Some say that the new Ford Motors are good ... the 6.0 died a few years back ... IT WAS A TURD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice Truck C & S ... if I had $11K to put toward a vehicle rather than other necessary things (horses, tractor, etc.) I'd be all over that.

All this talk about medical bills....can't wait to see what my spinal fusion in two weeks is going to get billed out at. Price you pay for being dumb as a youngster and lifting a soda fountain machine...that and 23 years of on and off pain. I'd like to go back in time and punch myself in the nose. Glad Cole is okay and has some time to heal up before the season.

Political Discussions request
sjvcon replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I, for one, will miss the sharing of viewpoints. Like Snap....I rarely see where the politics related to hunting get near the views or participation levels as the general politics. Oh well... -

Oneshot and Dustin25 debate islam...

I have only one thing to say....educate yourself. Know the things that are around you that can do you harm and be ready for them. Being forewarned is being forearmed. Train for the worst and hope for the best. If you are caught flat footed, you'd better be a lot tougher than the other guy. If you aren't....YOU'RE SCREWED. -
So I was really sure I wanted to hunt the Bear Wallow Burn this year. Felt like just enough time had passed to do well in there. GOT DRAWN. Too bad for me that I have to have a L5/S1 Spinal Fusion ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess my tag will go to my youngest boy in hopes he can get another one this year. I should be just well enough to be camp cook while my Dad and my buddy take the boys out to hunt.

I had the injections today. Hurt worse than anything I have ever felt in my life. Is giving me some back pain relief for sure, but the structural issues are still there. I am pretty sure I am having the fusion while I am still in otherwise good health and have the insurance to cover it. Call me a cynic, but I am unsure of the future state of things in our medical system. I also don't like some of the longterm effects of multiple steroid injections.

For our fourth consecutive year, the Men’s Ministry at my Church is putting on a Charity Golf Event for “Feed My Starving Children” … an organization that feeds starving children in countries all around the world (see www.fmsc.org for more information). The tournament is on September 27th at Cottonwood Country Club in Sun Lakes. Last year, as with the two years prior, we were able to donate more than $10K to the FMSC Organization from Tournament Sponsors, Hole Sponsors, and Auction and other proceeds. This was with far less than the 36 foursomes that would represent a “Full Field” (I think we had 19 or 20). Our goal this year is to fill this thing up and donate much more. The tournament cost is $99 per player, which includes lunch. We can sign up singles and put them into groups, or full foursomes for $396. There are also Hole Sponsorships available for $250, which gets a sign on the tee box with all of your pertinent information. A Tournament Sponsorship runs $1000 and includes a foursome of golf and a hole sponsorship sign as well. We are also asking for any donations to the Silent Auction that can be made. In the past, we've been able to auction golf clubs (wedges, woods and full sets), sports memorabilia (autographed footballs, baseballs, photos), tickets to ballgames (Suns/Cardinals/D'Backs/Coyotes) and many other great items. Unfortunately, due to back issues and an impending surgery, I cannot actually play this year, but I will be helping out as much as possible with the event (either at the event or behind the scenes -- hopefully at the event God willing). That is more painful than you know, since my team has won it two of the three years ... and I'm a crummy golfer!!! Anyway, it is a very worthy cause. If you can participate in any way, please send me a PM with your email and I will send you the full brochure with all of the specifics. There are lots of kids out there that need food, and this organization does a great job of getting food where it needs to go. Thanks. And thanks to Amanda and this great Website for letting me get the word out. Steve

Amanda: Just tried to PM you about getting the word out about a Charity Golf Tournament for an international world hunger organization called Feed My Starving Children, but you "cannot receive messages". Just wanted to ask permission before posting anything about the event.

Which is amazing since the Left preaches tolerance, women's rights, etc. But when you question them about support of Islam and show them the attrocities committed against people who are different (religiously or socially) or women, they clam up.

sjvcon replied to Saguaro's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
129 Grains on Elk? Was that Cow or Bull? I'd think that would be a little light, but Barnes does make a heck of a bullet!!!
