Well I thought I would throw up a quick fishing report. Us bank fishing cat fishers are usually unrepresented among the fishing pages so here's one for us. Hit Bartlett Sunday afternoon and spent the night fishing for cats. The lake level is low, I think the report was 35%. There are no boat ramps in the water, everything is launched off the beaches. Lots of shallow water but its nice and clear. Still a little cold to walk in for us older folks. I didn’t see anyone on bank or boat having much action going on. Boats out all night were quiet so I can guess not much action with crappie or bass cranking up yet. But we did catch catfish. They were small to smaller but we had action the whole time we were there. I bet there wasn’t half an hour without someone reeling one in. But of course we were fishing in what we now call Small Cat Hole so no monsters to be had. If any of you get the change to try the dip bait and a sponge hook that’s all we could get hits on. Liver, shad, and even hotdogs struck out. And don’t act like you’ve never fished with hot dogs! Nice time to get the kids out, but friggen cold at night. I talked them all into sleeping on the ground with no tent and boy that was a bad call. Here’s a few pics, enjoy. Water level is down, but where else can you drive down and camp next to the water! Nice day to sit and do nothing but watch a pole! Thats my "Happy Place" just staring at the pole and thinking of nothing. Biggest catch of the night. My daughter needed help. This wasnt my biggest and that weird sunlight made my hair look grey!

+1 again on getting up the base of the rim and glassing. Most is too thick to try to see any distance. I found that most good glassing spots had people and any water by roads had people but get a little off those and its pretty empty of hunters. Dude burn is still pretty good I think, seems to be a popular side. I thought that took in part of HArdscrabble also, that is an often overlooked area and good for glassing.

There are no statutes listed in the regs that I or apparently anyone else can find. It has to be written to be law. Where else would restrictions on calibers for hunting be listed if not in the hunting regulations? It actually does say "This list is for informational purposes only and lists important information or major changes that have occurred since publication of the last hunt draw booklet. Individuals should thoroughly read and understand the appropriate regulations prior to submitting an application or going afield. Which I found and took to mean the regs are your basics laid out but read regulations for each appropriate species. After each Legal Requirement it lists the statute to refer to. Unless I am not reading it right?
