If I had a rifle tag the pines would be my last option I want to be able to glass a big bull and move in for a shot under 300 yards.

I drew my first early tag in ten years this year. I had dreams of holding out for a 340 type bull but anyone that knows me knows I like to hunt and shooting animals with my bow is an obsession regardless of size. On day one we only heard about 8 bugles in the morning but had a great looking tank for the evening. I sat from 3pm till dark and passed on 8 little bulls as hard as it was I let them walk from 16 yards to 50 yards. Day 2 we decided to get up high and glass. We picked up a big heard 35+ about 4 miles out. We got in close and Jake began to call. I see an elk body through the Juniper in front of me and drew. My bull walks out at 26 yards broadside, I count 6x6 decent length and touch off the release. Well I fell short of my goal again but had a blast and he is a perty bull

That bull is a beast congrats to the hunter.

Yes we catch a lot of little bass, blue gill, crappie and even a 3+ lbs bass once in a while. Nothing against trout we catch those once in a while too but if people want a trout only lake woods canyon is right down the road

Here is one we got a hour after a 15 minute down pour on Friday.

They were going crazy this morning and yesterday! Will take anything the weather brings but wind tomorrow.

We just went and let my daughter shoot her Rem 870 for her hunt next week. I have her set up with a Super Full Turkey choke and 3" #5 Turkey loads. If there is a Tom inside of 30 yards she is good to go. She has been waiting for Friday for about 360 days
