hello - even though i can't stand to watch this moron speak -i may have to start-- i guess he was agin intent on buying his thoughts and policies - Something needs to be done to stop this power trip ! i read this and wanted to pass it on-this is a summary and a reaction- "Obama made his speech in Egypt this Morning...He talked about giving Millions and BILLIONS of Dollars to all these foreign Muslim Countries If they embrace certain Ideals , Millions of dollars in Scholarships for foreign students to come get an education in America...So while Americans are suffering from this "depression" he wants to give away Taxpayer Dollars like a drunken Sailor in a House of Ill repute... You cant keep printing More Money on a "Trust Basis" and keep giving it away on the Backs of Hard working Americans without something coming back in to the treasury for very long , Because Collapse and Bankruptcy would be inevitable...Trust only goes so far. Hillary Clinton slammed George Bush for going to Saudi Arabia and trying to get More oil produced to Lower prices on Barrels(Begging)...I wonder what she has to say now that her "Boss" did the same thing.(begging) " American's need to wake up before it's too late! hello - It wasn't too long ago - just a parked truck on a side road was enough of a hint that a hunter was probably in the area - now a days forget it - I don't mind the sign as long as its put up before he enters and after he leaves an area ! I actually appreciate the signs put out by out duck hunters on lakes so I know not to disturb their hunting blinds - but here agin as long as they are present ! I don't think a lot of hunters can accept the idea of a posted sign stating - I'm hunting here - please be courtious , i was here first and please try another spot. I was sitting a secluded tank one evening for 3 hrs. my truck is parked on the only rd leading to the tank -1/2 mile away . I had at least a dozen people actually pull up and get out of their trucks to look for sign - right up to and including prime time shooting hrs. I don't think a sign would have made any difference - maybe but i doubt it ! Like I stated in a previous post - even camping spots are in demand. most of us don't get drawn every yr. but we usually camp in the exact same spot yr. in and yr. out - Now if you are smart ,you'd better reserve it by going up 1-2 weeks ahead of season and set-up camp- leave a trailer or tents a spare truck anything ! If you don't i 'll pretty much guarente it's been taken . Just like tanks/waterholes the good ones get taken first come first serve I wonder how long someone's posted sign would last at my favorite camping spot before elk season - About as long as it would take to start my campfire - lol -- Gary

hello- Sorry - i hope this wasn't how it was meant -- rightfully his area !? That alone would have my hackle up - ok it's only archery deer - but bottom line - nobody can lay claim to a specific spot just because they hunted the area in years past . - ok - you compromise and move on- how many times are you gonna be willing to move on ! Gary ok - being sacastic- figures but some people think that way !

hello -- Battle of the Waterhole- In years past I've seen stands with engraved dates /names etc. I've seen and heard of groundblinds being torn apart by tree standers and trees covered with unsanitary deposits. I've seen and heard of face to face confortations and have yet to witness a battle! Nobody owns sole /private hunting areas or spots. even though many may think so- I've even seen minor pissin matches about camping spots for hunting season - It's first come-first serve! getting their early doesn't mean you have exclusive rights to the spot either. we've been in blinds and tree stands waiting 2-3 hrs before prime shootingtimes , only to have other hunters barge in and try to set-up at the last second-so to speak . It's so that even the most remote places are getting overcrowded. I say give chris a call and inform him - politely -that dispite his nice invitation to hunt someplace else that you also have plans to hunt this same area - at the same time - and go from there - Most hunters can get along but every now and then lines are drawn and the battles begin - good luck - the gauntlet has been thrown - Gary

hello - ok -with 6 bogus points my name is not in the hat 7 times but only once with the lowest # out of seven random #'s drawn - for each of the passes ! thanks Gary
-
hello - ok red rabbit -- from what I've been told on the bogus points - say I have 6 whatever spiecies. someone said my name is assigned to 6 randum numbers for the draw -so i actually have 6 chances-- what I understand -told-that you are issued one number but they draw 6 different times to lower that number - so the lowest the number assigned the better chance of being draw - whats the true story here !? gary

