I have been hunting desert mule deer for more years than I care to admit. Dry years look near water, wet years like this it’s like flatlander said, they are where you find them. Good luck cause you’re going to need it

Nice! We are in the process of trying to find a fishing lodge in Canada where we can do some fishing. Halibut and salmon are near the top of the list. What type of tackle?

Shoot the Excalibur recurve crossbow while you are trying them out. I am looking at a reverse shoulder replacement in the not too distant future and am leaning towards Excalibur because of the weight. They are a bit wider unless you go the Micro series and very accurate. Also have one string to fool with and no true timing issues. A crank is a must as their top end Xbows have a 260-280 lb draw weight. I can still pull a 60lb compound but my time with archery is short.

Just got hammered again in the west deserts. Here at my house we are pushing 4" for the month. Bring it on!

Expect all kinds of weather.......warm, dry, wet, snowy and cold! That unit can get freakishly cold sometimes. If it's dry sit tanks. Otherwise find country you can glass. We have taken several bulls out of there this way. And we hunted near the reservation.

Something I don't understand is why it is ok to leave beer cans and bottles in a campfire ring. For some reason many don't consider that litter.

Which camp? There were several camps in about a half mile strip down the 42 road just off of 108.

Find permanent water. Get up high and glass.

First time I ever applied for antelope was 7 with only the hunter ed bonus point. There were 4 of us on one application, all with 1 point. The bonus round then was 10% with 50 tags in the hunt. We were the next drawn after the bonus round.

I have the 85mm version of this scope. This is a smoking deal for glass of this quality! -
I believe it. I have family members that I think are dumber than dirt yet are considered by their peers to be intelligent. These are people in their early 20's. I am hopeful they are not representative of their generation because if they are we are in big trouble.

2 ton bottle jack . Doesn't take a lot of space.

There is no mandatory reporting. How would they even know he killed one?

Barnes Expanders MZ are all I shoot. I have found the 300 grain bullet and 110 grains of Blackhorn 209 to be extremely accurate out of my Optima. Great results with them too!

Catching was good until the weather turned nasty. I talked to a couple of different guys and they said the night time bite was really good. Cats were hitting crankbaits as good as the bass were. I had planned on fishing all night but those clouds had some nasty lightning. The weather caught me just north of Wenden. It was ugly!. The good news is the desert in that country is really greening up. A ranger told me that for the month of July they had just under 3 inches. I am guessing they got a lot more last night.

This bad boy persuaded me to get off of Alamo last night. I had planned on fishing all night but glad I left when I did. I still had to wait over an hour for washes to go down before I could get to the highway

Got hit again tonight but thankfully the wind was not as bad. Got a bunch of rain. Looks like the Wickenburg area got a good soaking. http://alert.fcd.maricopa.gov/php/submaps_rain.php?mapId=20&displayInterval=1d

It did but it was my favorite tree. I get to clean it up. It has a bunch of it's friends on the ground scattered around the property. Did finally get some rain with all the dirt and wind. 42 and 44A are catching some much needed rainfall the last couple of days.
