I was a corn/cotton grower. We started having water issues with the feds and CAP water around 2000. Between developers and water shortages ag is a dying industry in the southwest.

They will shut water off to the farmers if something doesn't change. A corn crop in AZ takes somewhere between 5 and 6 acre feet of water per acre.Takes a bunch of water. Alfalfa and cotton have similar water needs if they use conventional irrigation systems

Went antelope scouting Wednesday. I have no idea how to access my hunting areas. It is a quagmire. They have been getting rain everyday and are forecast for rain every day as far out as they forecast. I have never seen that area even close to being that wet.

Speaking of Feds this has been around awhile but still worth watching. He got what he deserved. Arrogant jerk thought he was above obeying orders. They could have shot him.

Nor do I. I think it should be enforced. The 30 foot rule sucks.

From the Coconino NF website When car camping on the National Forest, do not drive your vehicle more than 30-feet from the side of designated roads to camp, except in designated camping corridors shown on the Motor Vehicle Use Map (free at Forest Service locations). In designated camping corridors, one can drive up to 300 feet from the road to car camp. These rules only affect motor vehicle use. Forest visitors can always hike to campsites at farther distances from the roads.

This guy said it was because of squatters that they were starting to enforce the two week rule. I know where I live out in the desert they are all over the place. Doesn’t matter who owns the land if they wanna throw up their tent or junk camp trailer they do it. If they’re there any time at all it’s heck getting them off

I know of one in the central desert. Too many have seen it for it to be anything else.

Screw the elk tags. If I could hunt desert muleys with a rifle during the rut I think I could kill a 200” buck. The biggest problem would be finding one that isn’t busted up.

Parts of Tonopah look like a war zone. Got in last night from fishing in Alaska only to find the place demolished. I took a couple of pics of the garbanzo bean plant a couple of miles from my house.

I heard a commotion in the driveway and stepped out to see two very big dogs taking my wife's jeep apart. Probably going to cost me a bunch of money. People move to the rural areas and the first thing they do is turn the dogs out and their kids on quads.

Fair to good condition. I haven't used it in 4 years. It has a spot where a pine tree leaked sap but it has never leaked water. Just put 2 cans of Camp Dry on it and have it set up in the yard if anyone is interested. Tonopah area $450

These dogs had chased a rabbit under the car and were trying to get it. If I had had a gun when I stepped out I would have shot them. I now have an 870 loaded with 00 Buck in the corner of the foyer. Deputy told me to shoot them, that I had every right to do so.
