You should not be able to buy stuff that has no nutritional value with food stamps. If you have more that 3 tats, you have no business getting food stamps. If you can afford $5 pack a cigs, you don't need food stamps. If you have a 30 pack of Keystone in your fridge, no food stamps. If you have rims and tires on your car that are worth more than the car itself...eat the tires cause you ain't gettin' no stamps! I like that criteria.....take it to the house and lets get it passed..... I say the only way the collect anything from the government is if they put in a days worth of work doing something. We have litter all over the place, buildings that need painted, ditches that need dug....plenty of things out there the government could do to make them earn their keep.... Amen to that brother. I gotta work to feed my family. No reason beneficiaries of the public dole shouldn't have to do a bit of work to get theirs.

Yep. Just down south a bit off of Power. +1 on Christmas. There are tons of great neighborhood light shows around the SE Valley! -
Sweeeet!!!! Nice Boar.

If you're going short magnum, I think the Winchesters are around for the long haul. The SAUM seems to have petered a bit, and doesn't offer the same performance anyway from what I understand. I've never been a big fan of those short stubbys, but they certainly have their following, and I'm sure that there are tons of guys using them and loving them. I know a lot of the ultra long range guys are doing the 6.5x284 thing. It will be harder on the barrels, but I'm not sure how much harder. Maybe talk to the guys at Krieger, or talk to Gary Schneider in Payson, or one of the other biggies and ask about their anticipated barrel life. Honestly, you probably can't go wrong with any of those.

Uh ... hunting alone in that type of environment ... you're braver than me bud. Get a buddy ... give that buddy a Home Defense 12 Gauge with 10 slugs to knock into that rug ... then for good measure get the Ruger Alaskan in .454 Casull. It's simple and compact ... pull the trigger and it goes BOOM ... with a LOT of knockdown.

Hoo boy!!! I haven't seen this much back and forth since TAM posted the picture of his 4+ years in the waiting Lion Mount, which someone aptly named "the Pink Panther"...man that thing still gives me nightmares!!! I like to hear both sides of the story before I decide what I am going to believe, so hopefully we'll see the other side soon ... I hate waiting. All that said, I know there is a lot of unethical crap that has gone on in the recent past ... usually centering around someone's "Trophy Animal". Blocking trails, slashing tires, sitting someone other than the hunter on a bedded animal all night to say their hunter "got there first". Hope that kind of crap hasn't made it's way to Arizona ... certainly not how I am teaching my boys to hunt. Hunting is about hard work, respect, an ethical code, and skill. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. PERIOD. And we all know which is which. I agree with the guy who said we need to police our own ... and educate our own too. I'll wait to form an opinion on the current thread until I see when/if the other side ever gets posted.

Picked a 10x14 unit up at Cabelas over the weekend. One of those fluke deals. Went into the bargain cave and they had one marked used that was priced down to $360 from $599. Opened it up in one of their Conference Rooms and everything was perfect. Looked to have been setup once ... maybe on grass. Got down to the register and what do you know ... marked off another 15%. Stole it for $305 plus tax. Got it home and set it up ... took all of about 5 minutes once we got it laid out. Took about the same amount of time to put it back in the bag. Camping just got a WHOLE LOT EASIER, and for CHEAP!!!

Just used it for my buddy's elk hunt. What a great tent!!! Couldn't be happier with that purchase. Should have bought a Powerball Ticket that day

I just got back from 6A where a buddy was hunting Archery Bull for the better part of the hunt. They've been very quiet where we were. A few here and there making noise once in a while. Starting picking up a bit last night and this AM, but still not super "active".

I guess I'm a traditionalist ... of the two I'd go with the .300WM. However, if you're looking just to 500 yards, you could go with something non-magnum and be just fine on most North American game. The venerable old .30-06 will make 500 pretty easy, especially with a bit longer barrel. Again ... maybe just being a traditionalist, but if you're in search of the "All Around Rifle Cartridge" I can't think of a better cartridge ... its earned that title many times over.

This bow has been sold from the Craigslist Advertisement.

SOLD SOLD SOLD ..... Genesis Bow for sale. Draw is 15-30" and up to 20 lbs. This has zero let off, so it is a great trainging bow for kids. New at Bass Pro these are $219 with no accessories. This bow has a premium wrist strap, removeable quiver, peep site, string loop, Carolina Archery violet light fiber optic site, and a Trophy Ridge Whisker Biscuit rest. Easy an extra $100 in parts. Bow is in good shape. Great little starter. My son graduated to a Diamond Razor Edge ... no sense in having it sit around, and he wants to put the money toward a youth pump shotgun. $150 OBO. Listed on Craigslist as well, but if it sells from here I'll donate to the site .

