Last year came out on Thursday of this week. Cards hit around the same time.

got hit 13b. rifle first choice and archery second. What do you think the odds of getting an archery tag would be if I put that second choice. given the rifle has 70 tags and only 25 on archery. But 2 percent draw odds on rifle and 5 percent on archery.. be interesting what I get.

If you look under CWT news thread amber posted fall draw results up for fall 2013 on July 18. that being the case we should get card hits this week if it falls the same as last year. But that doesn't mean anything.

Yes you can withdraw your app if you draw an az tag. Last year I put in for nm and drew an az elk tag. I went to the website withdrew my application. After the nm draw I received a full refund back to my cc

It's important to be a donor. However make sure your spouse or next of kin knows how you feel about donating. I used to harvest and the next of kin would either help the case or ruin the case. In other words you can be a donor and the next of kin will be asked for organ donor and if they say no then the case doesn't go through. Likewise if you aren't a donor and next of kin say yes then they will donate your body. So really it all depends on the next of kin and what they say and imagine in a terrible time if he/she has to make a decision like that to pull the plug it might be hard, unless all of this is known beforehand and they know your wishes. It's too bad that I've seen it first hand too many cases get ruled out because of the next of kin. It doesn't have to be the fact of waiting forever for transplants.

Does anyone know when the new long range accubond bullets will be out. They are advertising them. thought they were suppossed to come out in March but never did. Just wondering if anyone has any idea on this thanks

Sorry not all that savy with posting youtube vids on this. Hopefully this URL will work. If not the vids can be seen on High Desert Outfitters blogspot. Thought I would share this. Kind of embarrasing but in the end ended up with a good buck. Not sure if anyone else had this same problem as me. I rebuilt my 7mm mag custom stock sschnieder barrel. jewell trip etc. Decided to go with a leupold VRX scope 3-14 x 56 power. I thought that I would get all technical I put on the turrets on the leupold. Windage was also added. before my hunt was shooting out 60 yards with a good grouping anything that would be lethal on a coues deer. Met JAson Sherwood and headed to Mexico with my pals. we went beginning of January. Rut was not really happening. None the less was having a blast being in Mexico. First day ended up tagging a Javelina at 300 yards. I was feeing pretty confident in my shooting until..... Finally had a chance at a good quality buck 90 inch with good tines. I shot 9 times at the Buck. The first 5 I was so far left could not figure out where I was shooting. I spun my windage turret to compensate. Still left. Buck started at 300 yards. He was so confused he starte actually running towards us. final shots were around 200 yards. I was so upset I couldnt hit this thing I was about ready to chuck my gun. I old my buddy to stay on the mountain with Jason and I was going to take off and resight my gun. when I went to resight my rifle I found that my windage turret had made three complete revolutions. I fist shot at 25 yards. wouldnt even hit paper until I turned the windage 360 degrees 3 x. amazing to say the least. Now I was back in the zone. Went back up on the mountain to find my friend shot the buck I missed 9 times. very nice buck. Went home that night to find that another guy in our group had the same exact problem. He finally shot his buck with someone elses gun. We concluded that while hicking and the gun around our should each step would bump the windage turret and spin it. So I was very careful the next day to hold the gun and not place the strap around my shoulder. throughout the dayI decided do to fatigue of hiking I would carry the gun on shoulder but then check the turret and if it spun I would zero it again. I could always zero it but since there was no zero stop I could not tell if it had made more than one complete spin. Jason and I finally got on a nice buck. set up with backpack on rock about 150 yards or so. Buck had no clue wew were there and you know the rest of the story. My first shot 4 feet to the left again.. I was so frustrated. I decided this time to just aim 4 feet infront of the buck. second shot was high and spined him but we got him. It was a great hunt. Had a great time. I decided right away when I got home to purchase a nightforce scope. HAs anyone else had this similar problem with their scope?? Possibly with only leupold. I know they make great scopes. But a word to the wise... beware to put turrets on a scope that might be intended to have one. Especially a windage turret. Thanks Jason for the help and a great time. you can find elk almost anywhere in unit 1. Greenspeak, Big lake, behind, greer, towards res lake, slades ranch, towards vernon, try some wilderness areas like the baldies. I would focus greenspeak or baldy wilderness. I guess alot of this depends on whether it is archery or rifle...what season. Have fun with the other hunters also.

I cant believe Game and fish is increasing the amount of anterless tags in the kiabab. As long as they are still offering anterless on the kiabab the herd will never come back.

Remember you get what you pay for... maybe try a scouting package through one of the guides.

interesting.... I guess I just rely on what my dad has said that the kiabab would be no joke to pass up 4 pts on the side of the road because you were going for that 30 incher. and ever since they offered doe tags in the late 70s they killed the herd and now the herd has never been the same. Wonder what transporting the does to other units in az would do to help the spread the great genetics to other areas in az. I agree on getting juniors involved but why not with elk?? plenty of elk tags. Just deer populations in az and across the west for that matter are hurting.

lucky to draww third choice 23 elk. September 19-24 archery. Never hunted here before. Anyone know this area where I can get started for scouting and what I can expect?? thanks

We always hunt around that area, good place would be saddle mountain area, Saliz pass on north west side, dar always in the open in the evenings, and mornings, and legit area should be good Thanks for the tips. Ill let everyone know how I do. We have cams out and looks like well be doing a pack in for a few days. Hopefully the wolves dont get us

Do you think that game and fish gets a kick out of this? Knowing that we are patiently waiting for the results so they delay the date they put it out. Its all a game to them. Then they laugh when we dont get drawn.

Draw results unavailable at this time....My guess is not till next week. Draw results have historically always been the third week in july. Dont see why they would come out any earlier this year. But its always fun to hope.

thanks 81 jons Ive been watching the fire tentatively. It seems tha tmost everything is getting under control. I dont think its going to cross into my unit. In fact part of 15 is burnt. Hopefully it will be a great hunt. Might just be my year.

I think there is only one unit in in New Mexico. I dont believe there is a north or south. It just says 23 Thanks
