    Looking to upgrade my optics...

I am a bit different. I would never give up my 10's. I can't hold 12's steady enough to use without a tripod.

    Looking to upgrade my optics...

I bought into the 15x56 hype and while I use them alot I found I could find deer at great distances but couldn't make out detail. I had a Zeiss spotter that I sold to a member here and kicked my arse for getting rid of it. It later came up for sale and I got it back. I use Zeiss 15x56's and while they are comparable to the old SLC's they are not in the same league as the newer models. I carry 3 sets of optics but for years used a good pair of 10x42's and the spotter. If I had it to do all over again I would buy the Swaro HD's and a cheaper spotter just to make out detail on long range animals. My 10x42's get more use than the others combined but I would feel lost without the 15's. If I had to let one set of optics go it would be the spotter.

    To slime or not

The more slime the better. I have had multiple cholla balls stuck in a tire and never had air leakage. I carry a spare, pump, canned slime and a repair kit and have had to plug only one tire in the field that slime wouldnt take care of.
  5. Yes. And if they are with a buck he will usually follow. Single bucks will also respond and a fawn in distress call can work well also. If I see a buck with his nose down on a doe's trail I will hit a grunt call. As often as not you can call him into bow range.

    Zeiss 15x56 HD - $1000

Good glass at a great price. Unless there has been changes Zeiss has a transferable warranty and has never charged me for anything that I have sent back for repair.

    Draw results on Portal

They are not finalized through the portal yet. I have two $25 charges yet I am being shown as drawing pig only. I called them and she told me they were not done with posting the draw results. She said I was drawn for both pig and turkey.

Anyone have a Yamaha Viking 6 seat????

I have friends that have one and love it. Their only complaint is it is just a bit underpowered.

    What Church do you attend?

It's in Humboldt. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/tongue.gif Actually they call us Dewey-Humboldt nowadays, South of Prescott Valley about 10 miles. The church is 2500 Old Black Canyon Highway... we'd love to have you visit! I ran into a pastor in unit 8 during the elkhunt from that area. I think he said his church was a Baptist church. Gateway Baptist?

Any interest in Nikon EDG 10x42

I am going to have to think really hard about this one. I have used Nikon premieres for years and found them to be on par with the SLC's or the Zeiss. Nikon has some of the most underrated glass on the market.

Easier setup/ wall tent or Alaknak?

Never owned a wall tent but I have owned an Alaknak. I didn't think it was that difficult to set up. It's been said before but a Kodiak Canvas is a quality tent that is a one man set up. They don't have a stove jack but there are ways around that with a Little Buddy type heater.

    Maxxis Bighorn 2.0

Have them on my Pioneer. Going into my third year and 1500 miles without issues nearly all in the desert. Only thing I would recommend is filling those suckers up with some type of tire sealant.
  24. After losing much of the use of my left arm through physical therapy and weight lifting I am able to hold my wife's 3.2 lb Diamond edge and pull 52 lbs. without my arm buckling. Only good for about 8-10 arrows before it starts collapsing on me. i was looking at hunting bows and came across the Icon DLX. I don't know squat about Bowtech but it weighs the same and comes in the 50-60lb range. . Anyone own one? Any other recommendations? I have never shot the shorter bows and was curious about long range accuracy too. I don't want to hunt with a crossbow but I am physically unable to hold at arms length a heavy, long ata compound. If I pull the trigger on this bow I am going to use a cat quiver and relieve some of the weight.
