Just got back from Skylar's visitation... It was a wonderful proceeding. A lot of family and friends. Skylar will be missed. Skylar passed away while taking someone on his first hunting trip. Skylar Stock was too good for this old world. God bless him and his family. Everyones prayers were definately felt. Thanks on behalf of his family.

Hey all, I have a good friend/boss (could earn me some bonus points!) who just got a left over tag from Game and Fish for Turkey in 13A. I have never hunted up there and neither has he for Turkey. Any ideas on where he should start scouting around and where he should focus his efforts. I hear the Mount Trumbull area is really the only area there are Turkeys in 13A. Thanks!

I knew Skylar personally, and I guarantee you he had more integrity, smarts, and was more of a man than you could ever dream to be. Amanda, I move that we get rid of this guy from the website. I also shoot the 270 wsm in the tikka t3 lite. I shoot the 140 nab out of it as well. I really like how it shoots. I am going to start reloading and am thinking about trying the Barnes tipped triple shock x bullet in the 130 grain. Has anyone tried those out in this caliber? Josh

+1 on Unit 27. I hunted there all my life. I don't hunt there any more because of the wolf issue. One of my last hunting trips up there we were sitting a meadow/water hole a good 4 point had been using... right at dusk a wolf came out into the meadow. I wanted to shoot the stupid thing. Don't worry... I didn't.

Thanks for the info. I think I am leaning towards the Lee. Mainly because of price and to see if I really do want to get into reloading. If I decide I like it, then I can always upgrade.

Was it a close game at least? Does Blue Ridge finally have a good program again?!! I don't know about the bad blood. The games were always heated for sure, but I can't recall many if any at all that ever got out of control. Congrats to the Jackets. How exciting that must have been for the mountain to have both teams at state! Too cool.

I didn't know where else to post this topic... My son is 5 years old right now and I am dying to get him in the field. He has an amazing love of hunting already, he prefers the hunting channel over cartoons. He also has an incredible ability to focus on one thing for an extended period of time, for example, 18 holes of golf is not enough for him. How early (age wise) has anyone else taken their children along on a hunting trip, even if it is just a javelina or turkey hunt?
