Great footage! I am excited to get out there, even though I only have a cow tag. -
I will let you know how it goes... I usually archery hunt, so I am looking for my first rifle kill. We will have my friends 12yo old daughter and my cousin who will be on his first elk hunt. I am hoping we can get them into some good rutting activity. Either way we will be in some beautiful country with good people...

We will have 5 antlerless tags in our camp for the first hunt. I dont know anyone with the bull tags.

+1 for Coconino! Dennis is a great guy and great and what he does. It is rare to find customer service this good, with a product to match. I have never used Caseys, but hear alot of good things about them. I have been using Coconino for over 10 years and have no reason to go elsewhere.

Has shooting been banned in Apache Sitgreaves?
bwhntr replied to Airbusdriver's topic in The Campfire
I was camping on the rim over the weekend. Yesterday, a ranger stopped at our camp and told us the entire ASNF will be closed starting Tuesday until it gets a "soaking" rain. It is very dry up there, but the deer/elk antler growth is looking good. -
I just ordered the 15x 50's! I could not pass on such a deal! Thanks Doug

Congrats on a nice AZ pike! I wish AZGFD would put length/bag limits on pike at Lake Mary. Most people in Az seem to have no love for these fish, but I think they are a great fish for sportfishing. They are a very agressive fish and they grow fast. I know they eat other sport fish, but we have plenty of other lakes for trout and other sport fish. If they managed it properly, the fish in the picture most likely be below minimum length. Where I used to fish back east the minimum length is 27" and it is not uncommon to catch 10 lb + fish. At times they will hit almost any lure you throw at them. As it is now AZGFD encourages people to catch and keep all the pike they can. I think they should continue to do this at other lakes, but maintain just one as a trophy pike lake. Back east Large pike are commonly foundin the same lakes as largmouth/smallmouth bass, walleye, perch, bluegill, and crappie and all have size/bag limits. Does anyone else share my point of view about Northern Pike?

I and three of my friends have the same tag as you. I will be doing some scouting between now and the hunt. I will probably do some archery deer hunting in there before elk season too. I am not sure exactly what area we are going to set up camp yet. You will be more than welcome to join us at our camp. I'll send you a PM. Oh yeah. Congrats on your tag!!

Monster Coues Buck video
bwhntr replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Very nice! Did you get a chance to find him and hunt him this year? If I had been that close to a buck of that caliber I would be a man on a mission.
