Before I dive into the full rebuild my plan is to do a leakdown. The mechanic I use for compqny vehicles recommended that, but said the symptoms (to him) seem to indicate I might have bad rings. A leakdown would either support or refute that (or should). My son thought it could be the turbo, which some on here have said as well, but a lot of smoke is coming out of the valve cover breather. Not sure a turbo would do that??? The nuisance stuff isn't a huge deal...I've had it for almost 13 years...a lot of the little stuff has been done in the last 4 or so.

Not sure I buy that it is dumb. Truck has about 40K on the Trans, Torque Converter and Flex Plate. About 10K on the tires. Shocks and both diffs were done in the last 2 years. If I spent $18K on another truck I'd get one with 200K. That is lower than the mileage I have, but I don't know how it has been maintained. At least with this truck I know that. Not saying I'd do it if it were my personal vehicle. heck … I'd buy a 1 Ton Gas if it were mine, just because diesel likes to gel where cold and I am moving to the cold soon. But if the choice is this truck with a reman or a half ton … I am going with this one all day long.

The reman will take care of that...rings are bad. The rest of the parts are what SHOULD get replaced with the Reman...nit doing it would be dumb.

Company ride, and I doubt they'll spring $70k, which is what a truck the way mine is set up would cost. Got 1 quote of $18k...easier to swallow that pill. Just hoping for a quote in the $15k range. Otherwise I'll end up with some little junk half ton....no thanks.

Have several Single Basin and a couple of Double Basin Stainless Break Room Sinks. Pulled out of various Tenant spaces over the years. Some have faucets and some don't. Would make good wash sinks in a shop, garage, loading room, etc. Was selling, but at this point I'd just like to get rid of them. Anyone want a free sink?? Also have two Bedside Top of Rail Delta Boxes. Functional but not pretty. You want them, they are yours.

I have some Southwest Trailer Brake Drums. Brand new with bearings. Fit the standard 3500# Axle Setup with the larger interior bearing and smaller exterior bearing. Stud pattern is FIVE ON FIVE. This pattern is critical and WHY I AM SELLING. I screwed up when I ordered them … switching back and forth between items on Amazon and when I finally decided I hit the order button … fully thinking I was looking at the Five on Four and a Half I had been looking at ALL DAY. Whoops. Mounted them before I realized I had screwed it up. These would cost you $50 a piece new. I'd like $50 for both … but I'll entertain offers. Color me stupid … teach me to flip flop from website to website comparing. Knew the spec … botched the order.

Usually with Foam we stick with Foam. I've used Southwest, ANM and a few others over the years. ANM is pretty reasonable, but hard to get ahold of, which is a pain. I believe Highland does Foam also … had them quote one for me not long ago. Pretty sure Progressive does and Pioneer does not. Progressive is one of the larger guys … Mark Farrell … good guy.

We've had some luck with an overlay system that Highland uses. What type of roof is on it now? I work with all the big names in town ... Progressive, Pioneer, Specialty, Etc. For cost we've gone to this system Highland uses and it seems to be pretty decent.
