I've actually seen some of these albino deer at my relatives home, in Eagle River wisc. - Everytime we go back ,it's like a mini adventure to drive around the neighborhood and try to locate them. Not uncommon to see them in someones front yard - right off the rd. Awesume pics.!- Gary

time fer sum Ham sandwichs - smoke sum bacon!- nice - Gary

they should have said poacher - just because this "poacher " used a bow instaed of a gun - they jumped to conclusion it was an archer - i guess meaning hunter 99.9% sure - in my opinion had nothing to do with ethics of a hunter! just because the archery season is open doesn't mean squat! this poacher was after antlers - not unusall- just his techique! We all needa little help now and then FLAGSTAFF - Rescuers saved two Arizona hunters from freezing Lake Mary southeast of Flagstaff after the men fell into the water and were found clinging to their boat. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the men were duck-hunting Monday when one of them stood up to take a shot and lost his balance. The other man tried to catch his friend, but they both fell in and were unable to get back in their overturned boat. With help from the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, a DPS helicopter crew lifted 37-year-old Russell Price and 25-year-old David Wilson, both of Flagstaff, from the water. Both men were treated for hypothermia and exhaustion and are doing well. The air temperature was 32 degrees and the water had thin layers of ice on some parts. DPS estimates the men were in the water for about 30 minutes.

i tried to swap / turn a tag in for a different tag 2 yrs ago - i had drawn a 21 ham but since there were left overs for 29 ham and i had freinds drawn for that hunt - i made the call - NOPE was the answer i got ! i woul like to see them allow a second tag if you were unsuccessful on your first hunt - say i drew a archery in january and did nt fill it - i would be able to try for a left over otc tag for ham or general - since they seem to always have many for lots of different units - especially since they now have the fall hunt for youths - so youths can get more than one pig tag or is the tag good for both times - its kinda confusng - but still only kill one pig ! Probably wont happen! dont they now have otc tags available for archery in the m - units !? Gary

how so? You are not supose to leave anything in the national forest ! pack it in pack it out - basically one could be citted for littering rules that may be enforced in the near future -

here's one write -up http://www.chuckhawks.com/remington700MLS.htm powder or pellets depends on the gun - the bullet and then the shooter- read as much as you can - t/c makes some of the best with cva and traditions closing the gap each yr. Knight has always made great guns but are no longer in business '- myself i'd pass on the 700ml- Gary i got a new cva buckhorn - 3x9 scope- at range after 2 shots sighting in 3 shot clover leaf holes at 50 yrds. - less than 2 in at 100 but i'm sure its me and not the gun! 295 powerbelts and 2 - 777 -50 gr pellets . sighted in 4 in high at 50 so its 5 in low at 200 - good to go! can always go up to 150 grs if needed

you could very easily be leaving scent when you are comin and goin- sometimes odors can be picked up from your truck etc. -- even your breath - if you are wearing your boots from the time you get dressed tillthe time you enter the blind - they can pick up lots of wierd odors !- change the scent free product - or at least buy new fresh stuff! wind direction is always a blind hunters worst enemy - maybe you should set another blind at the opposite side of tank so you can have an option depending on the wind - Good luck!- Gary

Maybe there ought to be a posted # available for people hunting in all of these units , to contact the local BP. everyone carries cell phones these days - get a gps reading - most hunters do carry gps - turn these guys in ! how hard can it be to have the bp # for each unit ! maybe the best eyes the BP's got is hunters out in the field - then when the helicopters start searching the area - all the bucks will be up and running oh ya shoot the buck ! Gary

do elk from ponderosa forest taste better than from P-J?
elkaholic replied to desertyankee's topic in Elk Hunting
90% of any elks diet is grass - now does grass grown in the pines differ from grasses in the pinion - not by much now i have seen elk munchun on juniper berries - now if they are consuming a lot of berries this may very well account for a different flavor of the meat !