AZ G&F being sude over capture & tranq of Macho B
elkaholic replied to azhuntergirl's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
hello - from some information that is going around - some of these same "groups ' are responable for taking female urine and attracting the cats from accross the border. For the sole purpose of disrupting the system and being able to claim these animals have been here all along and need protecting ! From most sourse these animals occassionally crossed into the U.S from Mexico but never in a mating pair looking to establish new territory ! I think the g&f did all the could to see Macho had every possible expert in the field present and have imput on the decissions that were made. As usuall the press prints inaccurate information and the thing blows up and these activists think they are doing something good ,when in fact they are making the situation even worse . what are they going to prove with this laww suit . It's like - we'll show those guys they can't get away with this , when in fact nothing illegal happened ! Gary -
hello - setting up stand sites- nlacost- Don't get me wrong but i picture corn feeders / blocks of salt /other forms of baiting etc. If I find a spot next to a spring or creek-with good sign - I may sit and evening or morning - maybe a saddle ,witha worn trail . I've never been in one place long enough to give thought of setting up a stand. I'm sure there are areas that you may be able to pattern a deers movement - Especially if you got the time to do so! I'm not trying to be judgemental of how one hunts or prepares for a hunt! setting up stand sites- to be honest a bit of jealousy- maybe - I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you'll draw a tag for your areas ! gary

hello - All that bonus point 1stchoice -2nd choice % this- that -- AHHHHHHHHHHH-- way to confusing to me - I have been for the last 3 yrs. trying to get them to change a very simple item - it aint possible -- go to page 112 of the regulations - -this is under lawfull methods for taking wilfdlife - #9 turkey : To take turkey: a. Centerfire rifles; b. Muzzleloading rifles; c. All other rifles using black powder or synthetic black powder; d. Centerfire handguns; e. Handguns using black powder or synthetic black powder; f. Shotguns shooting slugs; g. Bows with a standard pull of 40 or more pounds, using arrows with broadheads no less than 7/8 inch in width with metal cutting edges; h. Crossbows with a minimum draw weight of 125 pounds, using bolts with a minimum length of 16 inches and broadheads no less than 7/8 inch in width with metal cutting edges; i. .22 rimfire magnum rifles; j. 5 mm rimfire magnum rifles; k. .17 rimfire magnum rifles; and l. Shotguns shooting shot. we all know for several years now #g- and #l are the only lawfull methods of taking a turkey !!maybe #h - I've contact g&f several times = talked to several people - the only answer I can get is it needed to be voted on by the commission to change the wording in the regulations - It was suppose to happen before this printing - ooops - one would think once they passed -changed the law to only allow shot guns shooting shot - other than the bow season - that would be all it takes - ???????? come on game and fish - lets go -- proof read some of this stuff!!! Soloution to carry your Range Finder
elkaholic replied to stalkincoues's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Yeah, sorry for taking so long to comment back. You can't use any "Electronic device as an aid" I beleive it says this verbatim on their websites. I will look and see if I can post a link. hello -- well sorry but shot that one right out of the air :::: From: Pope & Young Club <admin@pope-young.org> Date: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 5:38 AM To: 'Hanson' <elkaholic93@cox.net> Subject: RE: Web Site Inquiry Size: 6 KB We would accept an entry using a range finder as long as the range finder is not attached to the bow. Thanks, Glenn Hisey ::::just came in my email - thought it might help -- Gary -
hello - - i didnt want to get into the - not being able to spend time scouting or days hunting or experience judging antelope - affording a guide - how many bucks you've already seen etc.. Most of the guys passing probably all have taken bucks and are looking for something bigger and better - I'll bet the majority of bucks killed by normal everyday joes will not score 70 -or even go 15in.- Of course guys who spend the time scouting and or get guide service will have all the advantages of looking over lots of bucks- I'm no expert but if and when I get a tag -I'm not gonna shoot the first buck I see just to fill the tag, but by mid week a nice (average) buck will be in trouble - the guys who know and have see big bucks will hold out till the last day -- kinda like elk hunters - everyone knows that 400 class bulls are around and they have even seen them - so they pass on a 350 bull that walks by a 20 yrds . thats a big mistake in my book because most of the common joes may never get close enough for a shot at a monster-- be it bad luck or inexperience - #1 buck - like i said the angle of pic - had mass- judging from width comparied to the eye - but looked a little short - couldn't really tell the length - I'm sure all that comes with experience - and seeing lots of lopers - I did say shoot . #2 buck is what every joe would shoot without question. gary

hello - the lakes close to williams can get a lot of people on the weekends - week days are best - cataract and kiabab are not bad ! you can catch trout from a boat or shore - I've caught fish on bait - off the bottom from shore - get the yellow /orange power bait or casting assort lures from shore works- Dogtown is a bigger lake and should be a good time, the same for white-horse - same techiques on all these lakes - casting from a boat or trolling around can actually be better for the bigger fish ! good luck - Now if you are catch and release 2 lakes to try are Perkins tank and Jd tank- both were taken over by the fly fishing guys but fishing with single barbless lures is allowed. no bait fishing! It was not uncommon to catch 16+ inchers -solid 2 lbers. from shore at both these lakes - 4-5 yrs ago and since then it's catch and release only - both are great lakes for a better quality trout ! gary
