Lots of good advice. I went through the same thing. What helped me the most was what NOTAGS said. Once you decide to shoot don’t look at the antlers again. Pick a spot and concentrate on that spot only. And practice. If you’re getting close but missing you’re prime to wound an animal and lose it. That’s one of the worst feelings in the world.

10% cap on Non-Resident sales of OTC archery deer tags Is it sales or take? I was led to understand it was take. If that is the case residency must be stated at the time of report. If it is sales is there another way other than a draw based on previous year OTC sales to limit NR hunters to 10%?

I walked up on a guzzler yesterday that usually has numerous cams on it. Not a single one. I thought it was kinda cool.

Looking good! thank God 2021 is over! Maybe tied for the worse year of my life. Looking forward to better days!

With this rain coming in tonight and tomorrow if you don’t find him today odds are pretty stacked against you

That’s not a good sign if your luck is like mine

Glassed up a good buck yesterday but he was bedded halfway up a very big mountain and a mile off. I thought about if for a while and decided that someone else needed him more than I. He was totally alone

Been out several times but have seen only does with little guys. Rut typically doesn't get rolling good in the areas I hunt until around the 10th of January.

Will consider trades for a semi auto 12 gauge or O/U in good condition plus cash if needed. -
Not funny but going back to the old AZOD board, my dad drew a late unit 9 elk tag. I mentioned it and that he had cancer and his hunting days were short. Delw privately contacted me and told me where to hunt and what to expect. I had not been asking for help but he stepped up and gave me some great info. That's what kind of guy he was. I miss his sarcasm and no BS attitude.

I understand that. Why this case is interesting is if it gets to the Supreme Court which is unlikely but a possibility it would have ramifications for all states. If I could find it I read an article a few years back about corner crossing in Arizona. I think it was considered trespassing. What was argued is you have to pass over private. I think it’s stupid

Keep in mind if you guys live long enough you'll be grandpa's too. And not all of us boomers feel entitled or are computer illiterate.

I would be curious to see how much land they control that is public and how much is state? Many don't seem to get it that state land is not public land. It has been leased and money paid for the right to use it. You can't see this well but the whole side of this stock tank is littered in busted bottles and trash from shooters. Hunters get the rap for this kind of stuff. If I were a rancher and could shut it down to the public I would too. It only takes one idiot to cause problems for everyone.
-
Doubt they would go with rifle but maybe muzzleloader. I am all for the draw on at least the desert units. With the closure of other units the ones left open should be a real sh!t show this year
-
Wonder how this would go over with outfitters/guides that book months in advance? I am in favor of a draw but would be curious how an OTC in the early hunt and a draw in the later desert hunts would work. It would take some of the pressure off of the desert deer herds but still give OTC opportunity to hunters. It would maybe minimize the $$$ hit the department would take.

Go to a draw.

Go to the dashboard where it shows your license, bonus points, etc.

I talked to them about this and was told if the system accepted your application you were good. I used my customer ID

Looks like rain may be coming next week according to the NWS. Just in time to screw up the guys that plan on sitting water. Temperatures are supposed to drop too. Maybe help the rut get going? I know it's a bit early but I can hope! Let it rain! We need it.

Probably. In the areas I hunt a quarter of an inch can shut down a drinker. Lots of potholes. And with more dew it sometimes stretches out the frequency of watering.
