    Need Your Honest Opinions

BLAH,BLAH,BLAH, If you do purchase one of these bows. It would probably be a smart investment to change the string out with a winner's choice. I don't care for the string's on the PSE's as they do stretch and rotate. You will be chasing your peep until it settles. But like I posted earlier, my mind is set on the BM and that doesn't stand for Bowel movement.

    Need Your Honest Opinions

I shot the Bow Madness at Saguaro tackle and Archery in Tucson and enjoyed it. This will be my next bow for sure. I currently shoot an AR and the Bow madness is just as smooth and quiet ,but has about 30 ftps more with the same grain of arrow. I'm more into a forgiving bow that has excellent potential for accuracy. Never shot the reezen and Mathews does make a good product also, but my mind is set. Good luck in your quest.
  7. Been a resident for awhile now, Haven't seen the regs. But if I can be guaranteed an almost certain draw and pretty good success rate, in what? Oct. Without a tree-stand then I'm all in. Could never get one of those Dec. tags anyway. By the way isn't there a number on your survey card identifying you. So, they know who isn't returning their surveys. IMO. Just happened to look at the one my friend forgot to send in.

    San Carlos

Thanks for the updates, Was thinking about heading to the lake after the shoot on Sat. But remembered the NASCAR race is on Sat. night also. I'll give the fishes a little more time to recover from the spawn and then give it another try. Thanks, again.

    San Carlos

crazyaboutcoues, Wondering how your trip was. I heard lake has dropped close to 15 ft since the beginning of April. Know a good friend who fished Sat. with OK results. Crappie bite was around 2 am till morn. with whiskers being caught also. We were on rosy that night. Caught some crappie that were no where the size of those at Carlos. lucky for me those fish don't have Merc. ha ha. Nice night, once, the wind died down. Slept on the boat looking up at that gorgeous milky way.
  10. Had a good time also and enjoyed the course. My first time seeing a dinosaur. Glad your club had a good turnout ,extend our thanks to all of your club members. Would have liked to spend more time getting to know you all. But we were trying to fit the archery thing with that fishing thing. We thought about launching my cousins boat in that pond . We probably would have had better fishing. Thanks again, be sure to let us know about further upcoming shoots.

    Cabo Saltwater Recommendations?

lv2hnt, Never been to Cabo or to Sammy's Cabo Wabo, dang.!!! one day hopefully. Was in La Paz several years back and stayed at the Los Arcos hotel. Great place to stay. They even had a cool picture of Clark Gable with a Marlin. I would also recommend checking with your Hotel first as Scottboy mentioned. We got took by chartering from a guy we met instead of going with the Hotel charter. Not to say you can't get a better deal walking around but there is a risk like we found out. This guy(Hugo) with Blue eyes made an offer to us that was cheaper then the hotels. He did take us down to the marina to show us a nice boat. But what we did next was totally wrong. We all shook hands and went ahead and gave him all the money up front. . That night we were all sweating bullets wondering if he was going to show up in the morning. I even checked around and everybody said," you gave Hugo the money"!!!. Well, what we didn't know was that Hugo was well know in La Paz as the town drunk. I 'm sure your a lot more savvy then we were. By the way Hugo did show up the next morning but wasn't much of a captain. Hey,we were able to run the boat with his helper. Well Mr. Hugo slept it off below. caught one bonita, and lost a dorado for not knowing what we were doing. Good luck in your trip and have fun. Watch out for those Hugo's.

    need help with weight.

