Me and Jake went out this morning before work and spotted a herd of Mulies. I set up in front of them while Jake glassed. They got to within 150 yards and the wind changed and they were out of there. With the deer leaving we resumed glassing and picked up a lone pig about a mile and a half out. We hiked back to the truck made a circle around them and got the wind right. We stalked to within 50 yards and watched as Jake's pig walked to 26 yards and Jake double lunged him. After Jake's shot pigs were running everywhere so Jake started woofing and my pig walked in at 25 yards. I drew back and got a head shot. Great morning and then it was off to the roof. Jake's old man got his yesterday about a mile from there.

Seen two 4x4 mulies alone, a big fork alone and 5 herds of doe with no more than a spike with them over the weekend.

I have harvested two with my bow. I aimed for the center of both and ended up hitting the hip on one and the wing and hip on the other. I took off running after both with the first one only going 5 yards. The second one I ran down in about 50 yards, it must of looked funny this fat boy chasing a turkey down .

Think you're talking bout Steve. He is a great guy and has worked with me in the past. Left him a message while he was in the hospital in the valley to let me know if he needs anything but have not heard back from him. Heard it was both ankles but that should not keep him down to long if his heart attack didn't. He's a tough old roofer.

1)Have the self control not to stick an arrow in a forker no matter how close they are. 2)Get my nine year old ready to start hunting in 2011.

Sorry to hear of the loss of another hunter hopes and prayers to his family.

My first pig was shot using the J13. Brother and me called and it came charging in to 15 yrds if we were not on a 30' bank it would have been in our laps. It kept trying to climb the bank and I actually missed twice before hitting it and that is the only thing that stopped it from trying to climb the bank. Since that first pig all other pigs I have seen are running the other way, I think that call has become over used by hunters.

Congrats on the bull. It can be difficult locating the big ones on the late hunt but it still is a blast just huntin and seein elk.

Took a buddy of mine out on his first big game hunt today. He had drawn a late rifle second hunt bull tag and I told him we could probably get a bull and he said any bull would work for his first. I scouted an area that held a few elk but did not receive a lot of hunting pressure. Wednesday I glassed this 4pt bull up and Thursday the same bull about 150 yards from where he was on Wednesday. Told my buddy and he said he would like that bull for his first. This morning we glassed for four hours where I had seen him and nothing. We decided to walk into where I had glassed the bull the two days prior and found him four hundred yards down the same canyon. Mark missed a couple of shots and then connected putting him down. Mark was shaking, giving fives, thanking the lord and saying he is hooked for life. I know a lot of people on here know the feeling of helping someone get their first animal and it is hard to beat .

Hope you have a speedy recovery. Best of luck to you on the turkey this spring and there will be another elk hunt.

Good to go, I've glassed a few up. Think you can get some time off work?

Hunting elk, deer or whatever tomorrow should be fun. The most wonderful time of the year. Where will you be?

It was a great year in field. Got to help some people get there first deer and others get some more memories of the hunt. I was able to get four animals with my bow all from the double deuce, nothing big but lots of fun. Maybe January I will start trophy hunting. Hope all of you have had and are having a great year.