Wow. That is some nice work.

Okay ... so with the Ruger Timney Trigger down (and working like a charm), I decided to tackle putting a Timney in a Model 70 Classic Action (my other boy's Classic Compact). Taking the trigger out is a breeze ... trigger pin pushes out with a roll pin punch just as quick as you please. Not so for the sear pin. I'm a little bit leery about banging on it too hard ... but tapping just isn't getting it. Anyone else do this before? Did you have the same issue? Do I need to just quit being a wuss and rap on it pretty good? Thanks.

B&C has one through Stockys for just over $200 that has a full length bedding block. I got one (called an Ultralight) for my Winchester M70 .30-06 and I like it just fine (though that rifle will be wearing a new caliber soon). Quality seems pretty darn good. That said, I am sure McMillan and/or Manners make one for the A-bolt. They will run you about 2.5X what you'd pay for the B&C. Are they better ... undoubtedly. It is just a matter of what you want to spend. I didn't want to drop $550 on a stock, so I went B&C.

I think that'll turn a dog inside out. Nice rig!!!

Okay ... so I'm guessing from lack of response I may be high on the price. You never know with this stuff. Anyone interested at all? Make me a reasonable offer.

These "incursions" have been going on for some time now, and they will continue with the weak policies of the current (and some prior) Executive Branch(s). It won't change until we get a hardline "Borders" policy in place. And you are right ... if the hunters had been deer hunters with long range rifles and had fired back and killed a couple of those "Mexican Federal Agents", they'd be the ones on the hot seat. That's how screwed up our media and politics are. Can't tell you how many times I've heard some extreme Liberal say "they were here first" when referring to the problem of illegal immigration. I feel like sayin' "Well Bozo ... why don't we just start givin' everything back ... starting with your house." I swear ... I guess it's true what they say ... "YOU JUST CAN'T FIX STUPID".

Bought my boy the Razor Edge. It is fast, quiet, and is adjustable as all get out.

Good luck to you Casey! I'd be taking that other spot if I wasn't already committed to helping my buddy out on his Archery Bull Elk hunt. Maybe next year ...

I have an early 1990's Leupold VXII 3x9x40mm in Matte Silver that I'd like to sell. Decent glass for the money. Couple of light scope ring marks, but otherwise in good shape ... lived most of it's life with Butler Creek caps. Would make a nice scope for a stainless rifle. Making room for some higher end glass atop of the old girl. $195.00 OBO. I'll throw in the Leupy Rings for an extra $25.00 ... Winchester Bases, but they are two piece so you can change that out.
-
Okay ... anyone interested at $140 including rings? I think that price is pretty darn low for a Leupy... If I had another stainless rifle I'd mount it up, but I don't, and don't plan on another anytime soon. Any takers?

Okay ... not good at Range Reports, but here goes. Took the new Ruger to Cunningham's today and ran 200 rounds freehand (no rest) down the pipe. Pardon my shooting ... it's not the pistol so much as me. It did shoot a little low left for me if I didn't really focus. But that is on me. First 20 rounds at 7 yards: Same target with a total of 100 rounds at 10 yards ... couple of flyers in there: New target with 100 rounds at 15 yards ... started a little low and left, but improved a bit. Need to improve a bit more: I'd start this by saying WOW. If you want a "Meat and Potatoes" 1911, I think you'd be hard pressed to find one as good as this. It doesn't have all the features that some other guns have, but it has a much smaller price tag too. The trigger is very crisp, and is fairly light. I'd still like to get a little of the uptake out of it, so I'll be off to a 'Smith as soon as I find a good one for 1911's. It is smooth operating and tight, but not overly so. When I did my part, it functioned without flaw. No FTF's or FTB's like my Kimber. I say when I did my part, because it is prone to the same user error as other 1911's. It stovepiped a couple later in the shooting, but I limp wristed them (once by accident and once on purpose). The machine work looks good. The magazine release is a little stiff, but I figure that will wear in a little. The 7 round magazine is very good. The 8, not as good, as it was very tight and stiff to load. I may send it to Ruger to have them look at it (feels like it needs opened a little), or maybe I'll just get a WC or Ed Brown Magazine or two and call it good. All in all, I was really impressed. It is a great pistol right out of the box. I don't really HAVE to do anything to it. I just want to. But what a great starting point!!! I look forward to shooting it a lot ... and trying to improve my shooting ... that's going to take some work. Have to thank you for pointing this one out Lark. I may have never looked at it without reading your post.
