I'm not singling anyone out but we can all sit here and play keyboard jockey activist but how many projects does that get done? just to put this in perspective - if not for some "keyboard jockey activists" azsfw would be sitting with 350 taqgs and we'd have a new law 2072 . if not for some key board activist you'd probably not be so fired up to "From now on, you can find me fighting to get more sportsmen involved in conservation projects, the commission meeting process, predator hunts and youth recruitment." none of this would have happened !there'd probably be no swsa etc. just saying!
-
you are a little mislead iof you think they will just go away - lets just forget about them and move on - REALLY!? they still want to control azg&f - with the commisssioners reveiw board . what are we teaching the kids - when you are confronteed with a problem you have to make sure you correct it! itnot quit before its finished .- if you start something you need to see it thru to the end . its great to think it would go away on its own but thats not gonna happen. AZSFW will not just go awaay by themselves. from one of the crew -- " As far as the AZSFW, it will continue to exist, but in a far different format and certainly without funding from any of the conservation groups, including the ADA." Hamberlin thru 50,000 around at the azsfw like it was cotton candy the little funding from the groups means nothing to a guy who'll throw 200,000 at a deer tag. it was having the voice of the majority of Arizona sportsmen groups - that voice is gone we have to eliminate this organization here in ARIZONA!! yes the ABA needs to come forward and withdraw support also along with all the others!!
-
"As far as responding to CWT, I apologize, but we really do owe you nothing." sounds like the azsfw- we do not owe you any explination they got the boys still pushing the how good we are and really dont care to explain any thing to anybody . they'll come back in a yr or 2 all will be forgiven - NOPE!! like from the beginning we never knew if it was the ADA of bpj thoughts and opinions basically cuz the majority of the ADA board was pushing the azsfw agenda at every chance and even did it in the survey! the ADA already lost members over the walking the fence on 2072 - and with the attitide some of the board have - i doubt you'll be getting a whole lot of new members. As far as the azsfw still being around , were working on that one - they've already lost over 50% of their major organizations . All Arizona knows they will never speak for the majority of sportsmen and women agin !
-
When is the ADA gonna get off their "aces" and come forward with information about the platnium membership with the azsfw . The sportsmen and women of Arizona deserve an Answer - whats it gonna take for this to happen!? we've been told twice the 2072 push is dead - we'vew been told that if it happened a second time the ADA would remove itself from affiliation. WHat is the message they are sending by dragging this out - with no comment from anyone !
-
when is the board of the ADA gonna let the sportsmen and women of Arizona know exactly what they stand for now and in the future. ARE you still and will you still activily support the AZSFW !!?? will you still be a platnium member so someone can be on the board! simple question ! time to pony up to the bar boys.!

it's plain to see you are against the AZG&F department BPJ. sorry they do not meet the standards of you and your azsfw buddies . Be nice to see all the details behind the curtains of your little group! be nice to see what money can buy! -
heres some very interesting read - you decide if this was a scripted/bais survey . they do not mention the original bill with the no bag limit nor the orginal wording. only the few rewritten stuff- ADA/azsfw members did a good job of selling the goods! ADA survey letter (1).pdf

whats hb1270 anyway - kinda like any business - you can get pats on the back from past accomplishments and remember when you did this but when you screw up you get your butt chewed out and a warning - you screw up the second time - no questions no B.S. you get a check and your walking papers . azsfw is at he last stage - they had a chance to drop it but they werent satisfied and pushed agin. they need to go - no way anyone is gonna trust them. All those responsable for the second push belonging to organizations who were against 2072 need to step down or be removed from boards . guess ya can't fire them and a butt chewing will do nothing . People will be less likely to join an organization if they feel the leaders do not have their views and interests , especially- TRUST. -
most easy areas have already been hit pretty hard already - good luck

just love the kick back comments from someone who got a late cc hit! easy for you to say! lol i wouldnt think g&f could make it happen any faster - other than going back to paper - always been major problems with the online crap - you know how many differnt cc cards might have been used - and to deal with contacting to resolve the issues ? checks money orders - done deal -

Commission Appointment Board

AZSFW having so much percieved power and influence? look at what just happened with 2072 - azsfw was willing to go lie and decieve- betray all organizations they were said to represent - to further their own good . they are 100% opposed to the g&F they have stated publicallly they are incompentent a few chosen people and the right law - bingo - on more step in aligning the pieces . they know what money can buy - 3 paid lobbyists to fight against all the sportsmen and women in Arizona . key board membders on all the organizations to help with the fight! THey were willing to prove they had the power and the influence but it was stopped by joe hunter - now joe hunter needs to finish the game! we need to put a tag on azsfw! and anywhere they show thier influence and precieved power . this board by its current members shows its a threat -its got azsfw members with the right people anything can be a good thing - with the wrong people its dooms day! -

sorry - not to say all will be influenced you are talking in reguards to the 2 good guys - I agree with you!!! BUT __ what we are worried about is the 3 that are in question in reguards to their relations with azsfw . what can you say of the others ?? do you know them as well what happens when sue leaves / how can we stop the 2 names who may be influenced by azsfw !? -

