Back when the year 2000 when the world was going to shut down I helped my boss stockpile pallets of fancy MRE's and water at his house. When we were done and talking he asked how I was stocked. I listed my guns and ammo supplies, since he never owned any firearms he was puzzled and said he didnt understand. I said I have your food now. He finally understood! But never has bought a gun. You cant protect you and yours with a bottle of water!

Frustrating as it can be stop and take a breath. My tranny is being rebuilt right now and my son has to work so he wont be there, all a bummer but that is life. We have our health and family, throw in a chance to hunt and we are all golden. Some trips just dont work out the way we want.

Did for dove season. Most of the doves were hard to see so anything farther out wont make it. It is more of a close watch your face/trail type of thing. Plus pointing your gun where you are going so you can film gets old.

Ruger SP101 hands down. Small frame, double action, 38/357 whichever you are feeling. Nothing like a revolver they just feel right to me. Wish I still had it to loan, dang it. And I dont have much experience, probably less than a lot of you, but a 22 seems like bad advice. I actually saw someone shot in the chest with one and it did not make it past the rib. I'd hate to see someone using that as their defense round for man or critter.