miguel1, I too have the same drw, brace height and poundage(67lbs.). AR34, Just wondering what you were shooting before and why you are changing. Is it that your wanting more weight? I shoot the less expensive stl hunter 300 x-weaves. I have around 387 gr.per arrow putting out 270 fps. Missed alot of 3d's with this arrow and have become amazed by their durability. They fly great for my purposes using a Wac'EM broad head. Best of luck.
  17. Grey hawk, Sounds like a good time ,count me in. I'll set my alarm early. Will have to leave TUC early though but I'll treat it like a hunting trip. What time does that joint in town open for breakfast. Sorry, don't know the name of the establishment. "Don't ya know"? Too the top of the world we go Peace Nick Wouldn't Ya Know, I was able to use google earth street view and was able to read the name of the Establishment. Los Hermanos. But they are not open until evening. Checked yellow pages and a good review for Casa Denogean called but no answer. Maybe not open anymore. Oh well, there's always Chandler and Florence along the way. Oh yeah, was able to see Oak Flat campground on google street view. Pretty cool stuff. I know I'm a little behind the times but it is pretty cool.
  18. Had a great time at the shoot. Wanted to give a shout out to Desert Archers for putting on a great shoot. It ain't easy by no means. thanks guy's. Met a lot of interesting folks from across our great state with great personalities and life stories. There was also alot of camaraderie with shooter's supporting each other. I really like the way everyone rallied behind someone who missed. Courses were fun. I shot horrible and as I told the group I was shooting with. I'm not even going to blame the wind as an excuse. I just shot horrible. . But I had Fun and that's all that mattered. I hope the next shoot in Globe is just as entertaining and fun. Just wondering what everyone thought about the shoot and if there is a saloon at every shoot . Oh yeah, for those of you that shot MBR. Was that Baboon with the"just try smile" between 35 yds. and under 40 yds. Man, I totally miss judged him. P.S. You know it was a fun shoot when an ambulance was needed.
  19. Dodgerboy999, So how far was that frickin baboon? I know you probably ace'd him.
  20. I'm OFF, in more ways than one Congrats to everyone who got drawn, If you haven't found out your results, best of luck. Heard last week at SAN CARLOS someone won the tourney with a 5 fish over 29 lbs. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Anyways, Will probably have to fish from shore. Since, the minnow was lost. . Can't take Big John on this trip either, there's just to much dirt to move. Let you know how it goes when i get back next Friday. Hope the crappie and cats are hungry. Richard

    HEADED TO SAN CARLOS TOMORROW!!

Well I'm Driving and about half way over the Coolidge Dam. I was reminded that it was once classified the most dangerous dam in America. Yikes!!. A suggestion, never inform the driver of this stat until you are completly over the dam. Well after finally reaching my destination and setting camp up. I begin fishing from shore only wishing I had a boat. Isn't it funny that when you have a boat. You need to blast all the way across the lake, as far way from where you are camped, only to cast towards shore. So I'm there casting as far away from shore as I can and nothing. And more nothing. Finally. I just gave up and let my billy bob bobber come completly to shore. Wouldn't you know it, no more than 4 feet from shore is where I would catch the first Crappie. A good size male. Well I'm not going to bore you with more. I caught some but nowhere like in previous weeks. Pretty much can be considered slow for all purpose. Between the wind and the constant drainage of the lake which dropped several feet while i was there. Fishing was tough. Still a good size flotilla around the San Carlos Memorial but i heard it is hit and miss. I only caught 1 female the entire trip and she was still full of her egg's the rest were males. Hope it will pick back up with more stable weather. I plan on giving it another try in 2 weeks. Best of Luck.

    Officials euthanize AZ jaguar

Audsley, I was wondering if the borderlands project will continue to be funded and if so, will they move farther east to conduct their studies? How will this impact those hunting areas. Thanks, for your reply.

    The Draw System

Switchback, I ran into a perturb fellow in the Alpine laundry mat last year that was on his cow hunt. Why was he upset. He told me he let his buddy put them in for the draw and he put their last choice for cow. He then told me they both had 13 bonus points. . I kinda gathered my clothes and left.

    They are up!!

Mr Q, My heart sank every time i got that color card. But unlike these day's.That is a long forgotten memory. I use to hound the mailman every time, until he finally would honk, "the horn that is", to tell me my faith. I guess I conditioned him or wore him down. I have to go back to the 8mm film to see what happen farther back but i heard the stories. I do remember the G/f offering second chance permits for whitetail in the early 80's. I did happen to harvest a muley and whitetail that year. Never again unfortunately. Mr. Q it has always been a pleasure to read your column in the Tucson newspaper. That's a lost art in itself.
