the one antler buck - probably dropped the other one - look for sheds in the areas of the trails coming and going from your cameras

go down on a weekend and chat with the ranchers - offer your services with the kids pitching in to do a few chores around the place and gates will open !!

nice little herd of cows on my saddle last yr. first time I seen more than just a couple love to see several yearlings had a couple bulls next to my shed

it shouldn't be hard to find bugling bulls in 10 before during and after the early rifle hunt . Make sure you can access the main roads just about any late evening or early morning and hearing bugles shouldn't be a problem just about any of the side roads off the 124 rd should hold no"s of elk in and around the meadows and tanks the 6 rd -- the 7 rd the cataract canyon areas now these are the most traveled areas but if you spend a little time and take the little side rds off these you should be able to figure out a few hot spots good luck - great tag

Once a taxidermist loses his reputation - he will not be around long All this is sad to say old news - as Rick took a bashing on the late rut-n-hard site, which by the way built his business. Sad to know he has never once admitted he is bad for the taxidermy business and rips people off , with out any signs of guilt or remorse- or refund I'd say more but all we can do is spread the word. hunted several different days - had gobbling every time but they went silent very early - even this am in the woods set up by 5 called till 8 picture perfect day -- one very distant gobble at 6 . jumped one hen - pretty sure she was nested oh well great time getting out in some great country - seen elk / deer but no turkeys for me! hopin for more turkeys next yr as no reports of success this yr. friend missed one at 30 yrds - patterned gun - over /under 12 ga. - should of used bottom barrel - shot over all over for us now! didn't set tank as all the rain grass / clover covered with fresh rain / dew

just post the 3 shot 200 yrd clover leaf group from the range - won't last long

1600 cow elk tag sell for $240,000 approx. that's just 2 rifle cow hunts in 10 - they been doing it for over 10 yrs- sure not all hunters hunt the bo but you get the idea a lot more money then you think they have cashed in on the big herds - they are long gone

big trout -- boober - split shot down 18 in - 24 in - small wide gapped type circle hook down 6 in more --- tipped with chunk of worm - salmon egg and kernel of corn cast out and wait - usually use this combo from shore as its fairly easy to cast - great results

just watched bowmadness - south dakota show - not sure if that's where they were hunting antelope but they were using horses as a blocker out in the open plains . had a herd of antelope usually with in 70 yrds by just walking beside/ behind the horses - to block the antelopes view - hunter just stepped out in front of horse, off to the side - he did this several times before takin the shot - there was a guide - hunter- camera man and 2 saddled horses he finally took a shot at 62 yrds EDGE where are you going to be on my 10 tag next yr.! seems like a new technique - maybe even for elk in the open meadows

Even shooting from a saddle with a crossbow - during rifle season- would and could be a lot of fun -- lol !

she may very well have had the crap beat out of here by another elk - if it was a car - most likely be dead as it breaks the legs ect. , the bruises up pretty high on ribs looks like a hoof mark

edge - go to ebay - they have a used pair of snake boots ---- type in search -- danner pronghorn gore-tex snake boot size 13 looks like they are asking 70 shipping 15 they run 230 new cheaper than turtle skin gaiters though they have a good selection of snake gaiters with prices all over

Any tag is basically a good tag - it's the effort that is put into the hunt, that will decide how good of a tag it turns out to be for the hunter.

I still remember a job at a clothing import store - early 70's - $2.00 hr they had a big shipment come in - new styles - 10k order - we worked late to get it shipped right after unloading and transporting to store from the airport -- so the order could get out ASAP the next morning we got a 10 cent an hr raise for our services !- lol

yep they get a super tag like - early rifle - any unit - the guy waited upteen yrs to draw- 20 pts . - he can not go - so turn it in no questions asked no big dilemma for g&f - give it to the next guy in line or auction it off to the highest bidder - doors wide open guys with this crap they say is good for the few people that had legitimate excuses for not being able to hunt and complained about the unfair system CASH COW

Did you miss this fact that they can reissue the tag however they want - if its a premo unit / tag - it may never get to the list ! ^^^^

looks like another cash cow for G&F $5 extra every applicant for every species turn it in no questions asked up until the day before the hunt - total BS heres where we said all the time some kinda restrictions would need to be required - agin impute to g&f falling on deft ears when it comes to extra $$$$
