Next Governor of Arizona?
sjvcon replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
By the way...my Conservative Harvard Grad Attorney buddy read it backward and forward and said it was nonsensical and created more problems than it solved (1 is more than it solved).. -
Next Governor of Arizona?

They're all crooks on the take. We'll probably end up with a bunch of Dems in office with the Republicans screwing around with nonsense the way they do. 1062 was a badly written joke that was totally unnecessary in this State. The Legislators looked like fools. Am I for Religious Freedom....you betcha....but focus on real issues you morons!!!! -
Sig 224 .40, Sig 229 9mm, Ruger1911, HK USP .45, Ruger Redhawk .44Mag, Ruger Service Six Snubby. I carry them all....just not at once.

Also ... is there quite a bit of rust on the rest of the body, or did you get rid of all of it when you replaced the floor boards? Frame in decent shape?

What transfer case and axles??

I went through the same decision last year. I love the Zeiss glass, but there wasn't much difference to me after much time looking through both. At the end of the day it came down to warranty. Vortex NO FAULT is the best around. Couldn't get around that ... so I went with the Razors. Not dissatisfied.

You can bed a factory synthetic, but they are probably not stiff enough to be a "really" good platform. You don't need to go to the expense of a Manners or McMillan to get a good stock (of course ... they are EXCELLENT). I'd check prices at Stocky's for some of their stocks. They have some laminated wood stocks with aluminum bedding built in and of course the B&C and HS stuff, which is really decent for the most part. Worst case, get a laminated stock cheap and put pillars in it. Trigger ... done. Decent stock and careful bedding. Good glass. The only other thing would be to have the action trued and a barrel, but that gets into real money. Factory barrels aren't great, but they are capable of shooting (most of the time). Tubbs makes some ammo that you can shoot to "lap" the barrel. Might be worth looking into that. not really expensive I don't think. Good luck.

unless you hit cable!! Then you cracked, leaking, and fu$ked!!Hammer drill will stop on a cable or rebar. If you hit one, pick another spot to set an anchor. Not a big deal. Not necessarily with a cable. I've seen them shoot out of a PT slab from nothing more than a hammer drill. Happened at Raintree Corporate Center, and there was a cable sticking 15' out of a Spandral Window Pane. Xray or image the floor. It is not inexpensive, but it costs less than busting a cable. Trust me ... I've seen it many times. It is not worth the risk. -
Where are you located? What draw weight?

Palmated muley buck ... very cool. Nice work.

I guess it comes down to knowing your own limits and imposing your limits on yourself. I don't expect someone to follow the guidelines I set for me ... they should set their own guidelines that are realistic for them. We certainly don't need to legislate any more than we already have ... the Government couldn't run a successful $0.02 Whorehouse in a Prison ...

Cabela's Bargain Cave can have some decent stuff ... but you can probably find a Diamond Razor's Edge or Ultimate Edge (update) on Craigslist or Archerytalk.com in the adds. Those are great starter bows. When she gets ready for the bow she will keep for a long time, go to Archery Headquarters, Ross or the place in North Phoenix and get fit by an expert. There is no substitute when it comes to getting it right.

Vortex is Japan I think. Wonder how much better the Prime's are than the ED3's.

Anyone have an opinion of these vs say a Vortex Viper HD? 10X. I was thinking of getting some new glass for my boys.

You should be able to look at the specs on the mount to know where the centerline of tube is (and or bottom of tube). From there it is a simple calc based on the outside diameter of the 50mm objective (which is bigger than 50).

Let us know how they work. Lots of guys have had feeback on Kenton ... but those are quite a bit more $$$.

On the Sportsman's thing ... I have had decent conversations with those guys, but if you want to go into a store in the Phoenix area and get in depth information you have to go to Outdoorsman's. I'd agree with the post above that says to call Doug at Cameraland ... only issue there is not being able to look through them, but you could talk to him, go to a store and look through your choices and then buy through him. His prices are very good.
