Thought I would finally share a few pics from my most recent trip (fall of 09') to Tanzania. Looking at Gino's adventures and the numerous Scotty adventures to the dark continent inspired me to share a few. Thanks for all that saw and commented on the pics, I removed them for resizing after I realized they were about 10X bigger than the reccomended 100kb file size and taking up alot of space on Amandas server. I will try to re-post, once I figure out resizing in Aperture. Thanks

Thanks for the kinds words guys, I appreciate it. Scotty we were there for two weeks, spent most of our time in the Central Serengeti with about four days up north in the Lolo area and a couple days in the Crater. Went to the Crater specifically to see if we couldn't get lucky and get some pics of one of the giant ele bulls, before they are all gone. The last morning we finally found a pretty big one (not the biggest) and got a few shots. There is also some jumbo buff in there, it's a really an amazing place and one not to be missed if you go. I absolutely love the Central Serengeti, the critters are there year round no matter when the migration is happening. It's loaded with leopard and we spent all our time looking for those crazy cats. All the shots we got of other wildlife was while trying to find the fairly elusive leopard. We spent alot of time with binocs looking deep into the tops of trees, looking for an ear flick or the swish of a tail, turned out to be a pretty good tactic as we saw more leopard than most, I'm pretty sure. Thanks to those that saw the pics and commented, I just realized they were all way oversized and taking up alot of space about 10X bigger than the reccomended 100kb I will try to figure out how to re-size them in Aperture and then re-post. thanks

3 1/2 weeks in Zimbabwe.... I made it back!
wetmule replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Hunting in Africa
I would have to give it five stars and rate it as excellent - from the music to the footage and editing are all tops, really enjoyed it. Nice job Gino, what an amazing experience - looking forward to seeing the rest. I've been to the Dark Continent twice and going back in 2011. Like the potato chip ad says, "you can't eat just one" once you go and the jet lag subsides, you are dreaming and looking for a way to get back again. That place is a magnet. Great job! -
With all the talk of AZ bashing & Boycotting & that we're all racists and hate mongers here in AZ -- I find it interesting that California has a law already on their books that is more punitive to illegals than the one just passed in AZ. I also find it interesting that the media has said not word one about it. Read it for yourselves, it's California Penal Code 834-B!!! http://law.onecle.com/california/penal/834b.html and a little more detailed definition of the CA law http://www.americanpatrol.com/REFERENCE/PE...4-115-834b.html

Ponzi scheme being played with our taxpayer dollars. Use govt. money (taxes) to pay back govt. money (taxes) so they can get more govt. money (taxes) to keep the insolvent Government Motors afloat. Support Ford and free market auto companies.

Bob, it has only been trained to find giant muleys on the strip and for that it has done extremely well. I'm sure that with a little cross training and a little coaxing it will find a big ram for you, I sure hope so!

Scope is sold and is going sheep hunting! Thanks Bob

Sorry Rage, not interested in a trade but I am willing to drop the price to $1400 with 5% going back to Amanda and CWT.com as I've done with all I've sold in the classifieds here in the past, thanks for the interest.

You can't legislate ignorant or stupid people. The 2nd gives the citizens the right to bear arms. It doesn't say you have the right to bear arms BUT you can't carry it in a purse out of sight, or in your saddlebags, under the seat of your truck or in your briefcase - UNLESS you pass a test and pay a fee for a ccw permit. The left has adulterated and perverted the 2nd as everyone knows, and will continue to do so at every opportunity. Tam is exactly right, you get the chance to gain back a liberty guaranteed by the constitution and the founders, you better take it!!

A Wee Little Change in Our Country
wetmule replied to Rembrant's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
When elected officials fail to listen the people and purposely give the majority the middle finger, it's time for them to go. I would personally like to thank Tim and Doug and all those others who at least tried to get through to the elected elite in this country to let them know their thoughts and opinions. I sent many e-mails and made numerous phone calls, never got through to any of them or even got a single response, other than the generic canned auto response. It appears to me they turned off their fax machines, phones and computers. If the majority was in favor of this legislation, I wouldn't be happy about it - in fact I'd be pissed, but it would be easier to swallow knowing we live in a Democracy and the will of the majority prevailed. We have a leadership that feels they know what's best for us and they forgot or deliberately decided that we work for them and they know what's best for their citizens. Not the country I know and grew up in and certainly not the vision of the founding fathers. I truly feel sorry for our kids and grandkids that will inherit this mess and have to pay for this obamination. They will surely not have the quality of life that we enjoyed and will be working not for their families, but the sustenance of a monster massive bloated government that feeds on liberty and freedom. -
Congrats Amanda & Paul, following Lark's theme - how about Chicom? Not so good? Maybe you'll like Ruby or Roxanne the names of my mule and dog respectively.

Tax Season
wetmule replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
This is the year to die if you want to leave your life's work to your family and kids. If you want to leave half of your life's work to the Federal Govt., that by the way, has already been taxed - just wait till after Jan. 1, 2011. The death tax is the most ridiculous and punitive tax known to man. More Hope and Change from our current leaders that unfortunately will leave us all with just that, minus the hope. Good luck Redneck. -
more obsurdity coming soon to your favorite areas?? http://www.azdailysun.com/news/local/state...12ecd739cc.html http://www.gcwolfrecovery.org
-
John, just pointing out some of the obsurdity that this group is involved in, I ain't affilliated with them. What's more obsurd is commissioners wanting to give these groups equality with sportsmen & women; but it's ok that they don't pay any of the bills or give anything back to the Dept. Unless giving back to the Dept. also means handing them the occasional court ordered injunction, with lawsuit in tow. Wear a stopper, save the hopper.
-
Are these some of the folks that want an equal say in how the Dept. is managed? http://www.endangeredspeciescondoms.com
-
Bill and Mike as former commissioners privy to information on the Dept's accounting, you must know how many dollars the Center For Biological Adversity, Sierra Club et al., has raised for wildlife in the state of Arizona? Please enlighten us as to just how much those groups have given back to the Dept.? I'd like to know. I have a feeling we will be waiting a long time. Fact is those groups exist and raise money to fund their endless supply of attorneys and litigation, against the likes of sportsmen and women. I for one find it fascinating and a little ironic that a former commissioner(s) who sat in the big middle chair, would in a public forum call out those many VOLUNTEERS, sportsmen and women who have spent countless hours giving back to the Dept. and this states wildlife along with raising untold dollars for this states wildlife, by calling them "ego charged". As someone who attended many commission meetings it wasn't hard to figure out just who was ego charged.

2009 AZGFD Bonus Point Analysis
wetmule replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thanks Doug that was an eye opener at least for me. I have one shy of max (11pts.) trying to get a strip tag in 13-A & B. If I read it right? only one person from that pool drew a rifle strip tag, yet those with 3 to 7 & 8 points drew a whole bunch of those tags in hunt numbers 1020 & 1021. Crazy, maybe next year?
