Last sunday 1/9/11 we started off looking for pigs and good sized bucks. We didnt see any pigs, but we did see a good 100" buck. We decided to pass because of his location and decided to move after the morning hunt. After talking to a couple guys up the road, we decided to head back down closer to where we started. We stop roughly around 2:15 pm to glass off the road. We see a couple small bucks chasing does...Then bam see a pig run through the same field of view that the bucks were in. We decide to make a move on the pigs. We got right into them, It was a good sized herd with about 12-14 with a couple lil ones. My dad shot first at 10 yards and bam one pig down. That flustered the herd..they were all around us. I drew back and let one fly at 10 yards too. Both pigs down. The swhacker did the job perfect. This is the first time both me and pops got one at the same time so it will be a memory forever

Well We hunted hard from November 5-8th and could not find any bucks larger than about 85 inches. I was looking to take a good buck at least 100" this year but it wasnt looking good. So anyways Thursday (the last day) rolls around and i decided to go out one last time. After letting my job know that i wasnt gonna be there, we headed into the hills for our last hoorah. We got to our glassing point just as it was light enough to see. We immediately picked up a decent 3 by 3 right below us about 400 yards away. We decided since it was so early to just let him walk. We then started picking up deer left and right. No good bucks though. I decided to go around the hill aways to get a different vantage point. As soon as i sat down I picked up a light antlered 3 by 2 with good mass. I radioed to my dad that i found this buck and we decided to make a move. He was across the canyon probably 800 or so yards away. Just as we were packing up our other buddy tom said that there were now 3 bucks together. The 3 by 2 being the biggest still. We made our way down the hill to cut the distance. As we approched the opposite hillside. the bucks strated running up hill and in our direction. We wondered what could have scared them. Tom was sitting on our original hill and let us know where they ended up. As we approached the crest where tom said he last saw them, my dad picked them up about 240 yards across the canyon. I decided to get set up and laid my backpack down for a shooting rest. We were in the open so we had to be careful not to get spotted. The bucks started heading downhill which made for an even closer shot. I set my gun up, Ranged him at 200 yds exactly, took my safety off, and bang! He ran abot 30 yds downhill where he collapsed. The other bucks just stood there wondering what had happened. After the other bucks took off, we went to check out my buck. Hes a 3 by 3 with a triple eye guard on his left side. We taped him at 92 4/8. 2010 has been a great year for me. Spring gobbler, 381 early bull, And 92 inch whitetail to cap it off. Hopefully 2011 will bring more good memories! These are the only pictures that would upload because they are all too big : ( Sorry about no field photos Hes on the right. My buddies 81 inch deer is on the left Doing my own European mount. Still workin on getting it pretty

Opening morning started off nicely. Glassed up a couple bulls, the biggest being around 350-360. The biggest bull was in rifle range but i decided to pass on him. Seeing as it was opening morning i figured i could find one a little bigger before the hunt was over. I started video taping the good bull then bang! I saw the bullet hit right behind the front shoulder. I watched as another shot went off and the bull went down. Well there went my back up bull i said to myself. We decided to back out and head back to camp. Saturday evening we returned to the same area we were in opening morning and spotted a good 360 plus bull we worked our way down the hill to try and get set up before it got dark. No luck as the light deminished. We decided to head back to the same spot in the morning where we last saw the bull. Sure enough we heard him bugling down in the cut. We worked our way around the ridge to try and get into a shooting position. As soon as the sun rose we glassed the bull about half way up the ridge in front of us. He was at 540 yards. I decided to get set up with a nice rest so i could make the shot. As soon as i was set up the bull went into the thick oak brush and we couldnt see him. He stopped bugling so we started glassing in the area we last saw him. Two hours went by and we didnt see him anywhere so we decided to leave him. We talked it over at camp and i decided to pass on him. Monday evening we went to a new area right near camp and hear at least 6 or 7 bulls bugling. It was thick timber so we had to still hunt to see the bulls. Right before dark we got close to a raspy sounding bull and we saw him. My uncle says its a monster so i got excited and got ready to shoot. He was rubbing on a tree so we decided to get closer and find a clear shot. The bull kept moving and the light ran out. Tuesday morning we went to the same area to find the big bull. I heard his raspy bugle so we decided to make our move to get to shooting range. We topped over a little ridge and he was right in front of us on the next ridge. We glassed through the thick pines to try and find him. Sure enough it was the same bull and he was heading right towards and opening. As soon as he got in the opening i was still getting set up to shoot. Screwed up that oppurtunity. SO we went down the the hill 50 yards and there he was in an opening between two pines. I shot and nothing. He still stood there unscathed. I shot again and he flinched so i knew i hit him. He didnt go down though so i loaded another bullet in the chamber and shot again. The bull dropped. We were all speechless! Here he is. AN 8 by 7 with two devil points coming off of his eyeguards. Quick taped him at 379. This was a hunt i will never forget!
