Great tips! Sounds like you are ahead of the Game. This buck was in your backyard this past weekend and if you took your eyes off him he would quickly disappear. Keep at it. I think the next few days of your hunt will improve. The bucks are moving around some and I did see one buck already with several doe. Best of luck in the remaining few days.

You don't necessarily need to go far from the road if you have the gate code. +1 on the Mr. Doyle. Have a few of his mounts. Wish there were more of us like him. -
Good analogy and good point. Again, I do not agree with this analogy. Makes me feel kinda Green??? It works great when you have youngsters that have been already exposed with camping/Hunting. But, If you take "Little Johnny" as in your example out on his first deer hunt. Without fully preparing and educating him and his family what it looks like, and feels like, to harvest/kill an animal. Even a clean kill!! Then all the cocoa and s'mores will be on your lap after the shot. I also hope someone helps pay for the therapy sessions. Then again, they have already seen all the cool stuff on YouTube.

Don't agree entirely. We do need to govern ourselves. And sometimes the "In your face" is needed to get the zest of the point across. You got to pick up every stitch to build a fabric. It's not entirely what the other side is planning. It's what we can do to preserve what we love. But then again, We all see things differently. Take how we stalk a deer for example? Not one of us is going to do it the same way. So, yes we ARE at a disadvantage in being a strong adversary that is united. I'm sure there are others out there that like to see us bicker over trivial things like what we post. So What. PS.Have a successful hunt killing or harvesting this fall. I think it's easy when things hang down by the way.

At any rate. This is a good time to remind everyone to pick up after themselves. This was a used camp I came across awhile back.I won't go into detail on the animal remains. It only took a few minutes with a boiling blood pressure to make things right again. Burying the littered TP really sucked!!

PM Siwash, He has a 2010 Chaos fully loaded with arrows included for $250.00. It's listed here in the classifieds. The Chaos is an excellent bow.

This Sunday the Huachuca Archers have their monthly club shoot on the Fort. At the archery range. I'm sure there will be some friendly folk there willing to give some advice.

A Big Misunderstanding!!! And NOW everyone wants cocoa and hoho's. Sounds like a poorly written script to me with poor actors. And no one wants to get the guides involved? Yes, lock this thread and be done with it.....

Nah, The story is closer to home in my opinion.

Hey Justin, Sorry to hear all this happened. You're a stand up guy. From what I have been reading from other posts. I guess everyone will be needing to have a posse around so they can hunt in peace OR take 1 Bill J and let him explain the situation!! The missed opportunity/time spent with friend stories are always the best and most educating to others. Hope to read more about your experience.
-
Well. I'm gonna ask? What was his response when you informed him his hunt should be over? Maybe he needed a bigger posse cuz he was using inferior equipment.

That is Serious!! Congrats Jody!!

You won't go wrong getting a set of string/cables from Bull Basin in Tucson. It's worth the drive. My next set. As I like to try different builders will be John's Customs(you can google him). I have seen his work and he pays great attention to detail.

Well, I guess it really doesn't matter where the truth lies between "the parties" involved. The real sad thing is that there is an animal out there that wasn't recovered(pending). Should be a lot of black birds by now.

Great, I'd like to hear the other side. It will make my decision a lot easier on whether to purchase a new Bowtech in the future.

Yup. I originally wrote an article for Rocky Mt. Game & Fish magazine about Sergio's hunt. There's a reprint of that article in the Hunting Tales chapter. Amanda sells the book here. Thanks, I just read the story you wrote in 2003 in another section on this site. Excellent, detailed write-up. I'll have to look into getting the book. Thanks again.

This is the current archery record:ABOUT THE COVERAt 130 1/8 points, Sergio Orozcos terrific buck became the typical Coues deer world record after the Pope & Young Club made it official in May 2003. Sergio killed his fine trophy with his bow on Jan. 11, 2001 in Arizonas Unit 34A. The buck should also place high in the top ten entries of the Boone & Crockett Clubs record book.P&Y also presented Sergio with the coveted Ishi Award. Since P&Ys inception in 1961, the club has given out only 16 Ishi Awards, the highest honor the club bestows for a truly outstanding trophy. Cover Photo Courtesy of Sergio Orozco Unfortunately, I haven't read this book and was wondering if the events on Jan. 11, 2001 are elaborated on? Great buck. And great genes in that area, huh.

Might be one less in the unit?

Picture has been circulated for a while and probably been posted on here in the past. But it's always great for a laugh to get everyone going for the upcoming season.

Kinda agree with most stated(except with the slobs part). But even these two young adults said they are "experienced outdoorsmen"? I think I even met Caleb once in gmu 32. Didn't seem like too bad of a guy, just young. Yep, They made a big mistake on a lot of things. Yep. I'm just as pissed and heartbroken for all the loss as the rest of us. The only thing I can do now is continue to do my part in helping others learn how fragile our outdoors can be. That tends to get loss at times even with the ones that consider themselves "experienced outdoorsmen".

Very cool shoot with very challenging shots. Definitely got me ready for the upcoming season. I was very happy that it was an overcast day. I think I might give it another try in the morning. There was a very tough jackalope shot that I would like to do over. Also, they were handing out flyer's from Bull Basin Archery with some savings on my next purchase. Thanks again for posting the event.

Trying to find out where I can register for the fun course? Can't find any current information on the shoot. Also, I heard that a person(whom is a competitive shooter) doesn't have to attend the Happening for their total scores to count in the final score? Is that a current change? Just trying to get some information so when I compete next year I know what's going on. Thanks
