I called the G&F a few years back when leftover Hopi hunts were available for the first time. They told me they were unit wide if you could get one. A friend called yesterday and was told they were now restricted to Hopi lands. Does anyone know if this is true or is it another case of Dept employees not knowing what they are talking about?

Lots of stuff out there but here is a video from Fox News in 2013 that gives a pretty good look at what it MAY mean. There are many skeptics but one thing I think that nearly everyone can agree to is that this world cannot continue on the path it is on without something major coming down. Make your own decision. I for one think that time is short. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/16/is-cosmos-telling-us-end-is-near/

Just happened to awaken at 4:30 this morning and stepped outside to watch. Pretty awesome! Lots of potential biblical significance to the 4 blood moons all falling on Jewish feasts. One more to go!

Thanks guys. Likely will give him a call.

Any recommendations for a west valley mechanic? Pulling my dad's old boat out of mothballs and looking for someone who can give it a good going over.

A friend just sent me a text and said he swore they were hitting cards. I don't show anything but he insisted it is for real. Maybe??? He is too big for me to whip if he is lying.

He is 6'2" and 280. A former high school champion wrestler but I think two or three of us could take him.

He just sent me another text and told me that it was a screwup on his part. I agree. I apologize profusely. I am not one to start nasty rumors.

It is a funny video but when you are the drunk and realize the things you have done the next day it is not so funny. Sorry for putting a serious note on an otherwise funny video. I did have to LOL.

No fun when you are the alcoholic screwing your family over. Been sober for nearly 35 years.

What's your guys take on this? One time use? Does this mean it is good one time or one time per draw cycle, one time per species per draw cycle? What is a nontrophy species? Anybody have any other info on this? SB 1422 - 1 - Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: 1 Section 1. Title 17, chapter 3, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, 2 is amended by adding section 17-347, to read: 3 17-347. AZGFD DOES IT AGAIN

I am always surprised how lightly many people take private property rights. I don't get it. Our freedoms are being stripped at an alarming rate. Where does it end? -
AZGFD DOES IT AGAIN

I can see how this may be of some benefit but I guess I am getting tired of some government agency telling me what I can and can't do in every area of my life. I understand there are laws for a reason, taxes are necessary, law is enforcement is necessary, etc. but it is reaching the point that i can't walk out my door without it somehow being regulated. I have been a law abiding citizen doing my best to do what is right but I am getting fed up with it. -

Still don't see how they can do this regardless of how it is stated. Public land is public land. I would think that it is going to take a lot more to do this than just because they want it done. I think a good attorney would have a good time with this one. -

Maybe this is true but I don't see how they can do this and win. If a guy can access public land and hunt on it then they too can access that same land and patrol it. Looks like Obama isn't the only one that thinks he is God. -
Attention everyone please read

CW4192 is stirring the pot. He is looking to start trouble. This thing has been in the works for awhile. There is a group of hunters, some on this board, that are trying to head it off with some other ideas. If things continue as they are they may stop a draw but there is likely to be some changes to the archery deer hunts. -
I own a pair of the Zeiss and my wife uses the Kaibabs. The Zeiss are comparable to the old SLC's and better than the Kaibabs. They are good glass.

This book is very relevant to AZ and deer habits. Lots of local studies done and some great insight into how deer behave. I think it is a must read for any serious deer hunter in the southwest.

Bump from a guy that just sold his and regretted it all deer season. -
They have a home range that they stay in often forming bachelor herds. When the rut starts all bets are off. I had one buck I watched for several years on trailcam that was killed by a hunter 25 miles from where we got pictures of him. Saw another buck from the same area 20 miles away. Both of these were during the rut. They always returned to their home range in March and were with the same bucks that they were with from the year before. There was no mistaking these were the same deer either. One of them was a perfectly symmetrical 4x4 that would net near 200, the other a big muley buck with a whitetail type rack that grossed 218. They move around when the girls smell good!

I think there is some confusion with the way the license structure is going to affect the draw. On page 8 of the regs under qualifications" it says ""An applicant must possess a license (including lifetime, pioneer or disabled veteran’s) that is valid on the last day of the application deadline for that draw. Youth applying for big game hunts must be licensed. If an applicant does not have a license that meets that requirement, he or she must purchase the license at the time of application." So you can apply with a valid license but if it becomes invalid by the deadline aren't you going to be screwed? Don't you have to purchase another license? That's the way I read this but have been told I am wrong.
-
I read that the same way Coues Assassin. I think there are going to be some unhappy people come draw time. My ex wife had a valid license when she applied but the license will have expired by the application deadline. She would have been disqualified even though the computer recognized her as having a current license when she applied. She went ahead and bought another with a future start date to make sure she was good. I don't know. It's confusing to me but I have a lifetime license so I am not affected by it. Some family and friends will be.

I pulled this off of the Dept's "where to hunt" description of unit 39 White-tailed deer does not regularly come to mind in the Sonoran Desert; however, there are a few small populations found in unit 40A. I have seen several very nice pickups, too include a pickup that scored roughly 122 1/2. I have known hunting camps from time to time take both a white-tailed and mule deer buck out of the same area. The trailcam pics I saw were from a WM's trailcam some years ago. He had one on there that he estimated was 130. That thing looked like an eastern whitetail. The mass and tine length was unreal.

I have seen some trailcam pics from some of these areas that would blow the mind of some of you coues hunters.

If you get to the place that you want to put this up for sale I may be interested. I don't have the glass you are looking for but can maybe sell one of my rifles for the cash if you get to the point you are willing to sell. I am leaving for a week long hunt so next week would be the earliest I would be able to do anything anyway.
