I dont understand why game and fish cant just have a set date each year.... makes no since. draw wont come earlier or later- so everyone knows the exact date. I think we should all call in and bug them so much about when the draw will be ready that they will get sick of the calling and post them. Whos in???

Just got back from northern AZ. Seems that the rut will start late up there. Bulls were still running with each other and did not hear much bugling. Anyone else experiencing the same in their unit??? I hope it picks up for the archery hunt. Maybe cause of the dry weather. Anyway just wondering if it is the same over the whole state.

Hey just wondering what kind of trail camera everyone advises to use. Is it worth it to spend extra $$$ for a good trail cam or are you just risking the chance of having someone steal it?? I have heard that in many units people will steal trailcams or the memory card so that person wont be able to know what is in the area?? Any comments jsut wondering what everyone thinks about this Thanks

thanks for the input guys Ill have to do something cheap and for starting out. Makes me even wonder if it is worth it sometimes wen people steal your cameras. Oh well I guess that is part of the competitiveness of hunting in AZ

I have heard horror stories of expandable broadheads. I have always used montec G5 and never had a problem. Has anyone heard or seen the new Carbon express broadheads?? They are called the F15 - and seriously looks like a F15. The archery shop I went to said it flew just like his field point and the damage is unbelievable. pretty interesting

I found an interesting review about the two bows from an unbiased person. http://www.dewclawarchery.com/ProductReviews-a/153.htm They found that the reezen can be very quiet however you need to add extra onto the bow to make it that way which overall the bow will be extremely heavy. The AM was able to perform well being light weight nice draw cycle and still shooting very fast. check it out.

Ok so I think most of us can agree we all want the quickest, most accurate, smoothest bow on the market. But I dont think you can get it all without compromising another to an extent. I know many people are in the same vote as me with all the new great bows out there it is hard to make a decision. Ive heard a bunch of bad mouth about the mathews bow this year, but in reality I think they are pretty good. Ive pretty much narrowed it down to the AM or the reezen. So my question is if you were to choos which one and why/?? I know that many say the bow should choose you but it seems that both of these bows are choosing me, and I dont have the cash for both. Is the reezen all that much faster?? I know most of the bows IBO are not accurate. there was a test done on the AM and DXT and it showed with same arrow and poundage etc. the Am shot 3-4 FPS faster than the DXT when the DXT IBO was 326 and AM is 320. Hmm are the bow companies lying to get more people to buy their bow for speed?? Anyway just wodnering what your opinion is on this. Im having a tough time. Thanks

How quiet is the Bowmadness?? I dont think anyone has talked about quietness of the bows. -
Just wondering what the cycle is for antler growth. I have heard that so far this year for ELK the front ends should be great but the back ends depend on the moisture in the months of March and April. Does anyone know much about this subject? For example what months good moisture is needed for the front ends and what months depend on the back ends. Just want to know how big my bull is getting..j/k

Muliehunter I will be right nextdoor to you. I drew Unit 9 - Im hoping for more rain for the backends. Havent hunted there - this will be the first. Ill have to put my time into it to get to know the unit. Any advice of where to start from anyone?? Hey hoghntr - there can be some big bulls in 22. Kind of a tough unit but last year there was a 8x7 monster on the other side of the highway. He had one side that was all funked up but can you say huge. He would have gone 380 - If it werent for his messed up side and was the same as his big side well over 400. Not sure if he got shot or not last year. Shoot me an email and I can tell you were I saw him Anyway good luck everyone -

Yea I wonder about this also. Guides will go up and find elk in their velvet and then keep watching them. They will start in July and then continue until september. My question is are they looking more for the cows??? because bulls will adventually go to the cows. Or are they probably just getting a feel for the type of bulls in the unit and then trying to find them again once they have moved and hope to find them the day before the season starts. Another question how good is it to have Trail Cams??? are they worth it or is it more of a hassle. I here story after story of someone stealing or destroying their trailcam. Any advise would be great. -
Stop calling for draw results guys your gonna break the machine!!! haha

definately Gold Tip. The price and quality of arrow you cant go wrong.
-
FYI Gold tip 5575 are 8.2 grains per inch Easton acc are 8.83 grains per inch. 29 inch arrow = 18.27 grians heavier mathews monster's IBo is rated at 350 FPS IBO = total arrow weight (350 grains) draw weight = 70 lbs draw length = 30

Wow what a toad... Congrats. MAybe you can give me some shooting lessons. What is boone and crocket anyway?? I thought it was like 110. Or are you saying for a non-typical?

How does your hunting buddy treat his equipment?? Cant just toss them around. Im just kidding. I have had mathews and never had a problem with anything breaking on it. P.S. Chevys Kick butt.... But in reality we should all stick together on american made cars. Keep them in business because if they go under who do we rely on for our heavy equipment when WW3 comes around??

Nice buck

Maybe i should open this as a new thread... but I was wondering what everyone thinks about Mathews going to dual cam. It seems all other bows are dual cam...ok well cam and a half but same thing right. If they arent perfectly tuned then you could run into problems. That is what I think is so great about the solo cam from mathews at now 340 fps. But my question is do you think they will adventually do away with the solocam and move to the dual cam. Is that going to be the direction of all the future bows? Almost seems like a repeat in the cycle of compund bows. Everything was dual cam... then went to solo cam then parallel limbs then now it seems maybe back to dual cam. Im just wondering if i should wait another year before I make an investment and see what they come out with next year. I have the switchback and I feel pretty accurate with it even out to 100 yards.. but i wouldnt mind gaining some speed.
