I had a tag for the second season and it turned out to be a tough season for us. I hunted the first two days with a buddy Tim who is pretty darn good with the calls and nothing no gobbles, no strutting, and no bird. The only gobbles I got to hear were before season. Yesterday I decided to go set a ground blind for the first time with one of my daughters. We finally got to see some strutting as two jakes came in and saw the decoy. My daughter loved it and said she could not believe how excited she was. It was a great time no long beard but she didn't care.

Hey sounds like a good day, spend sometime outdoors with the wife and El Rancho is always good. Baja Enchiladas and mug of Bud Light is my dinner of choice

Paying him back for raising you right, good job -
That's right TJ and it makes a whole lot of sense but remember I am just a roofer

Nice videos, especially the turkeys

Well done Tj. It was a rough weekend out there with the wind. We managed to call in nothing and saw only elk. Glad to see you stuck it out and got your bird.

I shoot Wasp Boss 100 grain. They have passed completely through 5 deer and 3 elk for me, the blades are razors and they are replaceable. They fly great with my set up. They are not that expensive either.

Good question and topic. My brother drew an early Muzzle loader tag and we no experience with a muzzle loader. It is gonna be a learning summer. Any other tips towards muzzle loader elk would be great. Is 50 cal the best option with accuracy, ballistics and knock down power or I heard some talk for a 45? Any help? Good topic 308.
