I say help your bud out. If anything, You will learn the pattern of this buck while helping your bud hunt him. Just in case he doesn't take him? But what a big stoke if you put him on it ..People get paid to do that.. By the road? I've seen single tracks called a road. If he's big that's where he would be.. I guess. How big again? Good luck

Is there an xo or ox canyon in this unit? Bar none, Somebody told/showed someone of their secret in this state. I get a big kick out of the one's that say they found this place on their own... I think I will use that PM system more often myself.

Looks like there was a lot more friendly advice back in 2003...

Please, The only thing you should be wasting sea salt on. Is the rim on your glass!!!

Coming in from the US 191/180? There is a nice spot about 7-9 miles in that is popular on the right side. You won't get very far pulling a trailer coming in from the Alpine side. Good luck on your son's hunt.

Maybe to sci-fi, Linear laser measuring? I could see it now, "Sorry Joe, I know we've been friends for a long time". "But the machine says, your 1/8 short of the B & C".

June replied to Dodgerboy999's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Mr. Reynolds, I do believe you owe Azcousesfanatic a gentlemen response. Most likely an apology. And please Pm me, Sir. I don't think there are so called experts here even with the numbers. There was a very nice deer taken and it appears his creditability is in question. More so, his friends creditability has been questioned. This deer was a freak of nature. Not many like him, don't you agree?. Not in anyone's collection? But his.... It is a real shame that a person of your statue and respect on this site would make such a comment. Savvy I apologize for us having to meet this way.... But c'mon -
Wow,great bull and write up. Sometimes 7 years of waiting can place a lot of pressure on one's self to be successful. Glad to see the smiles. Congrats on your success, Thanks for sharing.

New to Coues and to CouesWhitetail.com
June replied to ron b's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Welcome Ron, Don't get to discourage if you don't see to much. There is a reason they are called the grey ghost. Also, that cottontail rabbit your glassing may be actually what your looking for. Good luck on your hunt. This is a great site for advice. Welcome -
Ha, Ha,,Ha were your filming the 370? A side note . what's the definition of the rut? Cold/ breeding? I think you are pulling our leg. Peace

Kudos ,To you big Ming. By your reply you have just gained my respect. It takes a very mature person to handle a mistake the way you did. And it wasn't totally a mistake. You have great passion for something you Cherish. And yes, It takes alot of years to learn an area. So before I go any farther in my reply, I want to extend my thanks to you. I'm sure dillon camo and others will be more willing to ask questions on you response. Yes, Dillon Camo could have approached things differently. And I can also side on how you responded. But this site can be way, way more than ranked somewhere between 10-14 if more people were willing to help others out. I personally think this site could be #1 someday. A place for good conversation and friendly advice without the fear. Like I've stated before. We all have the same passion for the outdoors. Some of us have been brought up that way. Some of us are just learning. I apologize for my aggressive response earlier. But I'm just a little tired of us hunter's not helping others out in a friendly and open manner. Thanks again.. Peace..

Bob Thanks, yeah all those guys up north tend to push the southeren units. You forgot 21 and 24? Anyways, I was just trying to help Minguscoues realize his error in bashing dillon_camo. Peace PS. 32 is used up that's why I'm farther south this year.

Try: http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coronado/forest/re...ta_teresa.shtml Thanks Bob, You are very resourceful and I appreciate that. I will check that site out. Thanks. Still I was just wondering if maybe this question hasn't been asked before on this site. And if so, maybe I could get some friendly help without going through, well you know. Thanks Now I might be e-scouting. Peace

Not to change the subject. And I guess I'm not really e-scouting either. But can someone tell me how to access the Santa Teresa Mountains?

