelope as my second choice. 7 was my first choice and I didn't have enough to draw it as an archery hunt. If I remember I had 12 points that year.

First Southern in Buckeye or Palm Valley in Avondale. Attend whichever one the boss tells me I am going to attend. Both great churches!

Selling my spotter. I just got everything back from Zeiss. They cleaned and recharged the scope and gave me a refurbished eyepiece. Limited lifetime transferable warranty and Storm Case comes with it. Stormcase is scuffed up with a piece of torn foam but in decent shape. Tripod is not for sale. Asking $1900

Price reduced to $1900. This glass is in great shape. They are selling $3000 or more most places. -
Bought the 10x14 last week. I tried to order the vestibule but they weren't going to be available until late May. My wife and I are are going to set it up in the yard tomorrow. I hope it is as good as you guys are saying.

Was thinking of heading up to the Sawmill Hills area next month to do some scouting. Just curious if there is anyone that has hunted this area? I guess my main question is how is the hunting pressure? Lots of hunters? What about road conditions? Can I get a tent trailer anywhere near there? I drew this same tag last year and there were a lot more hunters in the area I hunted than in previous years. I am very familiar with parts of the southern/eastern parts of the unit but have never been too far north of Turkey Mt.

bowhuntaz1, I live in the far west valley near Tonopah.

That is exactly what I am doing. I have hunted the unit a couple of times but am totally unfamiliar with the Sawmill area. I wanted to get a feel for the terrain and what roads were open. Maybe some info on past hunting pressure. I am going to have time for a scouting trip in a month and then one more in late August. I will decide then where to hunt. Thanks for the replies. They are appreciated.

125 grain Slick Tricks. If there is a better all around broadhead I haven't found it yet.
-
Yotebuster has it right. The arrows spin more with a helical thus slowing down.

Too bad you are in the southern part of the state. I have a Spot Hogg 7 pin sight that I might consider trading.

Having trouble finding doors for this jeep. I know it's a long shot but does anyone know of a set laying around or someplace locally that may have them?

I worked a construction job where a guy auctioned off his wife for a weekend. If I remember he raised over $2200. Good looking girl

They post quick but if they follow the pattern they have in the past you need to do some math to find out if you drew. If I remember how it works......look at your current balance and available credit on your Cabelas card. If there are no pending charges the available balance will be the credit limit minus the current balance on your card.

5BS or 8 archery bull here I come

I own a Zeiss. Like most scopes I have used the upper range magnification has issues with heat and crud in the air. Up to 40x it is crystal clear. Before I bought it I compared it to the Swaro's and thought the Zeiss was better but that is just me. I haven't tried any of the new HD versions of spotters so I couldn't comment on them.

Fixed blade broadhead vs. mechanical
creed replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Here's a Slick Trick bloodtrail that even I could follow. It makes no difference whether it is a mechanical or fixed blade. You put the arrow in the right spot and you have a dead animal. I have used both and have found no reason to change to a mechanical. Someday that may change but for now I shoot Slick Tricks.
