Yep, looks like a weapon on the last guy....

Just wondering if anyone hunting in this unit witness any military aerial maneuvers on the night of 11/9/10 at around 2000?

Soazarcher, What side of the Mt. range were you on? Hunterdude, Yeah that would be a little alarming.. This was pretty intense from my location...
-
Also, Wanted to know if specialty items can be order. What would be the approximate wait time on such an item. Not talking about a custom order. Thanks

Cool, Which Mathews do you recommend? I was leaning towards the Destroyer 340..

Well the time has come, I will have my very own...

Best of luck in your endevor, Where is a 7-bone Chuck located anyways? Good luck, Chuck.. -
I think I understand what you are saying in that your new loop is tighter and closer to your nock?..Now if your original loop was pinching. (The part that ties into your serving) your nock. Well, That would be a problem.. But you are describing this exact same issue with your new loop, correct. Most likely you did not need to replaced the original loop. Maybe, it just needed to be opened up a little so it wasn't (pinching your Nock).. Sometimes, when we are fiddling around trying to get our peep in correct alignment this can happen.. Normally you want your nock to click in without resistance.. Paper tuning can be a great tool to get you close but there are so many variables as mentioned before that will show inconsistencies. Hand torque being #1. A little tear shooting a field point is unnoticeable with it's flight. Once, you slap a broad head on then it will show immediately.. You got your bareshaft to hit with your fletched arrows then you're good to go.. The more we fiddle around with our set-ups the more we learn.. Ain't archery fun. Peace

BowNut, Thanks for posting the information on the current situation. I for one appreciate the effort you and your club are doing to work things out before the start. I did not shoot the first leg last year and your information has been helpful. Thanks, again.

Thanks for the info, It's an excellent move on the ABA's part. Always thought there were to many individual classes to begin with. I don't think it will deter others from participating because the groups are combine. In my opinion, If you happen to win your class or place high. At least, you know it was against the best in your class. That's why you choose the competitive class to begin with. keep up the good work and always keep the youth involved. Thanks ABA

My GOD!! HUNLEE has made it to this site...

WOW!! That's one "GOLIATH" of a buck. Talk about antler envy. A big congrats to you and everyone involved. Now wake me up when January ends.

Str8Shot, I hear Ya.. Sarcasm is good. Yes, there seems to be a definite increase in great bucks over the recent years. Great attribute to the hunters harvesting them. I know there are several that were not even reported and hung on a tree(not a numbers game to these folks). Still 3/4 of a month to go.. Can we get 150"+ with a bow.. I wouldn't take that bet.. But I'd take the bet that someone would ask. "WHAT UNIT"? without having to ask

HMMMM?... Kinda like the 5000 + views on the 140" thread. I don't know why? What a year for big bucks.. Congrats to all the successful hunters these past few months. Really can't think of a year that can match this one.. Not until next year anyways.. Bow WOW!!

OK, Well there were many stories posted before the hunts about personal experiences in these Units that were troubling. For those that hunted south this year. How was your experience? I've seen a lot of success stories which is awesome. I thought while our memories are still fresh we could elaborate on our recent experiences in these units. Did these stories live up to what you encountered? If so, How did it effect your hunt? I've heard stories about the guy found with both knee caps shot and left for dead. Border crossers coming into camp stating they were robbed asking for help, etc. My experience was pretty much what I expected. I spent the entire seven days in the field. And even though there were a few close encounters. We still had a great time. I guess the only thing that was a little concerning during the whole time was the fire fight with automatic weapons being exchanged. I guess it just brought things back to a realization. Oh yeah, I would pay big bucks to catch a ride with that BP whirly bird pilot. He gets up close and personal if you know what I mean. Also I need to invest in redbull products. Highlight was seeing a female mountain lion with her kits and tagging out on a buck.

If the pic I just got... is who I think it is....

I hope it's something like a big 3x4. -
Overall, except for a few unfortunate incidents. Sounds like things might be improving in these units. Not to say things can't pop up and you should be relaxed in your attention while hunting down there. But it was good knowing that there are BP agents and other security measures in place. It was very obvious. Hopefully their efforts will continue to improve these areas. Hopefully next year there will be more improvement with less redbull products out there. I might have to rethink that investment.

Mr. Q, I also think there was a very big storm in the late 60's. My Unlce refers to it as the storm of the century. He's always talking about this big storm. And how they got snowed in unexpectedly around alpine on their first elk hunt. He also tells how one of his friends thought it would be a good idea to build a fire inside their canvas tent. Burned a whole through the top of the tent and got all their clothing wet. He's got some good stories as always. I heard some hunter's in this storm were refusing assistance.. Got to luv the passion..but I 'd rather get the help myself.. my prayers to the ones that lost their lives..peace

AZbowhunter22, Not sure what was going on but the exchange lasted about 3-5 min. Definitely more then one person by the sound of things. Not the first time hearing it. BP was in there the next day. This was in unit 35. Nosajpo, Yes it is. My original post wasn't clear. I did think it was rather late in the year to be seeing such young kits. They were not much bigger then my pit bull.

Yeah, I re-read my thread and it would Appear I took her But I was referring to tagging my buck. No reward here buddy. sorry I'll change it so we're good.

Nice buck and great story. You may have needed some counseling if that third shot didn't put him down. A big congrats.

+1 on going down and talking to Jesse. I know he was using the whisk for a brief trial bases, but isn't anymore. Sounds like a perfect fit. He's into running and knows his Archery. And your into Running and have a Archery question. Go talk to him.

The buck I took during the last rifle hunt had a very unique hoove. Anyone else ever seen this? I thought it was pretty neat and a first for me. No, I don't have a hoove fetish

First of all, Before I go any further I want to apologize to anyone I may offend by this post. Especially, if this is a member's camp. "Which I highly doubt"!! Or a friends camp and so on.. Second, I hope me posting this will help others and can be used as a learning experience. With that said..My cousin and I were out scouting today and we came upon a successful camp from the previous whitetail hunt.. How do I know they were successful, you ask.. I will show you.. But I'm a little perturb and confused. I don't know the circumstances of this camp. Only what I saw.. I sure hope they had a good explanation. Or maybe they were caught up in their success and forgot what a privilege we as hunter's have. This is not the first time I have seen this.. And unless, I missed the memo.. I wasn't brought up this way either. So I will let you decide if I'm blowing this out of proportion..I hope this will remind us that we are stewards of the land and need to cast a good image as hunter's. In the pictures you can see a deer cape left in the tree. And attached to the rope are several cut rabbit feet that were wired tied to the rope and left. What was most disturbing. One complete rabbit carcass that an animal had tried to eat.. I'm not going to discuss wasting of game meat and the potential fine related.. Again, I was not there and don't know the full circumstances. Again , Don't want to offend anyone, Let's just clean up after ourselves.. Here are a couple of pictures of what we found within eye sight of the road. Sorry, having trouble posting the pictures.. Will try again in a few..