I may be mistaken but a couple of years back wasn't there a youth rifle hunt in 27 also? The week right before the Archery hunt started. That really messed things up.. On my hunt last year in 1. They were off and on. But not intense. They really hit it at the end. The rifle Guy's cleaned up. But I still felt very fortunate. Peace

What contributes most to harvesting MONSTER BUCKS
June replied to coues7's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Bob, Not to be whatever, But the guy asked how to harvest a Monster buck? Not consistently? That's something that, in this day in time, is actually very difficult to achieve without assistance. Now I 'm really intrigued did your wife's tag allow you to take consecutive B & C bucks? If so, I guess you can place your name. When I was small it was about killing a deer. Not how big. But this is a passion that has been instilled into all of us. There is really no right or wrong here. As long as we can remember the values past down to us. Who really cares how big a buck someone killed. Can't take it with you? It used to be about respecting your prey and the land.. Going out and camping with family. With the expectation of finally getting one of those storied O'Connor bucks. Heck, I thought he never got that three toe or was it two and I was scared he was still out there. But that's another story. Unfortunately, Now it's about me and what i can take from the land. I think somewhere those values might have been blurred. I sir, Know yours have not. And I don't what my views stated as a personal attack... It is really unfortunate that everyones opinion is viewed that way. Maybe it's that we can't really convey on the net. Heck I have trouble....Peace -
What contributes most to harvesting MONSTER BUCKS
June replied to coues7's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Brian, I am not against your trophy hunting ambitions. My post was listing my reasons I don't do it and for a plea for people to keep their perspective and honor all the animals. In addition I have met a few hunters that are probably considered the best Coues deer hunters in the world. Let me just tell you those little grey devils have driven these guys mad. Their whole life, to the detriment of everything else, is devoted to Harvesting A Monster BUCk. Even though they have harvested the biggest bucks ever taken my reaction was not jealousy, but of pity. At the end of the day all they have is some impressive mounts and their name in a book. Big deal. Now for my forked trophy! You may have to reload your cache to see it enjoy. Bob Brian, I probably got that Muley 10 minutes from your house. Wasn't that a 6 1/2. spike/ drop tine in 2006? Bob Again another interesting thread. What I get from all of this is that we are all very passionate hunters. We all have our different views that's for sure. It is good to see that everyone can agree to disagree. OK then. So far this year there have been some unbelievable bucks taken. I sure there are going to me a lot more. Maybe one of the best in the years. So again, Why are these big boys slipping up. It's not the rut. Could it really be as easy as there is no water out there? Maybe there are a lot of corn/salt buffets out there. Maybe it's "I'm trying to grow some antler's here dude, Can this wait until I can think straight". I don't know? What is bringing these guys out of their comfort zone? How do you harvest a Monster Buck? Not from here my friend..Not from here.. Peace -

Whoa . lol. No one said a 86 inch Coues isn't a fine mature buck............. heck, my standars before my curse of an avatar was a Spike. Since I had heard from many a man that ANY Coues deer was a trophy, and my father hunted hard for 7 days and brought home a last day spike a year prior as well. I would be one that could congradulate a hunter that shot a specific deer I was after I might add, And people kick deer off cliffs??!! And purposly destroy or damage racks??!! new ones on me . As Hank would say" calm down Bobby, lol" , Since you answered a question topic initiated to probly share tips and common tactics between us with another question, " WHY" I would answer that With the famous answers of because you can, because it's there, why not, Because it's fun, Just because, Theres more meat on a big one, the antlers are bigger, Who wouldn't want their buck noted in history (records), It's good for Conservation, Let the little ones grow, Because coyotes and lions eat most the young ones, It's an added challenge.......... Of course on the last day I'll have no problem shootin a spike . I understand that It's not all about inches and eigths. But since this topic is................................ Any tips on Getting a BBD??? I know with all your years of experience you gotta have some......... C'mon Bobby, you BIG GIANT DEER SLAYIN MACHINE!!!!!! lol Dustin you got great spirit. It's good to see people not so up tight. You know those big ones are tough eating anyways. Heck , My uncle takes spikes every year and we call him a trophy hunter... Keep the spirit.. -
Just a guess 109 7/8.