Aren't these all individuals capable of their own thoughts and decisions, or do we really believe that AZSFW has the power to sway these individual's opinions or the voted on opinions of their respective organizations, if they are even taking a vote on a prospective Commissioner? Losing on a vote is a part of a democracy. We can never guarantee a win. Not sure I am following your logic there. you are kidding right! have you been sipping the kool-aid too! i wouldnt use power as much as to say influence! -
Commission Appointment Board
elkaholic replied to SpeedGoat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Keep in mind that the Governor gets to decide who sits on this Board, not AZSFW she only gets to pick from the names the board gives here - no less than 2 when members of the board is controlled by azsfw members - guess what ? the same with a few organizations we know of! sue s term is done - since when is 2 the majority of 5 ? stinson is a azsfw member - so is gilstrap - most likely johnson best interests are great but if you are out voted - ??!!! Members of the board are Phillip D. Townsend (chair), Susan E. Chilton, W. Hays Gilstrap, Donald R. Johnson, and Leonard G. Stinson. -

looks to me like gowan was/is like weiers he tried to amend the bill with weiers to gag order the G&F . hes part of azsfw as far as I'm concerned- why would he be favored ? this was part of the 2072 and directly from him to shut up the G&F! as an amendment on omnibus g&f bill! http://www.azleg.gov//FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/50leg/2r/proposed/h.2639-p2-gowan.doc.htm&Session_ID=107 -

Commission Appointment Board
elkaholic replied to SpeedGoat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
we tried to bring this to light in JAN. 2010: azsfw legislation recommended SB 1200 Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board – Passage of SB 1200 over the objections of Arizona Game & Fish Commission (3-2 vote), Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, Arizona Audubon, and Arizona Wildlife Federation to provide certainty that sportsmen have a voice in the future selection of game and fish commissioners HB 2619 Game & Fish Commission Process Bill - Successfully passed bill out of House of Representatives and Senate Natural Resource Committee. President Burns refused to bring the bill to the floor so we are currently working with Governor Brewer’s office to draft an Executive Order to define process including dates, etc.\ -------- this was G&F responce: The Arizona Game and Fish Commission today urgently asks the public in joining them in opposition to Senate Bill 1200, proposed legislation creating a new appointment recommendation board that would evaluate and control which candidates for commission vacancies the governor could select. SB 1200 is scheduled to be debated tomorrow and voted on this week in the state senate. The commission asks people to immediately contact their state senator in opposition to SB 1200 and let them know that House Bill 2619 is a much better solution to an open and fair commission appointment process. Contact your senator now by following this link. heres bill 2619-- http://www.azleg.gov//FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/hb2619h.htm&Session_ID=93 The commission expressed concern that SB 1200, if passed by the Arizona Legislature, could threaten the current commission system by granting greater influence to a select group while weakening the public’s voice in wildlife management. “This legislation would lead to, and is intended to lead to, a commission made up entirely of people with similar views, similar backgrounds and similar intentions,” said current commission chair Jennifer Martin from Phoenix. “If this bill passes, and the majority of our stakeholders are disenfranchised and most Arizonans are left out, our broad support base that’s always waiting in the wings to protect the commission system, if necessary, will disintegrate.” ---- In late 2005, governor Napolitano nominated Jennifer Martin to serve on the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. Martin was highly qualified but heavily opposed. At her Senate confirmation hearing a member of the AZSFW raised concerns regarding Ms Martin's status as a single mother and her ability to focus on the job at hand. After the Senate failed to confirm Martin, the door was left open for the Governor to seat her. Ms. Martin served well that first year and there was little opposition when she was confirmed by the Senate. AZSFW went to work crafting HB 2235 which was filed by Rep. Weiers in 2009. I call the bill "The Jennifer Martin Bill". HB 2235 would have made individuals such as Jennifer ineligible and would have made people like Robbie Woodhouse ineligle as well. About 5 days before the bill was scheduled to be heard, the lobbyist for AZSFW came to a Yuma Valley Rod and Gun Club Board meeting and requested our endorsemant. The YVRGC Board of Disrectors voted unanimously to oppose the bill. Representative Weiers pulled the bill the night before the scheduled hearing. Representaive Weiers and AZSFW went back to the drawing board. SB 1200 appeared on our door step days before the first hearing. Unfortunately we supported the revised edition. A bit of a amistake on our part. Prior to SB 1200 and the Commission Appointment Recommendating Board, prospective Commisioner were encouraged to contact most organitation and present their resumes and seek endorsement. Woodhouse and Freeman and all who preceeded them went through this process. In my opinion AZSFW has effectively silenced the voice of the average sportsman. ----- This removes the 'people' from another government process, not allowing us even the pretense of a voice to the Governor on who's appointed. Our only recourse in the past was our vote for governor to shape the G&F commission, that was restrictive already... example Nappy's appointees and then Brewer... we now have no say as the choice is dependent on special interest nonprofit orgs... socialism, no matter how you dress it. ----- heres what it used to be and what we still need - not a select group saying who we need torepresent us Dear Game and Fish Commission Applicant, Thank you for submitting your application in consideration of appointment to the Commission. There are a number of organizations that are very interested in this appointment and we suggest you contact them to discuss your interest in the Commission. A partial list of these organizations includes The Yuma Rod and Gun Club, Arizona League of Conservation Voters, Southern Arizona Sportsman Alliance, Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter, Wildlife Conservation Council, Trout Unlimited and the Arizona Wildlife Federation. [Please note that this list is representative of groups that are interested in this appointment and is not by any means intended to reflect all of the groups. You may wish to contact others as well). we need to remove this bill - we need to find a way to get rid of bill 1200 its been taken over by one group- same thing guys -azsfw - just different names! wonder who made political contributions to Burns in 2010 to stop the bill 2619 from the floor? -
