almost all land is open to free grazing rights across Arizona as most are old ranches that have grandfather clauses about grazing- - you are basically told if you don't want cattle on your property - fence it in if anyone thinks having a license # makes it easy to find out who owns the vehicle - please do so and show proof and I'll take it from there - lol - tried that route

it's probably the geek guy who is responsible for getting hunters to sign into the NEW webpage - if he gets 500 the first day he gets a bonus if it comes online and no one signs up for an account - it might look bad!

Your loss is felt buy many whom did not know Adam. Very sad to hear this. we all know our honored troops can slip away from us ,after doing so much.

just for the record - I have never used a set-up blind - I've always made ground blinds or fixed up old ones- lol I willin some places , use the blind material - stake it off or tie to trees in a tri -angle etc . and brush it in main thing is to block off your back side as to not have a silhouette.

like I stated when they said the program would automatically update my new hunting # - money order and paper only - got no worries till they post the results G&F hasn't ever gotten the online right the first time !!!! look at all the time and $$$$$ and resources wasted in the last several years dealing with the online programing and dealing with credit cards and the applications - and it's still happening !!???

The early bird doesn't always get the worm- but they can sure screw things up for everyone. the people whom are doing most of the illegal activity are not going to change - stopping them isn't going to happen any time soon - once a greedy person breaks all the rules and brags to their friends and shows their harvest and what cash it can bring - they are like flies to a pile of dung - they will all want their share - and do anything to get it. The good old days are gone - we live in a different world - we care for our hunting - fishing- the outdoors , the respect for our heritage and share it with the ones we love and keep it safe and want to try to change the future for better days , but no way it will ever be the same . For everyone of us-- there are dozens of those who will not respect crap and never will - they do not care what others think sorry guys -

last several yrs - its always been after the G&F expo at Ben Avery - do not really care about the CC - bs this yr --all paper

Spending 3 hrs under a single street light at 9:30 pm to process the spike elk on the tailgate of my truck by myself - enough said
-
more than once I've set up blinds midday -for elk season - at a waterhole - then get in it about 3 - generally the first thing to show up is turkeys - its been my way of seeing if the blind is going to work- when they walk all around it quietly yelping and stand at the shooting lanes eye balling you at 5 ft or less and then the whole flock goes on to take a drink it passes the turkey test I know the elk won't see a thing

Vaquero outfitters charged with chasing antelope
elkaholic replied to Explorer's topic in Antelope Hunting
well hopefully they had Shawn in charge of this one - remember he waited days to catch- get the evidence on the unsuspecting duck hunter with his son - for one duck -
at auctions around town they bring around 200-400 depending on size - a lot are online auctions and people can't even really examine the hides for rubs or missing teeth/claws and they still bring about the same - saw a shoulder buffalo mount in excellent condition and a great job of taxidermy go for 500 - was shocked as it probably cost 3-4 times that just to get one mounted - never really know these days - like anything else if they really like it - the price can go anywhere

Attention everyone please read
elkaholic replied to Maverick351's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting

Any one every stashed hunting gear-supplise in the back country?
elkaholic replied to jgraffaz's topic in The Campfire
Same as above - in younger yrs . several weeks before season hike in camp/supplies - the little stove - a couple ponchos for tent - water - lantern the biggest mistake is food - like stated above - Bears got into the wrapped up / stuffed up in a tree and poked big tooth holes in all the cans of stew etc. water jugs - - we managed to spend one night but haven't tried it since - anymore with all the new light weight stuff for backpacking - that's the only way to go - -
biggest ever that i've taken weighed 52 lbs field dressed hanging on the ranchers cattle scale- it was the smallest of 3 boars in the area . one pregnant female made them all look small - she looked like a large over stuffed potbelly pig- with belly draggin the ground

tell them you are interested and need all their current information along with creditable / successful hunter evaluations - happy hunters along with all their contact information - make them jump thru hoops to get you to sign and send money - see where it leads knowing you'll not go
-
you'll have to put in for the spring draw for javelina most units will have piggys - look thru the game and fishing Site - under hunting and where to hunt - gives basic information on where to find the different speices for each hunt unit if you are lucky and draw a tag - usually not too hard - then you can also add the over the counter deer tag and expand your hunting possiblilities. no guaranties on either speices and if you have good optics and the time to get out and hunt - then a guide isn't really necessary . if time is limited then you might change your plans - on an added note a week is not enough time to come here and enjoy our spring climates I've started making trips to Wisc for the general deer hunt - I take 20 days and it goes way to fast - the coldest day on the hunt was 18 below with the wind chill - was a great time even though I didn't fill my tag comin earlier this yr for the bow season
-
javelina breed year round - little piglets "REDS" are very common during the spring hunts - one can only hope another female has reds - or I doubt they will survive long kinda a bummer but that is a legal animal to shoot
